  1. Brody is so cute, Lisa, and what a joy he will be when you finally get him home. He should be bonded to you because you hand feed him but he could possibly pick someone else as his favorite as I am sure you have already heard they can do. Yes that cage sounds plenty big enough and especially if he is out of it for lengths of time, is about the size of mine. Thanks for sharing some pictures of Brody, he is a fine looking Cag.
  2. I think a telephone is on Josey's list this year.
  3. I hear ya................:silly:
  4. Joanne, the baby in the flight suit or birdy diaper is at the front of this thread, the baby wearing the yellow one.
  5. That is so cute of her playing with the conure and she really is a tiny thing isn't she!!!! Thanks for sharing a few pictures with us.
  6. Jimmy, several of the members have suggested using water cooler than what we usually use when we take showers, that a lot of them prefer cool water over warm if that helps any, you could try it.
  7. Sounds like she has you trained pretty good, Siobhan, thanks for sharing that with us, I love that.
  8. Congrat Kristin on winning the contest, it was a tough decision for there were so many excellent choices, they all were very beautiful.
  9. I wish I could get Josey to do that dance the cockatoo was doing in that funny video, but so far I have seen no moves out of her yet.
  10. I have purchased some items in the baby department that made suitable toys for greys, and the price is right.
  11. I guess I , like everyone else, is busy and I haven't checked in but don't worry I am doing fine.
  12. I'm sure she will love you Connie, and I am so glad she is coming home, she looks like such a sweetie, I know you will be counting the hours until you can pick her up.
  13. That first pic really shows off his red factor feathers, thanks Jimmy for the pictures and video, great job and keep up the good work.
  14. Those are lovely finches, and society finches were the first birds I started with and I still have a zebra finch. Those gouldians are very pretty, I have seen them in pet stores but I have never seen the owls, but they are very interesting looking, I can see why they are called owls. Thanks for sharing these pictures with us.
  15. Thats so funny, "what" I think was the first word that Josey said, I guess because I was always saying it to her, now she says all kinds of words and phrases.

    Poop

I think we have a thread already that deals with this, but I am sure if you have observed your grey you can tell by her actions when she is ready to take a dump and when she does you just put her where you want her to do it and give her a command. That can be any word you want to use and she will come to know what that means when you say it.
  17. Thanks Kristin for sharing these with us, very much unlike the usual paradise we think of when you mention Hawaii. Too much rain can be deadly and devastating. Glad you all were ok thru it and you got your power restored so you can be back on here to visit with us.
  18. Well of course Dan, he has to get it right before he recites it, but he has plenty of time yet and before you know it he will be talking and won't shut up.

    Success!!!

Good work, Terri, and thanks for sharing your little success story with us. I am sure with more practice she will continue to go when you tell her but she will still have some mistakes, but maybe the shoulders will stay cleaner now.
  20. OMG Pat, I am so sorry this has happened but it was not your fault so don't blame yourself, things happen and hopefully the beak will grow back enough for it to gain use of it again. Poor baby, I would have freaked out too if I was in your place, but I will keep Sprout in my thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery. Be sure to keep us updated.
  21. Thanks Roo for sharing some pictures and I especially love the ones of Roo enjoying a bath in the kitchen sink, wish my Josey would do that.
  22. Thanks Tracy for sharing that picture with us of your new addition to the grey flock, very good looking bird.
  23. LOL, Jamie you are such a good person, concerned about Romeo getting cold. I personally don't use a heated perch but if it makes you more at ease then by all means get one. I am another one that uses the day cage for the night cage. It is just easier that way for me.
  24. Hello and welcome to the family, Roo, glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Winsten. Yes I would say that pretty much all of our greys act alike, for they are greys and their own individuals also. I am sorry to hear that Winsten is biting you, he has not done this before? He has reached sexual maturity and that may have something to do with it. Some of our members have lots of experience with greys and will chime in with their thoughts and ideas. Please read thru the many threads on various topics for lots of useful information. You can ask us any questions you may have we will do our best to answer and help you in any way we can. If you have a picture of Winsten that you would like to share with us we would love to see him.
  25. Yes those opossums can be feisty if cornered and they are disgusting creatures. I will tell you what I did with one that I saw a while back. We have a container that holds dog food on the carport and the lid was not on good and there was a bag with some cat food still in it, well I got the bag out to feed the cat and when I put my hand in to get some I felt something else besides cat food. A young possum was curled up inside the bottom of the bag, I guess he had eaten his fill and was taking a nap. Well needless to say, I jerked my hand out quick and threw the bag out on the ground and took a shovel and beat the heck out of him. I would get a trap and bait it and catch him and then you can do with him what you want.
