1. That is a great picture, love it.
2. Thanks for sharing your story,I am sure it will make life with your new grey even more sweet. Keep us all up to date on the babys progress.
3. Thanks for the link.I have never seen a cage like that before.I would stick to the more conventional cage if I were you.I think it would be hard to set up with toys and such and provide no straight climbing area for the grey.
4. Nice videos, thanks for posting them.
5. I am looking forward to hearing what they say.
6. I am a ferm believer that you just get a feeling and know thats the one.Just make sure you find a good breeder and if possible visit your new bird as it grows so you have a sort of bond before it comes home. A good breeder will welcome this.
7. Hi and welcome. This is a brilliant site and you will find everyone very helpfull. We do really care about other people as well as the parrots and you will get any advise needed. Please keep us all informed about your grey and I would love to see some photos of him/her when you can as well as the oval cage,I have not seen one.
8. That is fantastic,I was worried about you having to transport Lacey daily after such an ordeal. I am pleased you are being well looked after.
9. That is a clasic,I love it,the lads are bonding.
10. Oh they are so cute. Its hard to imagine how beautiful they are when all grown up.Thanks for the pictures and the link.
11. Charlie and Cracker whistle the z cars theme tune, it is an everton fc song and our lads thought it was a must for them to learn.
12. Kharsen is adorable. Thanks for posting the pictures.
13. I am so excited for you.As you say, look around and find the right one for you.
14. Well, today it is a beautifull mild day.I decided to put the birds in the aviery for a bit this morning. They loved it. .Cracker thought it was just fantastic and was quite miffed when I brought him in to give Charlie his turn.I only had them out for about an hour each as I thought it may be a bit cold to leave them any longer but they were quite happy.

Post edited by: she, at: 2009/02/22 12:39

I love you!

Oh yes ,it pays to mind your language round a grey. They pick it up in a flash.
16. Hi and welcome. The boings you mention do seem to be very popular. Each grey differs in the sort of toy they prefere, some just love ripping paper up,phone books, old paper backs ect. Some love to dismantle things, lego blocks are great for this, some love foot toys and will play for ages with them, some love bashing things like bells about. They all have their own likes and dislikes.Have a small selection of verious toys and you will soon find out what your new baby grey likes.Keep us up dated on your grey and when he is coming home.
17. Laurie you have a son who deserves to be proud of.You are doing a fantastic job of bringing him up to care for those less fortunate.Well done.

Hi Everyone

Hi Vee.Well done on taming your grey, not always an easy task.
19. Thanks Dan.As you say our houses are way too dry for for the optimum care and condition of greys.
20. Thats the best news we could get.I am sure you will nurse her through the rest of her recovery just fine. Two hours of surgery is a very big risk to a bird. One question, she is to have antibiotic injections for another five days, are you taking her to the vet for them or are you giving them?
21. Just let your new baby settle in the new home.Have the cage set up before arrival and offer the food it has been fed at the breeders.Let the grey tell you when it is ready for more. Some babies are very social and this should not take too long,be patient.
22. I am surprised you could not contact a humain society on a Saturday. Do not buy a bird from this person, that bird would only be replaced by another, very fast.Just report this place and perhaps highlight it to local media so other people are aware of the conditions.I am sorry to say I have not always practiced what I preach,I bought Cracker my tiel from a far from perfect pet shop,They even told me he was weaned when he was not properley eating enough. It is so hard not to want to take them out of a bad situation.
23. I thought I would share these two photos of Cracker.the first is when he was 2 weeks old in a pet shop with his little friend.Needless to say I put the deposit on him right then. He came home a few weeks later. The second is Cracker last autumn,I think he is one handsome tiel, mind you I am biased.
