  1. Now that is really funny, that Ash is a smart aleck, would have loved to have been a fly on the wall when that was going on, thanks for sharing that with us.
  2. Congrats on your recent acquistion of a former breeding pair, can't wait to see some pictures of them.
  3. Oh I did Heather, I always enjoy your pics of AnnaBella, she is beautiful and you only enhance that beauty with your picture taking skills, thanks for sharing them with us.
  4. Jill said it right, if you can't pay for it now then save your money until you can. I question your sincerity about "needing" another grey from your two previous threads you posted here just recently, you certainly got started off on the wrong foot and unless you prove you are sincere you will be met with opposition from me and probably everyone else.
  5. Why is it so urgent that your bird speak fluently? Is it a matter of life and death? You make it sound like the world will end for you if your bird doesn't talk. I am assuming you have a grey and it doesn't talk yet, well I hate to disappoint you but not all greys will talk, most do but a few do not and you cannot make them talk, they do it of their own accord when they feel like it. I hate to say it but I will, if you got your bird only because of it's talking ability then you bought it for the wrong reason, there is so much more to a bird than speech, in fact the talking ability is just the icing on the cake. Why don't you really read what you just wrote and think about it for a few minutes and see how you come across to other bird lovers here on this forum for your statement offends me.
  6. I'm so glad to hear he did well at the vet appointment but poor thing is underweight but that will be rectified very soon with a plentiful diet which you are providing. Its a good thing you got him when you did or he would have slowly starved to death. I hope all his tests come back that he is healthy and disease free and maybe the next time he has to go see the vet he will be able to handle it without any sedative. I bet you are glad this is behind you now Pat. Thanks for letting us know.
  7. Well you know the saying, "monkey see, monkey do" just like a couple of kids wanting what the other one is having.
  8. Thanks Sarah for the update on Lenny, it usually doesn't take too long for the babies to settle into a new environment and I hope it continues to go well, we would love to see some more pictures of Lenny if you have some.
  9. They are some of the cutest pigs I have seen, what a bunch of adorable babies, thanks for sharing the pictures with us.
  10. Rant all you want Jill, we all have our problems and lord only knows who has it worse. I could do a little ranting of my own but I will spare you all that.
  11. You took the boy's ball:ohmy: but at least he found the goodies inside, that will keep him busy for a while, thanks for sharing that with us.
  12. Thats why we have two of them, my hubby has the older model and I have the newer of the two.
  13. We have considered a Subaru and some of those are nice. I have a Grand Cherokee limited, in my older age I like all the extras that I used to have to do without when the kids were still at home. I hate the Jeep Liberty, the ride is horrible and the ride in the grand is just fine plus I like the height better than in cars. We won't be getting one for a while, we are going to go on with what we have for now.
  14. Thats great that Sterling loves showers, wish Josey did, she tolerates them but thats it. I bet that is a sight to behold, that U2 going under the water stream to get himself thoroughly wet, you will have to get a video of it, of course without you or hubby naked in it:whistle: :pinch:
  15. I really don't like diesel, it burns dirty and the engine is louder than gas models but hubby wants to get something like a Ford Focus but I don't really want to go that small. I know it gets good gas mileage but I have a dirt road to navigate and during the winter when it snows you really need 4 wheel drive so thats why I really like my Jeep plus its bigger and has more room to haul stuff as we go to visit my son occasionally, its a 4 hour drive. I am lead footed sorry to say, I tend to get out on interstates and get down so to speak. I really don't like the CFLs either since they don't give off the light the incandescent bulbs do and that mercury is a problem too since you cannot dispose of it in the trash.
  16. Exactly and as I was brought up by parents who went thru the depression I learned a lot from them about reusing and making do with what you have. I combine trips to the grocery store and other places as much as I can since I live out in a rural area there are no close ones to go to, I go after I get off from work before I come home since I work in an area where some of them are. I have also replaced some lights with the CFLs as they burn out and I use some fans to keep from turning the A/C up and we will go back to using a wood stove this winter to cut down on fossil fuels. I still have my SUV which is not real good on gas mileage but until the economy gets better I won't trade it for a more efficient model.
  17. Josey says words and phrases in both mine and my hubby's voice and it is usually what we have said before and of course if it's my hubby's voice it is deeper sounding but she definitely laughs like me.
  18. Torrentialrains, why don't you introduce yourself in the welcome room and tell us some more about you and your baby grey.
  19. Oh I can't wait to see this fella with all his feathers, he is some kind of bird, thanks so much Sanggay for keeping us in pictures of Mocha.
  20. We have been having some hot days with high humidity which means you can go outside and stand still and sweat. While I was at work yesterday it rained cats and dogs for about a half an hour but when I went home we didn't have a drop so we dug potatoes for the next 3 hours. Today I am sore from all that bending over and picking up taters but they sure will taste good this winter, hurry up fall and get here.
  21. Allison it will take a few days for your baby grey to settle in and feel comfortable so give him plenty of time, he may be a little scared at first but just talk to him and offer him treats and it should go smoothly. Welcome to greyt ownership, you have embarked on a wonderful journey, enjoy.
  22. Hello Allison and welcome to our family, we are so glad you could finally join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Omar. I wouldn't worry too much about the flight home, if your breeder has shipped birds before they know all about it and I am sure Omar will arrive safe and sound. As you already know we do have loads of information in our many threads so keep reading thru them and ask questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. We do love pictures here so please do share some of Omar with us when you get the chance.
  23. I am so glad to hear your weekend went well Jen, it is good to get away from time to time, you appreciate what you have more when you have a chance to miss it.
  24. dirtybirdy wrote: You might be right but as long as he remains No 1 then its not as much of a problem but actually having two birds is better for when you are gone they are company for each other even though they are caged separately.
