Caroline thats exciting, a new baby.I was all of a jitter when my niece was having her two,Let us know when you have any news.I have 7 nieces and nephews and 4 great nieces and nephews.I adore them all. It would be fantastic if the baby was born on valentines day. Happy hatch day to Keeko Mum is home at last, she is far from well but at least she is home. I have a new boiler so lots of hot water at last.

Well Zeus is a smart bird,that is early for talking.

Take him to the vet.The feet may need proper cleaning and he may need anti biotics.

I am always scared of diseases when mixing birds.This would be a concern as your friend has not has the bird long and you are not sure if tests have been done, I would ask if ay have.

Hi. Greys need fairley sharp claws for grip.I know what you mean about them hurting though.I often have scratches on my hands from Charlies claws. Have you got a perch in his cage designed to trim the nails, if so move this to a more promanent perching place for a while.I have never had to have my greys claws trimmed but if they needed it I would get the vet to do it.

I have mine with exotics direct and have found it invaluable.I recomend anyone to insure their birds.Avian vets do not come cheap.

I am probabley over reacting but I think it is a bit off for the company to just stop producing ,I think they should have prepared better and ensured a supply.After all it is bad to just have to change a parrots diet and this company should know better.I have Charlie on Harrisons,I get them from Northern parrots but my vet also has them I know I would be frantic if I could not get them.

Nice picture. My Charlie is quite big at 500 gms and sort of light grey. I just term him as a cag.Blue my cousing grey is a bit darker and about 450 gms,we weighed him last time I had him stay. Charlie just gets on the scale when I say lets see if you are a fat man.I just refere to Congo and Timneh greys.They are all fantastic birds.

Fagan sounds great. It sounds like you are giving him enough attention, a stand and a sleep cage may be usefull.I think you are doing a good job.

Larry sounds adorable.You are doing a great job in rescue.I know that many people are finding things hard at the moment,job losses ect. It is so sad that often it is a beloved pet who needs to be rehomed because of finances.Parrots are expensive to keep properly and can suffer in these hard times.Sometimes it is the best thing for the pets to be rehomed if they can no longer be looked after properly . People like you give them a second chance.

Oh they do love to compete on the noise level.A good tip if your grey is being too noisy is to get the house quiet ,turn down the tv or radio and enjoy the quiet time.

Mum is still in hospital she is having a full bone scan today and may be able to come home after that. She has still not seen the specialist but we have been told he must see her within 10 days of being asked. Still no hot water.The boiler is finished. I am having a new one fitted on Saturday.Thats me on the bread line for a while.
