1. Mesa is so sweet. We have a room hear for OTHER BIRDS so I am sure you will find lots of info and advise there. Let us know what you decide. Your house is well large enough for another bird.
2. She is gorgious. How lucky are you if that is her first bad chew in all that time. Charlie is working his way through the house.
3. Great video.Hope your back is healing fast. Birds are very sensitive to our feelings so yes Gizmo picked up on your pain.

***Food***

Charlie has pellets available all the time and has two feeds of fruit/veg daily. He also has snacks of nuts or a bit of food I am having.
5. Beautiful little bird.
6. I hope it works out Carol. It is a fantastic opportunity
7. It would be easy to condition him to it while young. Use a phrase or comand and offer a treat for being good. I use a down comand and they go down on to the scale. He probabley will step on to it on his own as he is investigating it,when he does cue him and offer treat,

Post edited by: she, at: 2009/04/16 21:59
8. My two both just get on the ordinary kitchen scale. It is a digital one but like a flat circle. I find no reason for a perch, mind you my two are very used to it. I just say come on, lets see if you are a fat man and they know whats coming and are happy to go along with it.

Post edited by: she, at: 2009/04/16 22:00
9. Well we did all say she was too smart to be a male:lol:
10. A warm humid atmosphere can be of help but I am not sure of a brooder. I think it may well be a good idea to see this other vet if you are not happy with the one the bird is under now.
11. Charlie loves cuddles but only if he wishes. Its up to him. He often likes to sit on the setee of an evening just before bed and sometimes it is clear he wishes to sit by me but hands off, other times he cant get enough head scritches and loves his whole face being rubbed.Pepper is growing in to a beautifull bird.
12. Hello and welcome. Greys are often afraid of new toys and need time to accept them. Place new toys away from the cage and gradually move them closer as he becomes ok with them.
13. I watched her on Britons got tallent last Saturday. Yes she is amazing.Today in england she has been all over the news with talk of her going over to America and on the Oprah show. Simon cowel thinks she would get a no1 album in America.I wish her all the luck in the world. That lady has talent.I will be watching Britons got talent and hope she wins. Mind you she was on the very first show of the series so a long way to go yet.
14. I agree, older greys prefere to wreck things, Charlie is made up if I give him an old phone book to chew up. It makes a real mess but so what if he is happy.
15. Hi Tom. Casper has given ou some good pointers. Lulu is feeling very strange and insecure. She probabley does not know how to play with toys, show her. Leave the cage door open when you are around and she may just venture out on her own.Try giving her things to shread up like a phone book or old paper back.Drinking straws also make good toys. Will she take treats from your hand.It will take some time before she comes out of her shell but I am sure with time and patiance it will happen. She is still a baby ad needs lots of love and attention.
16. Charlie does this ,he is now six. he grabs my finger aswell. I just gently place him away from me and he settles down again.
17. I hope all goes well, please let us know how the tests pan out and how he is doing.

potpouri

I dont use any scented things in the house unless they are natural, flowers, ect.I would not recomend it.
19. I get my birds stuff and food from www.24parrot.com they have always been very reliable and willing to help and offer advice.
20. Hi and welcome.Ozzy is a nice looking bird. I am looking forward to hearing more about your flock.
21. I would just place him on the cage and leave him if he is being bad.Let him out,the more the better. If he is being very bad 10 mins in his cage wont do any harm. Parrots are very good at hiding illness untill they are very sick but If he is lively, eating and his poop is ok i think he will be fine. Vets can differ in cost but avian vets dont come cheap.Keep giving the fresh fruit and veg and hope in time he will try it.
22. Yes Judy it kept him out of trouble for a while.
23. She is beautiful. It is so nice when you hear of older greys being asopted. You really seem to get on with her aswell. Some greys are one person birds and it is hard to say if Gracie will accept your wife. I guess its up to the grey.I would not worry over it too much,it is very early days yet and Gracie may have a few more surprises for you.I love her little red feathers.I would have your wife just talk to her at a distance the bird is happy with or if she will allow feed her treats by hand.Dont be surprised if the grey lashes the treat to the ground at first.Just take it very slow.
24. Poor little Kevin.Yes you tried but wild birds are so hard to raise, mums always do it best and usually know if a chick is ill and will abandon it. Nature keeps only the strong in the wild.
25. Well this could be that Sinbad has been on his best behaviour while getting aquainted with his new home.He is now trying to see how much he can get away with. They can be so like spoilt children.Another posability is that he is not feeling him self.Have you had a vet check on him since you got him. My grey has been a hand full the last few days but I am putting it down to the spring time and his hormones. If sinbad is eating and other wise normal it is probabley just him being bolshy. Do not disiplin him at all but ignore any bad behaviour,A vet check would be wise in any case as he is a new grey to you.Why did his last owner give him up?He is still a baby and could be at a stage where he is becoming more independant.
