Well I hope it clears it up and try feeding him his favorite foods for the time being to get him to eat more.
Poor little fella, its no fun when you don't feel good.
I like it the way it is also but you won't be battling with this chick in no thong, I don't do pole, lap or thong so I guess verbal will just have to do for now.
We do need a few good men so where are they, pickins is mighty slim right now, come on guys I don't hurt........ much:woohoo: B) :cheer:
My Josey is out of her cage for more than 2-3 hours a day, more like 4-5 hours with more on the weekend. But actually interacting with her is less but she is around me or us for most of that time.
Tracy is right Spence, don't ever feel stupid, we care deeply about our babies so therefore we are going to be very concerned about anything out of the ordinary. Just glad to hear it was something in the eye irritating it and now it is out and he/she is fine.
Gloria I too have heard about that "sudden red in the eye" because if they get very stressed they rupture those tiny vessels in the eye and it appears to bleed, very common in greys.
Glad to hear that Jengo is feeling better and soon he will be back to his old self but the vet couldn't really find anything wrong, at least she put him on some kind of antibiotic for something is not quite right.
If you do find out anything more please let us know and keep us updated on his progress.
Happy Easter to everyone and their families out there in grey land, hope you have a safe and happy time and the Easter bunny comes to see you.B)

I have a better idea, use aloe vera juice straight from the container for bathing, put some in a clean spraying container and soak the bird with it, makes the feathers softer and it is soothing for the skin.
Not in your wildest dreams Dan, I don't do pole or lap dances, waiter, cut that man off right now, he's had enough, he's drunker than a skunk, jeez:woohoo:
LMAO LOL I'd like to be a fly on the wall at your house, it must be a hoot, never a dull moment with Bella and Jiggy, glad you are moving and not me but I love these stories of yours Terri, you keep me in stitches!!!

Well said Dave and that is exactly the way it is here at my house, my sun conure was my first and she gets everything first before my grey. She knows she is No 1 and Josey knows she is No 2 but I love them equally:kiss:
Hello Nick and welcome to the family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and your new grey.
Clippling the wings is a personal choice and one you will have to make for yourself. You will find a lot here in this forum about clipping the wings and members will share their thoughts about it with you.
I clipped my Josey's wings to begin with but now I am letting them grow out. I want her to be able to fly all over the house if she so desires and maybe take her outside on a harness and allow her some time in the fresh outdoors.
Take some time and read thru the many threads for lots of useful and helpful information and do not hesitate to ask questions you may have. We will do our best to get you some answers and help you in any way we can.
When you do get this grey would you share some pictures of it with us, we love to admire each other's greys.
First and foremost I will ask whether you have ever had other birds before because a grey is not the ideal parrot to start off with, they can be very demanding of your time.
Now if you do decide to go with a grey then it is not necessary to have an entire room for them, a large care is sufficient with time out when you are home. That cage should be where the rest of the family is the most when they are home like the living or family room. Greys like to be part of the flock with you and your partner being the other flock members.
Two greys bought together will probably bond to each other and not form a close relationship with either you or your partner. Two from separate sources may or may not get along and probably won't so you would not be able to have them in the same cage or area together.
The best age to get an grey is after it has been fully weaned and eating on its own and that varies from bird to bird with some being ready at 12 weeks to maybe 18-20 weeks of age, the breeder you purchase it from will be the judge of that.
If this is your first parrot I would recommend you get a baby grey as an older rehomed bird usually comes with baggage meaning it has behaviors formed already that you may or may not be able to deal with.
Now if you still are interested in getting a grey whydon't you introduce yourself in the welcome room and tell us a little more about you.
Spence, she may have scratched her eye and it is irritated and that would explain the red on the bottom but I would at least call the vet and get their opinion on whether Chloe should be seen. I know vet visits are very expensive but you don't want to take a chance with your baby.
Let us know what you find out.
I hate to break it to you but these last 7 days will be the longest of your life, waiting for that baby to come home but believe me the wait will be worth it.
You can read every word in this forum, every book on greys and as much of the information that you find out there on the internet but nothing really prepares you for that actual arrival, some things you just have to learn for yourself or wing it.
But we are here for you after you bring him home so if you have any questions all you have to do is ask.
You are doing the right thing in taking him in for a checkup at the vet's office, weight loss is not a good sign and if he has never been then he definitely needs to go.
Let us know what you find out about Jengo.
Ouch is right Heather, I'm so sorry you got bit but that happens sometimes, looks painful:( and she had the gall to call you a turkey:blink: , bad girl:angry:
