  1. Josey preens my hair occasionally but unlike you Suzzique if she pulled out only the grey ones I would be bald:ohmy: :woohoo:
  2. Hello Smoke, I see from the pics that it is a Tag and a good looking one at that and not a baby grey either, thanks for sharing the pics with us.
  3. Loki is one spoiled grey and he/she isn't even home yet, I love the job you did on the playstand, Loki is going to love it. Thanks for sharing it with us, you should be very proud of it.
  4. Hello Pugnacious and welcome to the family, so glad you have joined us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Smoke. Congrats on your new member of your flock, do you have any other parrots or birds? I assume this is a baby grey, is it a Tag or a Cag? Please read thru the many threads for lots of useful information and do ask any and all questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. I would love to see some pics of Smoke when you can post some.
  5. Elaine you certainly have your priorities straight, you go girl.
  6. Those are some nice stands Patrick and you did a good job with them, thanks for sharing some pics of them with us.
  7. Thanks Erika for sharing the pics with us, he is playing with his toys and my Josey likes those balls too, very good foot toys. Most of them do like any kind of bells and love to bang them around making all kinds of noise but ya gotta love them for it.B)
  8. Well at least you have some bird experience and if you need anything all you have to do is ask. I commend you on taking the barn cats in to the vet to be fixed as I know some who don't bother doing that but that is why we have so many in the shelters needing homes.

Terry you obviously love this little darling to death and you were meant to have her in your life and you seem like the kind of person who would do all you could to make Jesse's life the best she could ever have. She will never know that she is different but not everyone could have taken on the task you have obviously taken on willingly. I am so proud of you and if she does learn to perch it will be because of your love and attention to working with her to make her the best she can be. I am sure she is perfect in your eyes. Thanks for letting us get to know her and you for we are so blessed for it.
  10. Thanks for sharing those little cuties with us Granny, I mean Auntie, no I am sticking with Granny Siobhan.
  11. Hello Hrund nd welcome to the family, so glad you decided to join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Nokkvi. That is a wonderful thing you did in taking in this Tag and you won't regret it if you give him lots of time and use much patience when working with it. Being an older bird it will take longer for him to bond with you and to learn to trust you but don't rush it, just let it happen in good time. He does need time out of the cage but you will have to be very careful of your cats when he is. Not only can he hurt your cats or they catch him but if one of them would get a hold of him and break his skin, even if it didn't do any real damage to him the saliva from the cats mouth could kill him because of the bacteria they carry. Please read thru the many threads or lots of useful information and do ask any and all questions and we will help you in any way we can. I look forward to seeing some pics when you can manage to get some for us.
  12. Hello Jen and welcome to the family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and your new grey. You have certainly come to the right place if you are looking for experienced grey owners who know their birds and love them unconditionally, we are all nuts about our greys. You will find a lot of information in our many threads so please read thru them at your leisure and do ask any and all questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. Do you have any other birds or is this grey your first parrot?
  13. You're funny Dan but I was kind of hoping that Fay would make her way further north to bring us some much needed rain, it is so dry here the grass crinkles under your feet.
  14. I am so sorry to hear of this Dutch, I had no idea that teflon was in those microwave bags, and I will no longer use them either, this stuff keeps popping up in so many things that we never even thought of. Thanks for sharing your story with us for it may save another grey's life but my thoughts and prayers are with you now.
  15. I like all those pretty colors on your playstand and I will do mine the same way, thanks Carolyn for sharing it with us.
  16. Why don't you try putting a small stuffed animal in the box with him/her for company and to snuggle up with. This is what the breeder did for my grey as she was the only grey baby she was feeding.
  17. You have that right Dan, we have to be very careful of what we say and do and you can take the 5th if I can plead the 5th also:ohmy:
  18. I agree, that grey is definately upset and do not attempt to touch one when reacting that way as a bite would surely be next.:pinch: I would have rather not heard that growl:blink: but thanks for sharing that with us Dan.
  19. Yeah like Dan said it is a sign of affection and I think most do like their beaks rubbed as I do to Josey;)
  20. Matt you have two beautiful greys in Ponti and Maggie, thanks for sharing them with us.
  21. Hello Natasha and welcome to the family, so glad you finally decided to join us and quit lurking:lol: You are doing the right thing to ask questions and research all you can before you make the final decision to get a grey for it requires a lifetime committment and you need to know what you are getting into before you take that final plunge. You will learn much on this site as you already are finding out and we have literally thousands of threads with lots of useful and helpful information that will help guide you in the right direction. Do ask any and all questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can.
  22. Carolyn, you use it straight from the bottle, undiluted and right after a bath or shower.:cheer:
  23. nims wrote: Yes you do have to watch what you say around them. Josey did the same thing a while back when my hubby and I had a cold and was coughing a lot, Josey started making coughing sounds but they cannot actually cough. Leave it to Dan to mention breaking wind, I bet that is why he goes out often to walk the dobies, it gives him a chance to let off "gas" heh heh heh:laugh: :woohoo:
  24. Tango already has you wrapped around his little talon hasn't he, clever bird. The others have given you the best advice, quit feeding him on hand and foot and let him pick up his own meals.
