Yes we do Tracy:P

Kristine use this website to order a DNA test kit. www.avianbiotech.com

Hopefully that was what it was that was irritating his eye Yvette and yes Spence just had the same thing happen to his new grey, maybe this will be the end of it.
-
I agree with Tracy, any kind of reaction is enjoyable to them and they will continue it for that very reason. Her time out idea will work wonders also. And like Jane said, body language will tell you a lot about what is about to happen, you just have to learn how to read your birds language.B)

Thats hilarious, said goodbye and he probably meant it too, for it looks like he knows he is numero uno but she is there to stay.
-
I'm shaking in my shoes, Dan, bring it on if you got the guts:angry: BTW Siobhan, I have had many mamograms and they are uncomfortable to say the least but not as bad as protrayed in Joe's post, but how graphic a description he paints. And I agree, only a man could have designed something like that.
-
Yeah the proof will be in the pudding as the old saying goes.

I see the pic and he/she is precious, thanks for sharing it with us. Yeah at six weeks its probably too soon for him to be trying veggies and fruits but it certainly does no harm to offer it, soon he will.

He is still looking to your fingers as food givers, he remembers the hand feedings and he is also checking everything out. You have to remember they use their beak like we would one of our hands, they are going to explore and he is exploring you. As long as he is not biting then it is ok for a while but if he starts biting down harder then you will have to start telling him firmly "no bite" and he will eventually get the message. But for now he is investigating and I wouldn't worry about it for now. You can always try distracting him with a toy or something like that if you want to divert the biting and chewing. Be sure to check out some of the threads for information on this very thing, just do a search and it will bring up the pertinent ones.

Hello Mariam and welcome to the family, so glad you found us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Toonie. So you are handfeeding a six week old baby, and they are precious aren't they, and I am happy you feel that way about the white toe and toenail, they are gifts and not flaws. Here is a link to the FAQ page where info is about posting photos, read it thru and then you should be able to share some pics with us. http://www.greyforums.net/faqs/page_2.html Take a few minutes and read thru the many threads for lots of useful information and ask questions if you have any. We will do our best to get you some answers and help you in any way we can.

Yeah that Bella seems to take everything in stride, nothing seems to faze her but now Angie is a different story and I hope once you get her settled in she does ok. You seem to have one each on the broad spectrum of personalities, one that hates change and one that goes with the flow, but I think it will work itself out soon, 2Girls.
-
It may very well be normal but since Shani has not been to see a vet then it may be a good idea to take her in, at least it will settle your mind and you will know if she is fine and healthy and then it will serve as a baseline for future visits.
-
Jane one point I want to make is to be sure you do everything first for the one that was there first, that is No 1 bird, since he was there first he should come first. I know you care for them equally but in their mind the one that was there first should get first dibs so they know their place. I echo Siobhan's suggestion that you supervise their time out together so they don't hurt one another until you feel you can trust them. Like the gum it is double the fun and double the pleasure:laugh: B)

Oh yes I see her this time and she is gorgeous too, thanks for sharing her pic with us.

When I read your post I thought of that song "I'm in Heaven", thats what it would be like with all those babies, but I'm sure it has its drawbacks too, look she didn't take a vacation for 20 years, now thats dedication.:cheer: But even though your Jenna is attached to the breeder right now, and that is to be expected, after all she is the source of her food, that will change after you bring her home. Boy you are in for a real treat when homecoming time comes but it won't be soon enough will it:S

Hello BooBaby and welcome to the family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Boo. This is always a special time in your life when you bring that new grey baby home and I envy you for it is precious indeed. They are only babies once and like any other animal they grow up too quickly. Thats great that the breeder kept you informed of everything concerning your baby until you were able to take over for yourself, thats very conscientious of the breeder to do that for not all do. Take a little time and read thru the many threads for lots of useful and helpful information and ask questions if you have any. We will do our best to get you some answers and help you in any way we can. If you have some pictures of Boo you would like to share with us we would love to see them.

They are so smart Teresa, it would not surprise me in the least if she vocalises her need to go potty one day but hey in the meantime let her do her business on DavE, who says she isn't clever enough already:laugh:
-
Thats great to hear, Christoph and he will be back to his old weight before long if this keeps up, and keep us updated on his progress.
-
Rick, I am glad to hear you are not gonna get one of those babies, I can't imagine shipping out 2 week old babies thru the airlines to people who may or may not know how to hand feed them or take proper care of them. This person is in it strictly for the money, nothing else. I can't suggest a breeder close to you but I can give you the website where you can look for breeders by state. www.avianconnection.com

Can't you take a joke Joe, thats all it is is a joke, you know I never intentionally try to hurt anyone on this forum. Now about the reason you were away, how was we to know that there had been a death in your family and other problems, I am so sorry for your loss, and I mean that from the bottom of my heart. Now can we get back to having a little fun here, Dan and DavE have taken up where you left off and I have been myself as always.
-
Nah you are not obsessing, how in the world could we think that, I am glad to hear that you did check the paint out before using, I just wanted to make sure for no one wants anything to happen to your baby, you would be surprised at how many might not have even thought of that possibility. Now if that month would just go by quickly you would have it made.
-
Thanks Imme, but wasn't nothing:blush:
-
She's a beauty just like all the other grey babies, they are so adorable at that age, thanks for sharing a pic with us. Now about that cage, you painted over the rust spots, what kind of paint did you use? Bird cages are usually powder coated type of paint, I would check and see if what you used is safe for your baby as you cannot use just any type of paint.
-
I agree, greys will want to be where the action is and the room where the family congregates is the ideal place for the cage.B) BTW, I would get rid of any teflon coated pans and such, you would not want to use them with the grey in the house.

You are very excited as well you should be and I know you will think that Sunday will never get here but it will, I am excited and happy for you, this is a special time for you, the bringing home of the baby. I look forward to seeing lots of pics when he arrives, the babies are so adorable with their dark eyes.
