I can see him peeking out there in the middle of that stand, glad he is enjoying it.

Hello Tori and welcome to our family. Congrats on giving Peanut a new forever home but if you want to rename him it shouldn't present too much of a problem as he is still very young yet at 3 years of age, whenever you speak to him call him the new name. Dave is right about Photobucket, if you load your pictures there then you can do many things to them before posting them here, its the site most of us use for sharing photos.

And so did I Dee, Gilbert has nothing to be afraid of for he knows he has wound himself firmly in your heartstrings which is becoming more apparent every day, I believe in time you will hear less and less of the potty mouth and more and more of the sweet words. Thanks for sharing that article with us, that bird was smart enough to know when he had an audience and probably loved the attention it brought whenever he let loose with the profanity, shame on his former owner.

Cleo is a doll baby, a real sweetheart, just love those dark eyes the babies have, looking forward to seeing and hearing a lot more about her.
-
I know you were looking forward to having Jake for a while and then things changed and now you are thinking of getting another bird, thats how you know you have MBS and it happens to the best of us, I say go for it next spring if you are still feeling it.
-
Salty is a cutie but those Hahns can really deliver a nasty bite but hopefully he was just testing you, will be interesting to see how he settles into his new home and the three of them get along together in their new home.
-
If $80 is all you will have to spend to find out about the liquid coming from the nares then it is money well spent but I am hoping it is nothing, it will at least allay your fears and put you at ease, thats priceless.
-
Thats just precious and that is a perfect imitation of a chicken, I grew up on a farm and we had lots of chickens, she is your little jungle chicken.
-
Josey leaves my clothes alone too for the most part, it is my sun conure that chews up my shirts especially if it has any kind of adornment on it, she loves buttons, she will chew at them and get them unbuttoned as fast as I can button them back up, just shows how different our greys are.
-
Congrats to your friend Joy on her new addition, what a pretty little bird, love those colors.
-
You just answered your own question, yes they pick up on your nervousness so take it easy and just ignore it, I know its hard to do but you will only add to the problem and quit worrying so much as it only adds wrinkles.

Heather it takes time to bond with your grey so do not get discouraged at this point, she is a baby so it will just take some time and 6 days is nothing, be patient and she will come to trust you, remember that you have to earn a grey's trust. You can't hurry up the process so just keep doing what you are doing, talk to her and give her treats. One thing you can do when she steps up is ball your hand up into a fist before you ask her to step up, that way if she goes to bite then she will have a hard time getting ahold of you, always ask her if she wants to step up for we have to respect their feelings that maybe at that moment she doesn't want to so ask her a little later if she hesitates.

I hope your friend's grey has been to the vet and been given a clean bill of health for you don't want to expose your bird to something that could have been prevented but its a good opportunity to see how another grey will fit in with your fids, who knows it might be delightful, she is lucky to have someone who will look after her bird for that length of stay, looking forward to how it goes this Saturday.
-
I never experienced this with Josey but many others have and they do go thru a rebellious period that they are testing you but it seems to pass in time so hang in there as it will get better.
-
My fids don't usually bother the tree and we use a real one but the idea of using edible things to decorate it is an idea since you have big fids, they could eat the decorations off and by the time Christmas is over the tree will be nude and ready to go to the woodpile.
-
Exactly, they think those light up things are toys to be played with and destroyed, better to leave them elsewhere when its cuddle time, thanks for the laugh.
-
Thats wonderful news, so glad to hear it.

He is in an all new to him environment so may be scared but put the crate close to the open door of his cage and see if he will go from one to the other without having to handle him, it will be much less stressful for him then give him some time to settle down before you open the cage to allow him to come out if he wants, in time he will. Don't worry too much about him growling at you right now, its to be expected, just give him plenty of time and be patient with him as he gets used to his new home.

Hello Garrett and welcome to our family. Congrats on giving Kahzi a new forever home and the others have given you some excellent advice but above all just take it slow and easy, allow plenty of time for him to settle into his new home, give him all the time he needs to feel comfortable and do not push him if he is not ready, time and patience are your best friends right now to gain his trust. Would love to see some pictures when you get him home and settled in. -
It sure is nice to see the progress with both these greys, they just needed the right person and they found her, Emmy is starving for some attention and affection so continue to give those scratches, I think you are more afraid of her than she is of you so don't show any fear, be confident when you handle her and see what happens, I bet she will surprise you. I love the pictures of them coming out and wanting to be close to you, they have been penned up far too long and freedom is sweet.

Luna is enjoyable to watch and listen to as she goes thru her vocabulary, she throws some antics into the mix also, so adorable, thanks for sharing it with us.

Hello Kitt and welcome to our family. You have an adorable baby grey, Felix is a handsome fella and no wonder you are so happy. Be sure to browse thru the many threads here for lots of useful information, many members find some of the answers to their questions here among them. Thanks for sharing the picture of Felix with us and don't be shy about sharing more if you like as we love pictures.

I am so sorry for your loss Emma but it wasn't your fault, sounds like he died from something that you could not have prevented. Please don't beat yourself up over it, at least his time here was happy and you have many wonderful memories so cherish them. I think you should have that necropsy done to find out what happened especially if you have any other birds, sometimes its best to know why so you can put your mind at ease. Please keep your heart open for maybe another grey, not to replace Elwood but because they are awesome creatures and what better way to honor him, you sound like you have enough love there but let your heart be your guide. Again so sorry for your loss.

The one great thing about following Dee's thread, aka Katana600 is that lots of time and much patience works, sometimes it seems we make a step forward and then have to take two steps backwards but you can see the progress in her posts, its been a long time coming but if you follow the same idea of allowing them to make decisions on their own and let them set the pace of allowing more interaction with you and your family then you will reap the same rewards.

Hello DizzyBlue and welcome to our family. So glad to hear you could take Henni Penni in and give her a new forever home, she is lucky to have found you or you her but what matters is that she is healthy and happy. Has she been seen by an avian vet, I am assuming she has but that is one good thing that she is no longer mutilating herself but the plucking continues, if she has been doing it for a long time then it has become a habit that is hard to break. Maybe your avian vet can give you some help with that but don't focus on the plucking for any reaction to it is attention so just ignore it. If you have some pictures of Henni Penni you would share with us we would love to see them, it doesn't matter that she is plucked as their beauty is from within and we have seen oven ready birds before.
