I love hearing my own laugh from Josey, they do brighten our day like nothing else, glad that Fig is cracking you up.
-
That is exactly what she is doing, those sounds and the lowering of the wings are the signs, you just ignore these.
-
So glad to hear you will not be using this shackle and also you are leaving the wings unclipped, you will have a more confident bird.
-
Dave has given you some great advice and you have an adorable baby grey. About the vitamin drops do not use them for if they have a balanced diet added vitamins are not necessary and could be harmful, always go with your avian vet's advice. I don't understand why there should be a shackle on his leg, of course over there in your country it is probably used to keep them on a stand when outside but it looks like a cruel practice to me.

Hello Ricardo and welcome to our family and a big welcome to Frankenstein. That is an unusual name for a grey, how did you come about naming him that, must be some kind of story behind it and I would love to hear it. Go easy on the grapes as they are mostly just sugar and water, virtually no nutrition in them so save them for treats and another thing I want to clarify is these birds are not domesticated in any way, they are wild animals and will be for many years to come but I think the point you wanted to make was that he comes from previous handfed parents and so forth.

Hello Mike and welcome to our family. Why not tell us more about yourself and whether you have a grey and/or other birds and if you do how old, what kind, names and so forth.
-
Well you suffered a little setback but nothing that can't be fixed with some time and patience, this happens to most all of us especially the ones with rehomed greys but do not let it upset you for now you have seen that if you are stressed and frustrated they will pick up on that. You are doing great so far and if you continue to go on this path you will reap wonderful rewards, it just takes time but well worth the effort.

I have sorely missed your updates on Issac, glad to hear he is doing fine and being a pain in the butt, just his lovable ole self but you wouldn't have it any other way now would you. Please don't stay away so long before the next one.

Val is so right and I would take her advice about watching Oliver for the next few days. Those darn squirrels will bury nuts that are available in their area anywhere they like which includes our yards then they dig them up later to eat but a few they must have forgotten about for I have a few trees that came up that I know I didn't plant.

Hello Francisco and welcome to our family. You will learn a lot from this site as we have threads that cover most all aspects of grey ownership and most questions have been asked before so helpful suggestions are there for the reading. Why not share some pictures if you have some as we love pictures of our fids, the rosella too if you like.
-
Yes please provide a picture so we can see what you are talking about. Also does he play hard with his toys? Some greys get really physical with their toys and playing that they mess up their tail feathers but if you can find out some information from the breeder who was caring for him it may shed some light on why they look so disheveled.

Hello Jhon and welcome to our family. Please tell us more about yourself, whether you have a grey or not, any other birds and so forth so we can get to know you better. I am sure you will enjoy yourself here so join in the discussions.
-
Yay finally, you never miss it until you are without it but at least she was safe and warm, bet she will be glad to see you tomorrow.
-
Looks nice, ready for the holidays.
-
That is an adorable picture, Happy Halloween, it was uneventful here as it is one of the perks of living in the country, I can't remember the last time we had any trick-or-treaters.
-
Its nice to see you share a picture of your birds so now get busy and make some posts.

Hello Kristal and welcome to our family. We are so glad you could come and join us and I love it that you gave quite a detailed introduction, that will help us get to know you better. I don't doubt that you probably found the answers to your questions just by browsing thru the forum threads as most questions have been asked before but it looks like you all are on the right track and getting to where you want to be with these two birds. I look forward to seeing some pictures of Ruru and Freya but I assume that is them in your avatar, lovely looking birds.

You must live in town, I live out in the country and its common for us to be out if bad weather hits, I was out for over 4 days in June when we had that derecho and most anytime the wind gets bad we can expect to lose our power so we have alternate heating just in case but do the best you can and hopefully your power will be restored soon.
-
Yes it sucks but you do what you have to for she can't take the cold like we can, we just put on a coat or wrap ourselves up in a blanket and are ok but she is a tropical bird. Maybe you should look into getting some kind of alternative heat source for the next time this happens for there will always be times the power will be out for whatever reason, makes me glad I have 2 fireplaces and a woodstove.

Misty looks like he is ready to start chomping down on some pumpkin, make a big mess Misty.

Hello Jim and welcome to our family. When you say PO I am assuming you are talking about the Post Office so she spent quite a bit of time being greeted by your patrons and I bet she loved all the attention she received so yes I guess to a lot of people who patronized the Post Office did get to know her well. That was a short introduction so why not tell us more about yourself and Honey, please include pictures if you have any you would share with us.

My power just came back on after going out last night during the night, the house was already warm so it took a while for it to cool down but this morning when I got up it was in the lower 60s in the family room where my 3 birds are, I immediately started a fire in the fireplace and now it is over 70 in that room while the rest of the house will take a little while to get back to being what they were last night. We had lots of wind but not a lot of rain, had some snow showers and sleet but the sun is trying to come out and the mountain range I see to my north is snow covered. I am sure Neytiri is fine in that small cage, at least she is warm and with you which is much better than being at home alone and cold. I took a day off today to stay home and keep my birdies warm but now that the power is back on they will be fine again, enjoy the bonding time this provides.

It has been blowing hard here too since the middle of the day, our lights have flickered several times this evening and I carry a flashlight with me at all times, just waiting for it to go out, we may have a little snow on the ground by morning. There is much flooding going on especially north of us and over 3 million people are without power and that number will only go higher as the night wears on, please everyone stay safe.
-
Hello NCavender and welcome to our family. So glad you could give Sadiee a new forever home and yes it is sad that they had her that long and could just give her up like a piece of furniture they no longer have room for. Bet you have some stories to tell from the 8 months she has been with you and we would love to see some pictures of her if you have some you would share with us.

Snowshoe, West Virginia might get several feet of snow since they are high elevation and some places here in VA have gotten a dusting but nothing where I am but may get some flurries before its over, high wind is expected tonight and tomorrow, keeping my fingers crossed we don't lose power again but I can better handle the outage in cold temps, everyone stay safe.
