  1. I am really sorry , I was wondering how you were getting on and just wish you could have been feeling more positive. Dont feel bad if you do decide to rehome Shadow, just ensure he finds an experianced loving home.I will support whatever decision you make. I really wish I could advise you better but I am at a loss. Can you talk to and get support from family members or friends.Greys can be a hand full and you are clearely finding things too much. You are giving your all but cant make a break through. I feel so helpless because I cant offer you any other advise. All I can say is that we are all hear to offer support and friendship, Sheila
  2. I use my dryer in the same room as the birds,so far no problems.
  3. Wow,a new grey and Macaw, congratulations.I bet you are so excited. I am from the uk, Liverpool.I have found everyone hear very friendly and helpfull. I cant wait to hear more about your new birds.
  4. I live in a semi-detached and have no problems with my neighbour. I agree with Caroline on being on friendly terms with the neighbours, mine come in for tea or coffee and and are animal lovers themselves so that helps. We also go in to each others house and check on and feed each others pets if there is a need, they have 2 dogs, I have 2 birds.Greys are one of the quieter parrots,so I dont think you will have a hugh problem. Talk to the neighbours and I am sure you will find they are fine with your grey.
  5. Well, I am just home from work, late shift this week. Hayley, are you sure you needed tricking into the sherry, the little old lady sounds just fine to me,no dementia, just the sherry bottle, she has the right idea.Godbless her. Anyway I am about to have a glass of wine. charlie should be ready for bed bed now but no, he has decided he wants to dance and is shouting Dance, Dance at the top of his voice.May put a cd on for him to dance to.I cant play it loud though, my neighbour has a 2 year old who will be fast asleep. Judy, shame on you. Get that tree up girl, Santas elves wont do it for you, santa has them far too busy. Jen. I know what you mean,it is hard to get motivated enough for Christmas, especialy if you are run off your feet. Have fun everyone.<br><br>Post edited by: she, at: 2008/12/17 23:59
  6. Oh yes greys have A LOT OF ATTITUDE. This is all very normal behaviour.
  7. I have been told last night in work that a garden centre about 15 miles away have a java tree, 5 ft by 4ft and I could probabley get it for about £160. I finish work tomorrow so may go and look on Friday. I am wondering if it may be too big for my living room though.
  8. Judy you are so brave.I would love to see the outcome if they took Daves dare up and answered some of the posts on hear. Wow, I do hope so.
  9. 1 cag. 6 years old (approx). 2 homes including mine, hand reared, fully flighted but has been clipped in the past. No plucking issues. Blue, my cousins 40 odd year old wild caught grey has never plucked in his life. Always been fully flighted but does not fly much now. I have just got in from work and let Charlie out for a bit. He has not come out though.I am just about to have a cup of tea before bed.
  11. Yes I think cleaning his cage with him in it may be less stresful to him. It will as has already been said help him become acustomed to you.
  12. Hi. We have had very cold weather the last few weeks, below freezing at times.I find my cag and tiel are fine without the heating on of a night. I do cover them with blankets and they seem quite cozy.
  13. Hi Caitlin. I hope you are managing to find your way round this site. Slater sounds like a fun bird. Hope to hear more from you when you can fit us in.
  14. I agree. It is probabley a molt
  15. Hayley I have been looking on northern parrots aswell but at the parrot towers.Wow they are pricey. I am worried the java trees branches may be a bit slippery. I think I would like to see one first.
  16. Yes I get the e mails. You can unsubscribe if you wish.
  17. Hi Gilbert. welcome I hope you find this site usefull and informative. Please tell us more about your intentions of becoming a grey owner, I look forward to hearing it all.
  18. Thank you Ninna. I really enjoyed that.I feel all christmassy now.
  19. George not talking could be for many reasons. If he is healthy and well in himself I would not worry too much. He could just be adjusting things.Keep talking to him and I am sure all will turn out fine.

    Soya

Harrisons pellets are a fantastic parrot food and If Harry is eating them he is on to a winner.
  21. Hi Marla. It sounds like George is interested in playing with you on the floor, thats the way forward with him. That is an interaction he enjoys so use it to your advantage. roll his ball and let him play, offer treats by hand while you are playing with him. That is exactly how I persuaded Charlie to like me when I first got him.Put his toys on the floor and have fun with him.Above all dont give up,It can take many months for a grey to trust
  22. Yes I have heared of them. They are brothers and do parrot shows and demonstrations. I have not personally used any of their methods or products.
  23. Charlie loves the occasional bite of chicken.
