  1. Speak for yourself Siobhan:whistle: :lol: but Dan is the only man with the guts to post in our thread so that makes him ok in my book;) :cheer:
  2. I'm with you Suzanne, anything I am eating Josey wants too but cheese is her favorite I think.B)
  3. I just bet that was fun for Tigerlily and I should try that too as we have some corn in the garden now, thanks for the idea.:lol:
  4. This is a little puzzling to me and her being just 6 months old is unusual but has anything changed in her home, any new people, furniture, new clothes or whatever, sometimes a change will make them act differently. If not then maybe it is a time for a checkup by an avian vet, maybe she is feeling poorly. Is she eating and drinking normally and getting her proper amount of sleep? Maybe some of the more experienced grey members will have some better ideas for I am stumped at the moment.:huh:
  5. Pat I am sorry to hear about Bandit's toe, the poor thing, but you have already done about all you can to make him as comfortable as you can, lowering his perches and putting his food low so he can reach it without much climbing. He is a lucky little fella to have a loving and caring mom like you to take care of him.
  6. Me too, I keep saying I learn something new here every day and I believe it, who would've thought that sound would turn to heat, thanks Bryan for clearing that up for us.:huh:
  7. They should have at least 2 baths a week and they need to be soaked good, this will reduce the dust and help their skin from being so itchy when they are molting. Some take their birds into the shower and do it or put some water in the tub and bathe them that way, try it both ways and see which is best for yours. You might be able to do it in the sink, some greys like baths and some don't but they need to bathe whether they like it or not. We do have some threads that will help you with this, just do a search to find them.
  8. Hello Nith and welcome to the family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and this new grey. Haved you named your grey yet and do you know the sex? I would imagine we all would do things a little differently if we could do it over again but you have found us now and that is what counts. We have lots of knowledgeable members who go out of their way to help one another, all you have to do is ask. Please continue to read thru the many threads for lots of useful information and do ask any and all questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. If you have some pictures of this grey you would like to share with us we would love to see him.
  9. Josey shares our house with a sun conure, a zebra finch, my hubby and I. I used to have a cat but she passed away this summer:( But I have a cat outside and 2 dogs, they aren't house pets.

    baby food

    Josey likes the sweet potatoes, butternut squash and carrots.
  11. I think you got that turned around a bit Dan, your bod is probably that of a 70 year old and your mind is more like that of a 6 year old child and your real age is what, I bet you will never see 60 again, am I right? {Feel-good-0002006E}
  12. Thats just like a man isn't it!!! {Feel-good-0002006E}
  13. If he chooses to he will, greys have a mind of their own and say what they choose to say, sometimes you can repeat a word or phrase to them many times over and they will never repeat it and then on the other hand they hear it once and repeat it over and over, go figure. They usually do go thru several times during the day when they are vocal, repeating words and sounds they like and then other times they are as quiet as a church mouse.
  14. Congo is a female Suzanne, I was right all along. Roger made another thread about the results, I guess you missed it.:huh: :whistle: :laugh:
  15. Oh you're just a baby then, my you do have a lifetime ahead of you, you might be one of the youngest members.
  16. Happy Hatchday to Lyric, Josey was two years old in May so she is a little older, I bet pizza is one of her favorite treats, enjoy.
  17. Its best to check with the airline to see what the requirements are for a carrier, they have to be a certain size to go under the seat where they usually put them then you can look for a suitable one.

    ? of eating

    He may just prefer the veggies cooked and softer but continue to offer them in various ways, sometimes it just takes a while and then bam one day they eat them. Have a look thru the bird food room for lots of ideas and even recipes.
  19. Bryan you can get the test done for about $25 if you do it by mail, try www.avianbiotech.com
  20. You are so right Erika, greys are smarter than we give them credit for, it surprises us all the time. Keep these stories going, they are wonderful to read.
  21. Well it doesn't take much to get me confused Tiffani at my age I am surprised if I get anything right but glad to hear that the introduction to Tuki went well.
  22. That would be hilarious if you could capture that on video and share it with us then we all can roll around on the floor laughing PMSL Didn't you already know that greys are just like small children, well you know now, enjoy:laugh: :lol:
  23. You may have named him or her just right but if you do the DNA test then we can guess which sex Loki is, are you game!!!:cheer: :whistle:
  24. If the vet demands it, don't you want to know for your own peace of mind? I wanted to know the sex of my grey so I could name it.
  25. DNA will tell for sure but in any case he/she is a real cutie and now you just have to wait and wait and wait..................
