  1. I agree, if she is eating and otherwise acting normal just keep an eye on her for any further developments.
  2. I especially like the first head shot of Sophie, they are all good pictures but that one is the best of the three.
  3. Well I guess it was just meant to be then, lucky you and lucky Henry.
  4. There is Henry, nice looking grey, looks like he is chewing on a pacifier, those are great toys, thanks for sharing a pic of him with us.
  5. Well good for Houdini, yes they usually like anything they can tear up or pull apart but glad to hear you found something that worked.
  6. My grey's name is Josey. Have you picked your baby out yet? Have the babies been sexed yet?

    upset

Dave is right but I will add that if she only puts his food and water in the cage then he has to go back inside the cage to eat or get a drink and when he does shut him up if she wants him back in the cage, problem solved. GorgAss, you can talk to the woman and see if she wants to join our family to get some advice but let her know it is not the right thing to do to shut him up in his cage all the time. Yes I agree, some people should not have birds or any pets for that matter:angry:
  8. I can understand where you are coming from Linnea, you already know that getting a former breeding pair that you won't be handling them much if at all, you just want to give them a good home and everything they need to spend the rest of their life in peace. A lot of the older pairs end up in some kind of rescue place which in itself is not such a bad idea, it just depends on where it is and who is running it. I just recently visited a rescue place that has a fantastic facility for housing greys that are retired from breeding. They have a somewhat natural like environment with places to perch and plenty of room to move around and even fly for short distances. I hope it works out for you Linnea and keep us informed of what develops for you.
  9. Better watch out Kim, Dayo will be jumping into the trash can so he can say "whoops" because you were laughing at him, omg he may have found a new game to play, thanks Kim for making me laugh PMSL {Feel-good-0002006E}

What a funny name for a sun conure but I love it, my sun's name is Sunny, real original I know but since I didn't have her dna'd to determine sex I chose a name that could be either, I refer to call her a female and I have my suspicions that she is indeed a she but I don't care what she is, she is my first parrot. They certainly are bright and yours is no exception, thanks for sharing a pic of Fruitloop with us.
  11. Hello Bob and welcome to our family, we are so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and your fids. I also have a sun conure and she can be loud at times but she is also very sweet, she is my bird but she does go to some others, it just depends on who it is but one thing is for sure she is a shoulder ornament, thats where you will find her when she is out of her cage. I can imagine that it gets very loud sometimes at your apartment when your fids get vocal, I don't have a problem since I live in the country and have no close neighbors. My grey Josey is very quiet except for her vocal times but she is fond of saying shut up to my conure in response to her screams. You will find lots of useful information in our many threads and do ask questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. Thanks for including a picture of your grey in your introduction post and btw, what is your grey's name?
  12. Diane, go to the forums tab at the top of the home page, click on it and the rooms comes up, go down several until you come to the nursery room, there are many threads there that will be of some help to you since you are bringing home a baby grey.
  13. What a little scroundrel he is, "gosh dang it" that is just too cute Kim, thanks for sharing that with us.B)
  14. Hello Diane and welcome to our family, we are so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and your new baby grey. I hope you have read and researched so you will know what to expect when you bring that baby grey home for you are committing to a lifetime with a bird that demands a certain amount of your time and depends on you for its very existence. You will find lots of useful information in our many threads so do read thru them at your leisure and do ask questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. Those are some beautiful babies in your avatar and I look forward to seeing some of your actual baby when you can get us some.
  15. Sophie is a beautiful grey and I look forward to following her progress thru this thread, what a wonderful idea this is.
  16. Thats what I do also with Josey, she will tolerate a shower but she doesn't enjoy it for she won't open up her feathers so she will get drenched but I do the best I can.
  17. Thanks for the laugh Jill and I giggled also, glad you found it and shared with us.  B)
  18. Harley is adorable in his big new cage, soon he will be climbing all around it, thanks for sharing the pictures with us.
  19. Willow actually plays with her yellow duck, Josey ignores hers, she is very pretty and so is Diego and that is about the sweetest face I have seen on a dog, Lily is adorable, thanks for sharing a few pics with us.
  20. The temperature is supposed to top out at around 95 today and the humidity is high so you sweat easy, yesterday we had a thunderstorm and maybe today we will have another one, it will cool it off slightly but make the humidity even higher, fall is looking better and better.
  21. Me too Julie, and my hubby is one of them, he still doesn't quite understand how I feel about my fids, he tells me from time to time, you have bird (expletive) poop on your back, well so what I tell him, it all comes out in the wash, even the kids say I don't want no (expletive) poop in my food!! Sometimes I wish it was only me and my birds, everyone else can take a hike!
  22. I would imagine that George will be back to his old self in a couple more days, it was a bit of a stress on him with you being away and now you are concerned about Sony and George is picking up on that too as they are very sensitive to our emotions. Never say never about not going away again, maybe the next time you can take George with you.
  23. Thanks Caitlin for that wonderful idea, I have one of those things but I have only put those seed sticks in it, never thought about filling it up with veggies, sometimes this old brain of mine doesn't function properly:blink: oh I know I am having a senior moment:whistle: I have a lot of them lately. Karma to you Caitlin for the light bulb going off in my head!
  24. Caroline I know this has hit you hard but as I told you before, the pain of your loss will pass as death is an inevitable part of living, its a fate we all must face sooner or later. You have your memories of her to cherish now but your friends here are ready to help you if you need it, all you have to do is ask but you have my condolenses on your loss and I am thinking of you as you go thru the next couple of days.
