Well a few do scream, we have had a couple members post such a problem here before. As always Dave has provided very knowledgeable info, he is well respected here as someone who knows greys well, thanks for another fine post.

Those are some cute pictures of Dennis, thanks so much for sharing them with us Fal.

Aww come on Tracy don't stop now, it was just getting real good but you do what you want. I enjoy all this back and forth between the men and the women for men will be men and women will be women and nothing is ever going to change that. Besides I get a laugh out of every post whether its from the men or us. B)  :woohoo: :cheer:

Well Beth if you have been lurking for a month no wonder you have already read them all:P I think you will be a fine and wonderful parront for a grey, with all the research and reading you are doing you have to be and that grey will be so lucky to have you too.

Hello Beth and welcome to the family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to learning more about you and your plan of getting your own grey. You are doing the right thing in waiting and researching before you make that purchase and waiting until the remodeling is finished is a wise decision. There is so much fumes and chemicals around when doing that kind of remodeling. You can make wise use of your time to read thru the many threads for lots of useful information and do ask questions for we will do our best to get you some answers and help you in any way we can.

Yeah we are all looking forward to that event and those pictures too.

My sun is a velcro bird most all the time, she loves nothing better than to sit on my shoulder all day and get into whatever I am doing and yes I can't eat anything without her having some of it LOL:laugh:

Hello Nick and welcome to the family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Bobby. At 16 months old he is probably starting to assert some independence and probably is not as cuddly as he once was, I know mine at 22 months is more her own self now and not babish, but don't you just love your grey. Do you have any other birds or animals in your household? If you do what are they and what are their names? Take a little time and read thru the many threads for lots of useful information and ask all the questions you want. We will do our best to get some answers for you and help you in any way we can. If you have any pictures of Bobby you would like to share with us we would love to see him.

Awww what a cute little conure, and will her coloring change any as she matures? My sun conure had a lot of green on her back that has now changed to yellow and orange now that she is over 3 years old, thats why I ask. Thanks for sharing that with us and I bet she is a delight to have as mine is a character.

Thanks Melanie for another good site for DNA testing for cheap.

15 year old grey with an attitude.....suggestions?
judygram replied to McKinzie4me's topic in The GREY Lounge
Even though you have had McKinzie for six months she is 15 years old and has been neglected all her life, plus she has baggage that you may or may not be able to rid her of. Thats a shame that her previous owners did her that way and no wonder she is the way she is, she doesn't trust anyone. A woman may not have harmed her for some greys do favor one sex over the other and there is not much you can do about that. She views her cage as her sanctuary, where she feels most secure so she is not apt to want to come out to the outside where she feels vulnerable. But do encourage her to come out by offering treats and talking sweetly to her. Time and patience are what you need now for this will take time but I think it is possible to bring her out of her shell, but it won't be easy. I doubt you will ever be able to cuddle with her, most greys are not cuddlers, most are as babies but a lot of them grow out of it. But you should be able to establish a good relationship with her if you continue to work with her and be patient. Some of the other members will have some more suggestions for you also, maybe better than mine. -
Hello Michelle and welcome to the family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and your new grey. Don't worry about your English, even those of us with English as our only language have trouble with it, forgetaboutit. Whether or not you choose male or female it doesn't matter which but when you see both of them see which one reacts better to your presence, sometimes the grey picks you and not vice versa. Take a little time and read thru the many threads for lots of useful information and do not hesitate to ask questions you may have. We will do our best to get you some answers and help you in any way we can.

I echo Tracy's suggestion, you really need to take George in to see the vet sooner than April 3, with some weight lost plus not eating much and sleeping a lot he needs medical attention ASAP. I wouldn't delay if I were you Steve.

Hello Midnight and welcome to the family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and this new grey you plan to get. I know you are so excited and it will be a while before you can bring it home but you will at least have plenty of time to get things ready for that day. I know 12-16 weeks sounds like a long time but it will fly by before you know it but you have a decision to make whether to get a Cag or a Tag. To help pass some of that time please read thru as many of the threads as you can for lots of useful and helpful information and do ask questions you may have. We will do our best to get you some answers and help you in any way we can.

Hello Heather and welcome to the family, so glad you decided to join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and hopefully your new grey. You have a varied collection of animals and a grey will make a nice addition, especially since you already have a conure. I have a sun conure and I enjoy her a lot. You are doing the right thing in joining now before you make that purchase, now you can learn all you need to know by reading thru the many threads for lots of useful information and ask questions if you have any. We will do our best to get you some answers and help you in any way we can. If you would like to post a few pictures of your conure and/or the other animals you can put them in the other birds room, we would love to see them if you would like to share them with us.

Probably for a discount rate too Berna:whistle:
