  2. Ok I am guessing A is Charlie, B is Keeko and C is Jasper. Oh boy a photo shoot, can't wait. :cheer:
  3. Ouch, poor Kea, accidents do happen but it looks like she will be fine and they do grow back as Dan said but keep us informed.
  4. He is a baby and babies try to hide under their mother but no mother was present except for you so he snuggled up to you for either warmth or security of being hid.
  5. That is a great picture Caroline and Caitlin may be right about who is who in the one of all three, is she right? I will agree they are very beautiful greys indeed, thanks for sharing these pics with us.
  6. They look so nice sitting there even though they are as far apart as they can get, maybe they have agreed to disagree and tolerate each other for the time being.
  7. Keep trying the vegetables Deb, maybe you haven't hit on the ones he likes or the way he prefers them, sometimes it takes a while to figure out which ones they like and sometimes they prefer certain ones fixed a certain way. Try them raw, cooked, mashed, cubed and chopped but the main thing is to keep offering them, sometimes they will ignore them for a while then one day eat them.

  9. I haven't tried almond butter, bet that is good, where do you get that may I ask? I do feed a lot of what we eat to my fids, like this evening I had spaghetti and steamed squash, they had some of that and right now we have a lot of vegetables out of the garden so they have been having corn on the cob, tomatoes, peppers, squash, cabbage, beets, green beans and cucumbers plus we have some fruits we grow like cherries, strawberries, grapes, apples, pears, blueberries and raspberries both black and red.
  10. If you are talking about that jelly spread that is just fruit, I forget the name of it, it has no added sugar then that would probably be ok but anything that has any kind of sugar added to it is a no no. Fresh fruit does have natural sugar in it but when you talk about jelly it is more than half sugar, that is way too much for greys. Vegetables are preferable to fruits when feeding your grey but a lot of fruits do have vitamins and nutrients that make them a good addition to their diet.
  11. I just wanted to tell you that you will fit in real nicely here as all of us are a little nuts about our greys and only grey lovers understand how we feel so you are in good company.
  12. I pretty much let Josey eat most of what we have for dinner, of course no onions, raw or cooked or mushrooms. In fact just this evening Josey had some spaghetti, she loves any kind of pasta. The peanut butter would be ok without the jelly as it is mainly just sugar. Some members here give those flavored instant oatmeal pouches, just fix them according to directions and you don't need to add any milk to it. I would tend to stay away from a lot of processed foods as they tend to contain too much added salt. I believe we have some threads here in the bird food room that have the things listed that are forbidden, just do a search to find them. Greys are very cautious creatures, they are scared of anything they don't know what it is, even food items so introduce them slowly and maybe eat some in front of her so she can see it is ok for her, sometimes just seeing you eat it will make her want it.
  13. Hello MGardeness and welcome to our family, we are so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Toebie. What a cute name and I like the spelling too in reference to his white toe, seems we have at least one other member who has a grey with a white toe but I don't remember who it was. He is about at his full weight by now, they grow fast and I doubt he puts on any additional weight but he is a big boy alright. What kind of parrots are the other three? I have a sun conure along with my Cag, Josey who is 3 years old. Wow you don't have many finches do you, do you breed them? You will find lots of useful information in our many threads so do read thru them and ask questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. We love pictures here so if you have some of Toebie you would share with us we would appreciate it, we also have an other birds room where you can share some of the other parrots too if you like.
  14. That really was a good deal on that adventure pack, I know you will really like it when you get it.
  15. The others are correct, some greys will pick favorites and only go to those people and that is what Nelson is doing, they do have their own personalities and Cass is more outgoing and accepting of other people. When you have more than one grey you get to see how one differs from another but its all normal behavior.
  16. Harley is such a pretty bird, I just love his colors and he has a beautiful long tail, what a gorgeous hunk, thanks for sharing the video and pictures with us. Dan he did gurge just a little, you could see it in his beak, he brought up some food but not enough to give Pat.
  17. I found it today in Kroger, it comes in smooth and crunchy but Josey is not a big fan of peanut butter but Sunny is, she will dive right into it and eat.
  18. That is a very sweet picture of your sleeping Tag, what a cutie, thanks for sharing it with us.
  19. We have a Krogers here and the "private selection" is Krogers premium brand but I haven't seen that particular product, will have to check it out.
  20. Nikki a lot of the grey members have a cat or cats and if you supervise any time your bird is out of his cage then you should do ok. Yes cat saliva is deadly to birds, they have bacteria in their mouth that birds don't have so a bite is much like a death sentence. Just take it slowly when you introduce them to each other but the main thing is never leave the cat and bird alone when the bird is out.
  21. Sure you do, ok your secret is safe with me (wink, wink) {Feel-good-0002006E}
  22. Kiwi is handsome, a very nice looking grey, thanks for sharing a pic of him with us.
  23. It is best to vary the size and shape of perches to keep the feet and talons in good shape, if their feet stay on the same size perch all the time then they may stay that way permanently. They should have wood, rope and cement like perches and of course some do enjoy swings and those boing things.
  24. That is so good Davey and should brighten Caroline's day but I bet she has something stronger than wine if it were left to me to guess.
  25. Well hello to Cory, he is a fine looking grey.
