1. Two heart warming stories that restore faith in human nature after all the horrid things we hear about. You are so right to be proud of these special people.
2. Both Charlie and Cracker love a bath in the kitchen sink. They stand in it and I spray them with a water bottle.Charlie spreads his wings right out and really enjoys it, Cracker even rolls over to get his belly wet sometimes.
3. I love the photos of Sadie Grey. Thanks Jen.
4. Marley was indeed a fantastic birthday present.I know what you mean about the talking, Charlies favourite saying is "Ill batter you"

Post edited by: she, at: 2009/02/17 18:09
5. I also am looking forward to hearing more about your work with greys. As Dan mentioned, things may be very diferent. I think the artical you quoted had some good advise in it.I would love to hear some of your own personal experiance and knowledge of greys.

Post edited by: she, at: 2009/02/16 20:22

Big eye! :O

I am glad you are taking him to the vets tomorrow.I am reluctant to advise on an eye injury as the eye is very delicate and needs a profesional. In the mean time have a look to see if he has injured himself on anything in his cage. Does he have a wound or just swelling? Keep him quiet and warm and monitor him.

Gizmo update

Pat, thanks for the update on Gizmo. He seems to be doing fine.I have not really had much trouble with Charlie or Cracker when they molt.Cracker is a grouch most of the time anyway and Charlie may become less inclined for scritches but no real problem.
8. Hi and welcome. What a flock you have.I am glad you are really concidering the well being of your breeder greys. Also that you keep in touch with any of the babies you have.I know very little about breeding but I would guess it would be hard to turn a breeder into a pet or a pet to a breeder, although not imposible.I am looking forward to finding out more about your flock and any babies.
9. It could do. Just pet his head for now.
10. I am so relieved. Mum had the results of the bone scan this morning and Thank God all is ok apart from the ostio artheritis which we have known about for years. The doctor is chasing the specialist up over the lump but I am now a lot more convinced it will turn out to be nothing. She has to have regular blood tests because she is on Warfrin for the clots. I feel as if a load has been lifted from me. I did not realise just how worried and upset I have been untill I felt so relieved.
11. It sounds like he has bonded with you. When he does this courting behaviour place him on his cage untill he settles down. Have you noticed any thing that starts this behaviour off? Are you stroking him or playing with his beak.Just limit petting to his head for now,not his back or under wings or tail.
12. Hi Deanna. It sound like Marley has been very well socialised, thats a sign of a responsable breeder.Enjoy his out going nature and feel free to ask anything you wish.
13. Charlie is the biggest wuzz going when it comes to new toys.It takes ages before he will go near them.
14. Fagan is a smart looking Tag.

At last!

Brilliant news Caroline.I am sure you will be a great auntie.Cant wait to see the pictures. She is a big baby.:cheer:
16. Greys need company and interaction.I do not think placing a cage in the garage is a good idea.My advise is to read up all you can on greys before making your decision to get one. This forum is a great place for information and advise, please have a good look through the many threads in the various rooms and I am sure you will find much to help you.
17. Hello and welcome.Abbie is gorgious, thanks for posting the picture. She is a similar age to my grey.I am looking forward to hearing more about her.
18. I said the wait would be worth it,was I right? I am glad the baby got home safe and is settled in and playing.I am not sure about your question,I have not come across this product so cant help, sorry.

eggs?

I had two tiels who lived together all their lives, one female one male. In all that time the female never layed an egg,yes they were male and female.I did not wish to breed them but I was always surprised by the lack of eggs.A friends two tiels were always laying.Does anyone know why this was.Sadley both are flying in heaven now but this always had me puzzled.
20. Charlie is not too noisey at all.He does have his moments but after all he is a parrot. No screaming, usually talking and the mimic of verious house hold items, microwave, phone ect.He is covered up of a night and does not make a sound. He does get a bit loud after a shower but even that is not bad and quite funny,it is like he cant contain the excitement. He will bash toys around in his cage when he has a mad half hour but on the whole is not too noisey at all.
21. Poor bird.I dont know if I could do your job.I dont know if I could keep a cool head when faced with such a case. I know that is essential for the bird.I am just happy that he is now safe and getting the care he needs.Well done You.
22. My Charlie is working on eating the leather setee at the moment I have foxed him though, bought him a new toy and placed ot on top of the setee and now the toy is a big bad wolfe and Charlie will not go to the setee.Yippie.
23. Charlie has the same cage as Tigerlillys
24. Happy hatch day Keeko, hope mum is spoiling you,I bet she is.
