Do you have any toys for him, if not you need to get something for him to play with. We have a few threads here that has lots of ideas for homemade toys and other items that make good grey toys. Just do a search with the words toys and see what comes up. You will have to gradually introduce new things to him slowly and maybe play with them yourself to let him see that they are fun.

Imme, if you cannot wait to pick him up a couple of hours later then I think he may be ok with you gone a couple of hours. He needs a little time to settle into his cage but not more than a couple of hours. He needs to know you are around for he is going to be in a new situation, new home, new cage and with new people. I don't blame you, I would not want to miss the pet expo either especially if there were bird stuff there also. I can't wait until he comes home as I'm sure you can't either, sure will be a long week for you.

Well maybe I can find some time to check him out, I love listening to a good man and talking about birds makes it that much more appealing.

Chint, I am so sorry to hear of the loss of one of your beloved greys, how devastating for you but without the necropsy you will never know what was the cause and you really need to know for the safety of the other grey. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers for help in dealing with your loss for I cannot imagine what you are going thru right now.

My you do have a young one and it will be a while before you get to bring it home but I know how you feel and that it will feel like forever until that day comes. There are too many greys out there in need of a good home and if that is the route you want to take then we will help you with your quest. Have you checked for bird rescues in your area? Check with local vets and area bird clubs to see what they know. Google the internet to find out what is offered. As I also live in Virginia there is a rescue that I know of but it is based in NC but it might be a good place to start, Phoenix Landing, their website is www.phoenixlanding.org Take a few minutes and read thru the many threads for lots of useful information and do not hesitate to ask questions you may have. We will do our best to get you some answers and help you in any way we can.
