7. I had a great night out last night, got in at 2.30 am.I did not have too bad a hangover, just tired.Mind you I have been eating like a pig all day. Caroline I hope Brad passed his exam. I am having an early night tonight, may watch sports personality of the year up stairs. I have had a busy day really , Posted all the neighbours christmas cards through the doors, took some shopping round to my mum, she is still not too good but has a hospital appointment on Wednesday, then I went to my sisters so I am just relaxing now. The birds are on top of the cages and Charlie is talking his head off and chewing up a cardboard box
8. Well I am all ready for a good night out with friends. We are going for a chinese and then a good sing song in a local pub.I am really looking forward to it.The full war paint is on, the works. Its raining hear, that usually happens on the rare occasions I go out but it wont dampen my spirits,an umbrella will sort that out.Charlie and Cracker are bedded down for the night, a bit early than usual but the extra sleep wont harm them. See you all tomorrow, if my hangover allows.
9. I try my best to give my birds natural food without preservatives or colourings.I realise they do get some when I maybe give them tasts of my food but on the whole my advise is to keep the diet as natural as possible.By the way some parrot food and treats also have colour and preservatives in them.
10. Jim I am like you. I spend half my time in work wanting to get home to Charlie and Cracker. I always feel so guilty leaving them. Judy I am glad your birds are home safe and sound.

Harry

Hi as Carolyn said, the earlier the better. Harness training can be done round the house, and when visitors are over is the ideal time to introduce him to other people.I have a wingabago carrier for my grey which is a plexiglass enclosed carrier and that is ideal for going in the car when the weather is cold or wet.A good idea is to have him happily going in a carrier so he is not upset when he has to, vet visits ect. Charlie was introduced to his slowley over a few weeks and given lots of treats in there. I also ensured his carrier means good thing are happening, he goes in it daily in the nice weather to be transported to his outside aviery. There are many things you can do over the winter to prepare your baby for his adventures in the spring.
12. You sound as if you are doing everything right and I am sure your baby will mature into a very loving companion. well done to you and the girls who gave her such a good start.I look forward to hearing many of your stories and adventures with your grey. Sheila
13. I am so sorry things turned out so bad.My thoughts are with you.take care.
14. Hi I am sorry your grey has traces of chlamydia.I believe it is treatable with a long course of antibiotics. Please keep your other birds away from him and be sure to wash hands often.
15. Hi. I have not heared of this particular medication. In regards to Chloe plucking again once you stop giving the medication this may well be the case, but equally it may just help by stopping the habbit long enough for her to cease the plucking. I assume you have gone through all the other options, regular baithing, more attention, new toys, teaching a few simple tricks to keep her occupied, ect before she went on the medication.
16. Glad you enjoyed your holiday Judy.
17. Kim you sound so happy with Fred.I am so pleased for you. It does sound as if she had a good start in life.As Judy said she is on her best behaviour at the moment. They do sometimes try it on when they are more sure of themselves. If they have had a good base in step up this can be delt with without too much problem.

Post edited by: she, at: 2008/12/12 21:00

Panda's biting!

Hi Crissy. We have all been bitten at some point. Dont take it personal. Panda is very new to you and the suroundings. She is feeling nervey and strange. You are right to sugest giving her more space.Just offer her treats and dont expect anything from her.I would just talk to her and let her settle.Offer her treats by hand and let her come in and out her cage on her own.
20. I am sorry your baby bird is so ill. I cant offer a second opinion only advise you to continue looking for a vet who can give you another oppinion. From what you say it sounds to me like some sort of brain or spine problem. Has he fallen or had a crash landing at any time. I am sorry I cant help more.
21. Eddie is really settled in well. Yes they are very addictive.I am glad you are so happy with him.
22. Charlie just loves carrots. He also goes crazy when I make toast. He shouts come on, hurry up, want some,in the bowl, every time I make it.
