I am so happy this had a good ending as I feared the worst but yes it does happen and you are very lucky to have Zuri back safe and sound, bet you went right out and bought him a new travel carrier he couldn't chew thru so he can still continue to enjoy his outings in the fresh air and sunshine. So glad you shared your story with us as a warning it can happen at any time and also for persistence paid off with his return home.

Dee this has made my day, to come on and find out that Java is more like her old self again makes me very happy as I am sure it is giving you a big sigh of relief that she is going to be around for a long time to keep you on your toes and delight you with her very presence, my how they steal your heart so quickly but completely. Even Gilbert understands the importance of your concern with Java, they are so intune with our emotions, you have something special there Dee and we all know it, you have a strength you never knew you had and Gilbert and Java are both benefiting from that, what an inspiration you are to all of us. I hope the news from the vet is good news.

So glad to hear there is some improvement, Java might be one fiesty little bird but she has met her match in you Dee, she might as well take her medicine willingly but if she makes you take the tough road then so be it. Dee, I am so sorry to hear of this and I do hope Java will be ok, you must be beside yourself with worry but trust that if she can pull thru she will, you have been thru so much with your birds and it hurts me to know you are going thru something like this again but we are here for you and I will keep the both of you in my thoughts and prayers that Java will be just fine, keep us informed.

The weight itself is not what would concern me but if she would lose a significient amount over a short period of time then I would worry, weighing often gives you a baseline to go on and if it goes up or down a lot then its time to find out what is going on.

Its funny how when birds eat anything that a lot of it falls to the floor but if I hand Josey a sliver of cheddar cheese she manages to eat it without dropping a single crumb, she practically inhales it.

I don't order too many toys online as I get most of my supply from going to the bird fair but several good ones have been provided by our members, just google bird or parrot toys and you will be provided with lots of sites and links.

Yes a few eggshells now and then are beneficial, if you fix some scrambled eggs or birdie bread for your fids when you add the egg just include the shell also as it provides some calcium. Those fruit treats are fine in moderation but since greys do not need much fruit limit them to a couple of times a week, no more unless you incorporate lots of veggies in them instead of only fruit.

I agree with Greywings about going to the vet if any sign shows up of something wrong but I would imagine her beak is sore.

Yes it is a big deal for those small steps equal success, its just another peg in the cog that will bring you closer to bonding with Timber and establishing the trust that must be earned, you are doing greyt.
