You are a good man Dave to make those nest boxes for the birds and it helps to provide hours of entertainment watching them come and go, thanks for sharing them with us.
I had a nest of house wrens in one of my hanging baskets but they have all fledged and left the nest, hope they all made it, there was only 3 of them but I watched them from time to time, maybe they will return for a second batch.
I too am a faithful Blackberry user, in fact the Iphone won't work here for my daughter-in-law has one and every time she comes to visit her phone won't work, no coverage in my area.
We have hawks here in Virginia also, in fact my husband saw a red tailed hawk sitting on our fence that surrounds the garden area and he walked within 3 feet of it before it flew away. I have never taken Josey outside on a harness, only in a travel cage but I am with her every minute, those hawks are only doing what comes naturally.
I have heard nothing, he/she is still with me, I have tried to get him out of the cage but he won't step up for me but it may be better that way for if I could get him out I might not want him to leave, I don't want to get attached to something that belongs to someone else. He is doing fine, eating and calling for us if we leave the room.
Well I am disappointed that you clipped his wings for thats not the reason he took off, he was taken outside but maybe you will rethink it in the future but to know now that he was so close and you didn't find him, you are very lucky to have him back, glad to hear your hubby won't be taking him outside without being on a harness or in a cage.
Ahh the birdies are outside enjoying some fresh air and sunshine, looks like they enjoyed it all expect for Opey, darn flight suit, they are beautiful birds, thanks for sharing them with us.
Please do keep an eye on that bump but I hope it is nothing to worry about.
Bean is so adorable, I love toos but alas they are not for me but I think you have handled him the right way and hopefully he will never be the screamer but that may come with time, thanks for sharing some pics of Bean with us, such a sweet looking bird.
Oscar is absolutely adorable and growing up so fast, I loved that first video of the two of them making their baby noises, so sweet to hear and Oscar was lapping up the scratches, here just a little more, there thats better, he is one great looking grey and doing great at flying too, thanks for sharing them with us.
Thanks so much for the update on Aoodi as I have been worrying about him, poor little fella having to go thru two surgeries but I am so glad he is doing fine and will maybe be home soon, this has been an ordeal for you, him and all of us here for we care about each and every member and their greys, please continue to update us when you can.
Yes it is possible to have a happy grey with your kind of schedule for you have worked to make it happen and that makes the difference, you wanted Bear in your life and you did what you had to fullfil his needs and yours too, I commend you for keeping him and making him so happy and it has made him a well adjusted grey who is very social with people.
On getting him some company you were lucky that Bear and Bean clicked with each other for it could have easily went the other way but I couldn't be more happy for the three of you, you are proof that if you want something badly enough then you can make it work for you and I am so glad, you are truly blessed.
Now that you are here why don't you stick around and indulge us with some more stories of Bear and Bean and thanks for sharing the pictures, they were meant to be together.
I can imagine she was very hungry, I took in a cockatiel almost a week ago and when I caught it and put it in a cage it went straight for the food and ate and ate and ate, I thought it was never going to stop eating but it did slow down and Emma will too, you may never know what she encountered in those two days but it must not have been anything really scarey or she would show some effects from it, she had a little adventure on her own and the last I hope. She looks in fine shape just like you said.
Yoshi is such a good girl in the shower, wish mine would flap her wings and open her feathers but she won't, she looks really drenched, thanks for sharing those pics with us.
Yes I truly believe it helped her to survive and to go to help by being fully flighted and you may not have her back now if she had been clipped.
Exactly!
Haven't you figured it out yet that what is hers is hers and what is yours is hers too, if they see you eating something you had better share it or else, Josey and Sunny share in our meals but they do it from their own perch with bowl, no eating out of my plate, I bet that was hilarious to have seen and who knows maybe Chloe and the dog were in cahoots, "I'll grab the noodles and you can clean up the floor"
Thanks so much Lee, Jay, Maggie, Susan, Penny, Shelia, Janet and Bonnie for the well wishes, I just returned from having dinner out, lobster, shrimp and scallops, and am stuffed but happy, had a wonderful day.
Hello Cathy and welcome to our family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Hannah.
Well you came to the right place looking for advice about greys and we do have many members with greys of similar ages but most anyone here can relate to whatever you have to ask, we have been there and done that.
We have lots of useful information in our many threads and do ask those questions, any questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can.
Love the picture of Hannah in your avatar but if you have some more of her you would share with us we would love to see them.
