  1. Ouch, now that hurt, sorry you got bit in the bottom lip, be more careful next time or will it be a next time:ohmy:
  2. Spinach What one food item do you hate the most?
  3. One of my favorite places too, Penny, we have good taste don't we:laugh:
  4. I'm surprised he won't eat pasta or oatmeal, Josey loves any kind of pasta but those would help to put on some weight. Poor thing if he does have some kind of parasite but the meds should take care of that and then maybe he can get back the weight and be his old self again soon. Let us know when you find out more.
  5. Hello Lovelylew and welcome to the family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and your new Cag. So this is your first larger bird having had cockatiels for a long time but greys are different from them as I'm sure you already know. They require more time and attention and are a lifetime committment. Five months is a good age to bring home your grey, it is fully weaned has been socialized also according to the breeder so yes it is ready to go to its new home. Take a little time and read thru the many threads for lots of useful information and do not hesitate to ask any questions you may have. We will do our best to get you some answers and help you in any way we can. When you do get your baby home if you would like to share some pictures with us we would love to see it.
  6. I haven't a clue Wendy but a few of the more knowledgeable members may have an idea but it is a good thing you are taking him to the vet, I would be worried too. Please let us know what you find out.
  7. Good for you Laurie, I know you can do it this time and I wish you the best of luck with it:cheer: :cheer:
  8. Hello Birdwomanceaser and welcome to the family, so glad you decided to join and we look forward to hearing more about you and your new Cag. Do you have any other birds besides this grey or any other animals? What did you name your grey? Just a couple of questions to get to know you better. Take a few minutes and read thru some of the many threads for lots of useful information and do ask questions if you have any. We will do our best to get you some answers and help you in any way we can. If you have some pictures of your grey you would like to share with us we would love to see her.
  9. We do need more info before we can advise you Malika. Then later you can introduce yourself in the welcome room and tell us a little about you and these two greys.
  10. I'll just bet he is a ladies man and spoiled rotten and you are a busy woman with 4 kids and you don't look old enough to have had that many kids. I only had two and my first one was a girl so I was also very happy to have a son for my second and last child but now I have 3 grandchildren, 1 boy and 2 girls and I spoil them rotten. As grandmother I can do that and then send them home:laugh: Thanks Ashley for sharing a little more information about your family with us.
  11. Some of the online bird sites have an indestribell that is encased in a hard plastic cover that they can't destroy, my Josey loves to grab ahold of that thing and give it a good pull so it goes banging, she can really give it he** sometimes.:woohoo:
  12. Why don't you tell us a little about the child in your photo, looks like a little sweetie to me?B)
  13. Hello Thomas and welcome to the family, so glad you could introduce yourself and tell us a little more about you and Rio. If your wife thinks you are nuts because you love greys then I guess we here are all nuts but we are crazy for our birds and only a bird lover can understand how we feel. Gosh you have made great progress to have only had Rio for one day and that is impressive and you are in for a lifetime of enjoyment from him. Take a little time and read thru many of the threads for lots of useful information and ask questions, I know you already have but there is no limit so ask all you want. We will do our best to get answers for you and help you in any way we can. If you have any pictures of Rio you would like to share with us we would love to see him.
  14. Congrats Ashley on the hatching of your baby grey, how exciting for you and you should be proud, yes please keep us updated on its progress and we are anxious to see pictures when you have them.
  15. Hello Ashley and welcome to the family, so glad you found us and joined and we look forward to hearing more about you and this new Tag. No one is a newbie here for long, we welcome anyone and everyone with a grey or an interest in greys. You jump right in and join the fun you won't regret it. I know August seems a lifetime away at the moment but it will pass and then you will have that precious baby for a very long time. From your picture it looks like you already have a precious human baby, looks adorable. While you are waiting for August read thru the many threads for lots of useful information and ask questions if you have any. We will do our best to get answers to them and help you in any way we can.
  16. Thanks Dave, as always he has the situation down pat, he knows grey behavior because he has been there and done that, he has a wealth of knowledge on this subject, you the man. B)
  17. Tracy has some excellent ideas and suggestions, follow them and see if you see any difference. But I am guessing that you have had her out more lately and now she is accustomed to that and maybe just sitting there waiting for you to come and get her, they can be a little difficult to figure out sometimes.
  18. Thanks Joe for sharing that link with us, we all need to be observant of our grey's beaks.
  19. Glad you took Dennis in to see the vet, 350 grams is a good weight but the true test is the keel bone, it should not be prominent. And his normal weight may be slightly more, when learning to fly they will usually lose a little from the activity of the flying itself. You should invest in a gram scale so you can keep check on his weight. You were right about that shopkeeper, he does not know much does he, trust your gut instincts.
  20. Thomas, why don't you introduce yourself in the welcome room and tell us a little more about you and Rio.
  21. Well glad to hear you now have a grey and a baby at that, sounds like he is very friendly and I do look forward to seeing some photos of Rio when you get the chance. Even though you have a 5 year old child, I would still be careful of letting the child handle the grey and certainly not without your supervision, young children tend to be quick and loud and greys don't take to that very well.
  22. Hello Tina and welcome to the family, glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and your dream bird, the grey. Isn't it amazing how the grey is the dream bird of a lot of bird people, the ultimate of birds, certainly not the most colorful but with a wonderful personality, no wonder they are so popular. You have an houseful of birds also with keets, cockatiels and conures, and I can relate to the mischeviousness of the conure, I have a sun conure and she is a character herself. Not that you need it but take a little time and read thru many of the threads for lots of useful information that may answer a few questions you may have. You can ask us any question and we will do our best to get you an answer and help you in any way we can. If you have any pictures of your grey you would like to share with us we would love to see it. We also have an other birds room where you can share some pictures of the other birds if you like. BTW, what is the name of your grey and do you know what sex it is?
  23. Why don't you start a new thread in the welcome room and introduce yourself and tell us a little about you and this new grey you are bringing home, Birdwomanceaser.
  24. I think you are gaining muscle from what I hear, you reckon:laugh:
  25. Gosh Penny you double posted and didn't clean it up, you slipping woman:laugh:   B)
