  1. Bella's weight at 453 grams is still within the normal range for greys especially Cags, some can weigh over 500 grams, as long as the keel bone is not hidden under too much flesh. Don't worry the vet is not going to chew you out, my Josey weighs around 415 grams, its just like anything else, some are more and some are less.
  2. Yes as they get older the eyes will turn a light yellow color, they start out at nearly black and then lighten up to gray and finally to a light yellowish color, they all do.
  3. Oh Kat you have had a hard time of it haven't you, but he will come around eventually like Dave said, some of them get very pissed off over things and it takes a while for them to get over it but he will.

    Cleo

    Sean, like Lovemygreys said, Cleo should be in some sort of carrier when you are driving, especially now that she is starting to bite at you, I can see an accident about to happen if you continue with this. Thats good and about at the right time for her to begin talking and yes it sounds more like mumbling at first but then it will become more clear.
  5. Thanks Kibibi, for sharing that with us, it was cute and funny.
  6. Hello and welcome to the family, Sean, glad you have decided to join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Cleo. So you must have had previous experience with birds if you hand fed and reared a 4 week old baby and you obviously have done a good job, not everyone here could do that, not even me. Is this the only parrot you have now? Please read thru the many threads here on various topics for lots of useful information, and ask specific questions if you have any. We will do our best to get an answer and help you in any way we can. If you have a picture of Cleo you would like to share with us please do we would love to see her.
  7. Thanks for the update on Edgar and I am glad it is going well for you and him. You are making good progress and eventually he may allow you to touch him somewhat, most will allow some neck scratches if nothing else. But realize some do not like to be touched much and he may very well be one of those. You are doing a good job with him and you are right to be patient, he will come around in his own good time.
  8. I can't wait, December 15 will be here before we know it.
  9. Well it's a little blurry but I can see how beautiful she is, Connie, bringing her home December 15, what a Christmas present she will be, thanks for sharing it with us.
  10. I wouldn't worry about her gaining weight if she is eating, playful and otherwise normal, she may just be one of the smaller ones, as long as the weight does not fluctuate much is the important thing.
  11. Thanks for the laughs on a Friday morning, you are something else you know that don't you. {Feel-good-0002006E}
  12. Mario, aka, Ziggy, has given you some excellent advice and he should know, he has lots of birds and experience, just keep working at it and in time he will do it for you.
  13. Thanks Shazbaby for sharing some photos with us, you have two beautiful greys and glad to hear they get along so great.

  16. The holiday season is a big time for any kind of thieves but yes bird thieves also and those are some of the worst kind, I hope those birds do take a chunk out of the culprits, would serve them right. {Emotions-00020077}

  21. I've seen those basketball sets and the roller skates for birds, that would be so funny to see them on those roller skates or even a skateboard. Reminds me of the amazon that was in Home Alone 3 that was riding a remote controlled car with a white rat, "Rat overboard, rat overboard":laugh:
  22. Thanks so much, Birdmom, for all the links, names, addresses and phone numbers of places that may be able to help this grey, my heart goes out to it too, and maybe it will find a home and not be by itself any longer.
  23. Laurie, I don't know whether to laugh or cry, maybe I will do both, I am going to hate 2008, I am a poll worker and there are going to be primaries to have to work because it is a presidential election next year. Lets just forget about that and get back to the holidays, bah humbug!!!! {Holidays-000200AF}
  24. Hello and welcome to the family, Hobbo, glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and your grey. How old is your grey and how long have you had him?
