I know Adina is grieving right now for Emma means so much to her and to us here, I will continue to pray that she is found, thanks for keeping us informed.

Ah finally Murphy got his barbecue, you do have a lovely backyard, no wonder Murphy likes to be there, looks like a relaxing place to be on a warm summer day or evening, thanks for sharing the pictures with us.

He/she is doing just fine, is chirping a little louder but it is still rather quiet, its cage is not very big but it is all I have for now but it seems to be allright, eating and sitting on the perch, doesn't play much but then it is in a new environment, seems friendly enough but I don't fool with it for it belongs to someone and I must find that person, thanks for asking about the little bugger.

Dolly is a beautiful grey but the second picture of your other bird inside a mouth is gross, you should not allow your birds to get inside your mouth as we carry too many germs that they can't handle, it could make them very sick or even die, please don't do that anymore.

OMG, Emma is one of my favorite greys on this forum, I can't believe she is gone out the door, poor Adina must be beside herself with grief for she is the love of her life, I loved her videos she shared of Emma and Sachi, I know she is doing all she can to find her and I pray that she is found safe and sound, I will keep Emma and Adina in my thoughts and prayers, please find her.

I am angry too but more at myself because I didn't do anything to stop this madness and took it into my own hands and sent Fredgrey a pm warning him of his behavior and now I owe him an apology, thats what happens when you jump to conclusions so please accept my apologies for my inactions and now I am going to pm and email Fredgrey and tell him I was too hasty and to please forgive me and come back and be a part of our family.

Hello Christine and welcome to our family and we are so glad you could join us. Dolly sounds like she is quite a character and must be a great joy to you as she chats throughout the day. My grey Josey will only come to me but she will give my hubby kisses, she doesn't even bite me but she has never bitten anyone, of course no one gets close enough for her to bite for she usually puffs up when too close to her so they back off. Thats a two way sword about her calling your name like your Mum used to do but try to look at it positively, she must have liked the way she said it and thats why she repeats it, just think of it as a happy reminder for you will miss her terribly any ways. Now all we need is some pictures of Dolly and Willow if you would be so kind to share some with us.

I was out watering my hanging baskets yesterday evening and kept hearing a soft sound and when I looked in the direction of it I saw a cockatiel in my woodshed, I went over and it didn't fly away even though it can fly. I went into the house to get a towel to catch it with and it came part way to the house but it flew back into the shed, I threw the towel over it and put it into a cage. I put food in the bowl and it ate and ate and ate like it was starved. It is a beautiful bird and must be someone's pet, I am on the lookout for the owner for they must be beside themselves with grief. I tried to take a picture of it but I can't get a good shot so I found one online that looks just like it, I think it is the pearl cockatiel.

Hello Christopher and welcome to our family and congrats on adding a grey to your flock. I would tell you to just keep doing what you are doing now to gain Zoe's trust but realize that it will take a lot of time and much patience on your part for this bird has been passed around from owner to owner and it is going to be a while before he trusts again for in his mind your home is just the stopover on the way to yet another one. Some greys will just prefer one sex over another and that may be the case here or like you said he could have been abused by a man and now he associates all men with mistreatment. He may just like your wife more and that is not unusual either for a lot of them will prefer one person more than any one else. You will find lots of useful information in our many threads so do read thru them at your leisure and ask questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. We would love to see some pictures of Zoe if you have some you would share with us, we have an other birds room where you can put some of Casper if you like.

Harvey is strange, you wanted to hear it and there it is, plain and simple, a strange grey with a bizarre woman, go figure!

Don't feel so bad Jay, sometimes we have the answer staring us in the face and we don't recognize it for what it is but it is revealed now and Spock will be the picture of health soon and congrats on the weight gain, way to go Spock, you are on course.

I'm with dw310 on this one, a bird and especially a grey needs a wire cage that they can climb on and most cages have the bars going both horizontally and vertically so it excercises their feet, with a glass sided cage that is not possible, it may look nice but it is not practical for everyday bird use, thats my opinion.

I know that seeing Aoodi was the best thing for both of you and to see that he is progressing so well must give you some comfort but hopefully this will all be over soon and he will be back home with you and on the road to a full recovery, thanks for updating us and please do let us know if you have any further news as we do care, how sweet of him to give you a kiss.

I have a nest of house wrens in one of my hanging baskets in among the flowers, I noticed it when I went to water the plant and there were 3 little blue eggs, I carefully watered the plant taking care not to get the nest wet and hung it back where it was, a few days ago they hatched and I continue to water the plant but I enjoy watching the babies open their mouths for food, soon they will be on their own and gone, I usually have at least one nest in the many baskets I hang out in the spring.

Ok well being 19 years old explains a lot but you have come to the right place to learn how to get him out of his cage and enjoy some time just being a bird. He has not had the opportunity to be out so he could be flying so no wonder he flew into the walls, he needs more time to regain some of his flying skills and that will come with time. I would imagine he is cage bound now and feels safer inside for he doesn't know anything else. This is where Dave007 will be of great help to you, he has lots of experience being a breeder of greys and also has pet greys and has handled these kind of cases before. I do know that it will take a lot of time and much patience on your part to get him to where he will come out but it will be so worth it because no bird should be kept in a cage with no time out to enjoy just being themselves. Please take the time to read as many of the threads here that you can for you will find a wealth of information that will help you with him in all aspects of his life. Btw, what is his name?
