  1. There is a world of difference in these pics and the previous ones, she is clean like she should be and so pretty too, you should be very proud of her, thanks for sharing these with us. Is that Bryan in the background holding her?:cheer:
  2. Thats what I do too Suzanne, Josey and Sunny's cages are in the family room and we are still up with the TV on for another hour and you don't hear a peep out of either of them, they either go to sleep or just sit quietly and I cover them up with a black sheet.
  3. Matismom, why don't you introduce yourself in the welcome room and tell us a little more about you and Mati.

    I got Josey some rawhide dog bones and gave her one and she promptly dropped it but I amnot giving up yet, no siree, not me.:huh: :cheer:
  5. Truth be told I like the smell of birds but yes a wet one might turn the nose up a bit:S :lol:
  6. Take it easy there Berna, watch out for Granpas and Granmas, at least none of them are mine:laugh: but Fay just won't quit but at least she is going to be dropping some rain our way tomorrow and we need it so much aswe are dry as a chip.
  7. Alex is a smart grey, thanks for sharing that with us Suzzique, btw I think your screen name is so cool. The cleverist thing that Josey has done so far is say shut up at the most appropriate time. Sunny, my sun conure likes to scream sometimes and she was in her cage doing just that and my hubby and I were watching TV and all of a sudden Josey said shut up to Sunny, I laughed so hard at that one.:laugh: :laugh: :laugh:
  8. I don't notice any smells associated with my birds likeI did with the cat, boy that cat box could knock you down but as long as you keep the cages clean there shouldn't be any odors.

    Don't forget the rawhide dog bones {Feel-good-0002006E}
  10. Believe me we would:woohoo: :laugh: :whistle:
  11. I agree that 6 days is not nearly enough time for a 6 year old grey to be comfortable in his new surroundings. Take everything slow and easy, the step ups will be easier to teach when he trusts you and only time and lots of patience will achieve that.
  12. I hear ya loud and clear:whistle: :ohmy:
  13. I got some rawhide dog bones today myself and gave one to Josey, she promptly threw it down, I am gonna soak one so I can untie the ends and put it around her cage bars then see what she does with it, to be continued...
  14. He may or may not talk but he needs to settle in and feel comfortable before he does. But even if he doesn't talk he will be an awesome companion, there is more to a grey than the ability to talk, you will find out more about that as time goes on.
  15. Sorry Tiffani, it just looked like something else there with her laying on the bed:blush: I stand corrected:whistle: :laugh:
  16. I guess its all in what you get used to but mine get silence for sleep.:cheer:
  17. T stands for Timneh as in Timneh african grey, Tag for short Erika.
  18. Susan ain't leaving, I won't allow it, plain and simple. {Communicate-0002011A}
  19. Just like a small child she is happy with a cheap plastic bowl to have fun with, thanks Tracy for sharing that with us, she is a beauty and she does fly very well, you are doing an excellent job with her.B)
  20. Hello Barbara and welcome to the family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and your new baby grey. Don't worry, I don't think he will change his mind about bonding with you after the hand feeding is all done, I think you are set for life. You must be new to parrots if you had to do a lot of reading to find out some of the things about greys that you didn't already know and you will find out a lot more by continuing to read thru all the threads. We have tons of good information that will help you in the coming days, weeks, months and years of this newfound friendship. If we can be of any help all you have to do is ask. If you have some pictures of this new grey you would like to share with us we would love to see him/her.
  21. Thanks for sharing that link on captive foraging for parrots with us and it is very important to provide these opportunities for our greys.
  22. Thats a cute little puppy Tiffani and so small and cuddly looking, thanks for sharing Morgan with us. Are you sure its a she, looks like a he to me:whistle:
  23. Have you tried youtube, a lot of members use that.:dry:
  24. Let him settle in and get used to his new surroundings aand then as he feels more comfortable he will come out for longer periods. Greys by nature are very cautious creatures and his cage is his safe zone, he will let you know when he is ready for more.
  25. Well I will have to catch me a daddy long legs and see what Josey does with it, I also live in the rural country but I don't have too many bugs inside the house as I have one of those electronic repellents too.:blink:
