  1. Smart bird.12 months is the average for greys to start talking but some do start much sooner.That is just the start,you will never shut him up now:cheer:

Acceptance I think they show acceptance daily.After all they accept us keeping them as companions in a very different world than is natural for them.They accept being caged when needed and accept a far less veried diet than they would in the wild..they also accept humans as friends, something a wild parrot would not do.

    I think that eye looks infected somehow.Perhaps a conjunctivitis. I too think antibiotics are needed.
  9. Congratulations.Vontease sounds as if she is doing really well. I hope to hear more about her and would love to see some pictures when you can.
  10. Charlie loves to forage.He has a toy box in his cage and I hide treats in bits of paper and kitchen roll tubes and in toys. He usually finds them. I did buy him a foraging toy but he broke it within ten minuites.
  11. Simba is a handsome grey.Yes he is plucking.When he comes home have a vet check for any physical causes.He could just be upset being in the shop. He does have toys in the cage but may need more attention and a quieter environment.
  12. I am sorry to hear of your situation.I too would seperate them now.I think it may be a little better for them.I wish you luck in the future and hope things improve.

    I think I would look for a second opinion.I was expecting him to be given antibiotics not vitamins.
  17. Welcome Debbie.It is wonderful you have Sterling.We have all loved seeing him progress from a tiny chick to the wonderfull bird he is now.Jen has done a fantastic job.It will be fantastic if you can keep us all updated on Sterling.

  20. I am sure she is drinking.She will get a lot of water from fruit and veg.They will also drink more in warm weather,I dont think you need worry.
