  1. I grew up with a lab called Cindy, she was a wonderfull companion and always at my side. When we lost her at 14 years it was horrible. She was like a best friend who you could share everything with, much needed during dificult adolescent years. I can really empathise with you on your loss.

    baby wipes

I am not sure Pat, but to be on the safe side I would just use a clean cloth with just water to clean the baby up.Sorry I cant help more.
  3. Welcome Annmarie. I hope you enjoy your times hear.I bet May cant come fast enough.Use the time to learn and ask as many questions hear as you need.I look forward to hearing more about your baby grey.<br><br>Post edited by: she, at: 2009/04/05 18:06
  4. Dave is spot on. Greys much prefere the sort of cage you have already.
  5. My tiel is 2 years old now and he has always been a little monster, he does exactley what your tiel does with the plant only he does it with anything. If I try to remove him from something he makes his feelings very clear. It is not just moulting that causes Crackers bad behaviour,I think he is spoilt plain and simple. My tiel is a fantastic little bird but twice the trouble as my grey.I love him for it though.
  6. Charlie is 6, Cracker is 2 and my cousins grey is in his 40s.
  7. Hi I agree with you that purchasing from a local breeder is a very wise decision. As for 1 vs 2 Thats your decision. Just be aware of the time and financial constraints of 2 parrots. Tags are fantastic birds as many on hear will testify, some even rate them above cags as they are noted as having a more even temperament and less prone to being pluckers. Again its your choice. Also remember that if you go on holiday 1 parrot is easier to find a minder for than 2.Many people on hear have more than one grey and get on just fine. Your questions about what sex and bonding depends a lot on individual personality. I would always advise housing them in seperate cages, although if they are reared together I am not sure if this is needed.Good luck in your decision and keep us all up to date.
  8. Hi First, you dont need to leave because you dont have a grey at the moment.I understand totally how you feel after loosing Alex. Sometimes its best to hang on a bit untill you feel a bit better. I am a believer in that our pets somehow find us,I a sure one day soon another grey will bless your life as Alex did,but untill then keep visiting us hear and chatting and learning with other grey owners. The people hear are second to none and there is no better place to heal.I am sure others will echo my coments.<br><br>Post edited by: she, at: 2009/04/03 20:16

    Bug Spray?

I would talk to your vet after you find out what chemicals are used.My gut instinct would be to get the bird somewhere else and not take a chance.

    Pellet waste?

Try feeding smaller amounts more often, that way most gets eaten and you feed only what the bird can eat. I give charlie Harrisons pellets, he gets about 3 tbs a day but in 2-3 feeds so I feed just what he is eating.

    Cracker update

Thanks everyone. Cracker is almost his normal self today, moving round and eating lots. He is now sitting on his cage looking what trouble he can get in to next. That bird is so silly, maybe the bump knocked some sence into him:cheer:

    Cracker update

Cracker is much better today. I have taken him to my own vet today and he is a bit bruised but otherwise ok. He is moving about a lot more although not like normal. He is eating well but still a bit quiet. My vet is not too pleased with the emergency vet , aparantley she is ment to contact him if one of his clients calls the service.I am just happy that cracker is ok, he really was out of it last night after his crash landing.I spent the night up and down checking on him.He is now looking ready for a sleep so its an early night for us all. Thanks again for all the help and advise.
