We have all been at the end of the line at one time or another.At 5 months old he is still a baby. Please give him lots of love and attention. You know,when they learn other sounds and words these can often replace those anoying sounds. My grey Charlie is a swine when I am on the phone,I have learnt to live with it. He now laughs out loud when I am on the phone and I have had some amazing conversations with people I dont know, say from a company I am ringing,It can become fun. Keep with it. I know its hard but return the bird now.Your vet has confirmed a very serious illness.Other birds in the store where you purchased then bird could also be affected.As your vet has informed the store I suspect they are legally obligated to refund your money.Do not wait and give yourself time to become even more attached to a lovelly but ill bird who will most likely not recover. I think another vet visit may be in order. Weigh daily at the same time each day. Is she a cag or tag. Tags are smaller and so lighter birds.Go back to the vet and have a full check up and blood work.A list of all your concerns is always usefull when at the vets,I always get home and remember something I needed to ask.Your grey is lively enough from what you say so my wild guess, and that is what it is just a guess, is some sort of weaning related problem.Your vet can advise better.

I have blinds on my windows and patio doors,they are great for preventing crashes.The decals sounds like a good idea.I am glad your bird is ok. They do learn where windows and mirrors are. Sheila

Do not re clip. If you do you will be risking injury to your grey.Let his flights grow back fully and then if you have to, get a vet to clip. He should be able to fly a bit so he does not just drop to the ground. So should your cockatiel.It sounds like this clip is pretty rough so it is possible the grey may chew as they regrow. Learn all you can about the pros and cons of clipping and do see a vet if the grey is chewing at his wings or starts plucking his feathers.

Sammy is wonderful. What a privalige to see all those beautifull birds, some I believe are quite rare.Good luck and keep us informed .
