  1. Have a wonderful Hatchday Alfie!!!!!
  2. Nice intro to Scooty. Looking forward to learning more about the two of you. Welcome to the Grey family!
  3. I have straight hair how about a nice wave!!!! Would you rather your age now or back to 18 years old?
  4. Hey Alex, perhaps Woodstock has a skin irritation. Do you spray him with Aloe Juice? There is oodles of information in the Health Room about Aloe Juice. Give it a look see. Welcome to the Grey family!
  5. Very nice update. Pictures would be appreciated!!!! (hint, hint)
  6. My you do have a nice menagerie of pets. How do you find the time for them all. I find that greys like habit. They like schedules and not so much change. If you can fit a grey into your schedule and be consistent with it, I see no problems. It seems you have thought out being owned by a grey. Frankly, I personal would wait until you are out of school, working and in a more or less permanent living situation. But then I always look at the future when I plan things. I got my greys when I retired.
  7. Wow, very nice looking! Can't wait to see pictures of the fids enjoying!
  8. Aww all you clever grey people. I can't make anything.... two left hands!!!! I may have to drag the climbing rope net I purchased for the fids out of the garage and see if they like it now. Can't wait to see the final works. Good luck, you clever elves!!!!
  9. Happy Hatchday Nilah! Have a great day. Remember, it's your hatchday so you can do anything you want!!!!
  10. My greys I have had since weaned. They are flighted and do not pluck. They fly in my living room, birdroom, their aviary and kitchen. I do not let them fly in my office, bathrooms or bedroom. I do not have a schedule for when they are out of their cages. My TAG is the "boss" the other, the brute in the follower. Their choice. Both can talk, my CAG is the big talker, he sings and repeats just about anything I say. My TAG, only asks for nuts. She lets the CAG do all the talking. They come when I call, if they want to and both step up and if I ask if they want a scratch bow their heads for one. My TAG, shakes hands/feet if I ask. Both give me kisses if I ask. I do not let other people touch my greys although the TAG will land on other people's shoulders if she wants. The CAG, is a fraidy cat and screams like a banshee if anyone but me talks to him or goes near him. He thinks nothing of dive bombing a "predator" who dares come too near. He only comes to me. I live alone so my greys are very comfortable here and own the place. My greys are not screamers, except the CAG, if he is nervous around a "stranger."
  11. I am retired and live alone. However, I do not let my parrots roam free all day. I do not like poop throughout my home. My parrots are fully flighted and their favorite room is my kitchen. I have tried laying newpaper on the floors but all they have to do is lift a wing and the newspaper goes bye bye.
  12. I had my parrots done several years ago. The cost in Washington State was $65 back then.
  13. The vet wanted to put my greys to sleep but I told them no. They now do not put the parrots to sleep. The procedure is so simple they don't believe it is now necessary. To me the problems that could arise from putting parrots to sleep are more than not.
  14. My greys are both microchipped and have been since I purchased them when they were months old. When I first got them I took them in to their avian vet for a wellness check and they were microchipped then. They have never reacted to the chips and the avian vet could scan them whenever I want. They also have been registered with Homeagain, just in case. Having Ana Grey and Sterling Gris microchipped has given me peace of mind. If they escape, I know that if they are taken to a veternarian, the chips will be found. Ana Grey is 7 years old and Sterling Gris 4 years old.
  15. Hi Madi, welcome to the Grey family! Kudos to you for wanting to re-home a CAG. Good luck on your search.
  16. Love your Avatar picture of Echo! And a very nice intro. Looking forward to learning more about your companions. By the way, I love your shepherd mix; quite gorgeous.
  17. My greys are microchipped. Perhaps the lost amazon is. Any vet will scan the zon to see if it is. Hopefully the true owner will be found.
  18. Great looking pictures of your sweet baby. He so reminds me of my Sterling Gris when I first got him, big, very silver but a big fraidy cat.
  19. My CAG, Sterling Gris, shakes his tail all the time when he is out of his cage . Just like a little yawn or stretch perhaps.
  20. Hey Tommie and Kris, welcome to the Grey family. Looking forward to hearing and learning more about your little brood. The pictures of Onyeka are priceless.
  21. Very nice, wish I was just half as handy!
  22. I give me greys lots of sunlight and outdoor time and so far I have been lucky and they are content and full feathered. Lots of talking to them. They are in the living room in front of the front room windows so have lots to see and hear even though I live alone.
  23. Hi ladydove1966, has Zazu been with you since she was weaned? As it does matter how well a grey knows you as to the trust developed. With my TAG and CAG I just put a new whatever in a good spot that they like and wait for them to explore and trust it. My TAG, Ana Grey, 6, is a brave lady and loves window and kitchen views anywhere she can see me. My CAG, 4, Sterling Gris is a fraidy cat and a little slow to trust new things. As with everything you have to let your grey figure out when it it "safe". What we call Grey Time. Welcome to the Grey Family.
