    Glue?

A quick question for anyone who makes their own toys...do any of you know a safe glue for use on parrot toys? Thanks!
  2. I adore cockatoos. They are so different to greys, who are awesome in all their own ways
  3. Im so lucky with my Too. She accepts any bird or animal with nothing but love. she was best friends with my first CAG from the start, sleeping on the same perch etc. She already adores the new baby and tries to groom him haha
  4. Some pics of my cockatoo playing today. I've taught her to 'get' things...so I throw something for her, as you would a dog, and she runs after it and shouts at it, throws it up in the air and generally just puts it in a lot of trouble haha. She is such a funny bird, such a personality. I love her to bits Most of the pics were blurry as she was running around and playing so fast, but I managed to get a few that aren't too bad. And I introduced her to my baby CAG today. she was so sweet with him and just tried to give him kisses like she does with us. He just tried to feed from her haha
  5. Bean, my Umbrella, is SO quiet. she has never screamed or shrieked. She chats with us and she talks, but no shouting at all. No one even knows we have birds when they visit. She doesnt make a sound in her bedroom. We don't have her caged, she shares her bedroom with our Grey. She loves to sleep in 'her' wardrobe n her blanket. They really are wonderful birds, so friendly with other people and animals. I really want a Moluccan Cockatoo next. They are very similar to U2's in terms of personality and care. I've found a couple of breeders but they are very expensive, so will wait a while.
  6. Good luck with your new baby! don't worry about him not talking..my birds are the same when a new person comes to our house, so Im sure him being in a new place will be the reason. Give him a few weeks and he will open up I'm sure!
  7. Hi and welcome!! I just got a new CAG 2 days ago, he is 6wks. You must be so excited to bring your new baby home!! Pics are a must of course!! Ah and 2 babies, even more exciting!! If you can, see if you can help with the hand feeding, it will help with your bond IMO. I've had raised all my birds and have never had a single behaviour problem with any of them, no bites, no screaming, no destruction...I think it really helps getting that early bond. so yes, as many visits as possible! Even if its just to kiss and cuddle.
  8. Thanks everyone Our garden has lots of trees inside and bordering it, so we don't get any breezes in there (a nightmare for mosquitos in that sense!) The trees are massive and very dense, plus we have a very high fence. Also we have 500 acres of land and there is nothing around us but fields for as far as the eye can see, and she can only fly a couple of metres even from a height, so we aren't worried. If a breeze could blow her more than 4 miles then there might be a danger, but considering we live in a valley and never get wind, again, terrible for mosquitos, I don't think it will happen
  9. Also as you can see, they don't get jealous of eachother
  10. Hi well if you look at my avatar you can see my CAG and U2 get on brilliantly! Best friends, sleep side by side. They aren't caged and have their own room, and they play together, eat together, groom eachother. They love eachother! I got my CAG first and the Too a few months later (the CAG we rescued and he was useless on his feet for a good while) But as long as you get a young Too and your bird is well socialised, I dont think you will have a problem. I just got another CAG 2 days ago and I know they will get on fine
  11. I think they are stunning...but I can't handle the noise! My CAG's and Cockatoo are so quiet!
  12. Hi She is clipped but she has been coming outside since she was very young. She loves it. She has never once even tried to fly away. There were two instances when we were having work done on our houses that she got outside...and she stood outside saying 'hello hello!' asking to come back in. She does think she is a dog though and comes to call. When I managed a game lodge her and my grey would come down to work with me and meet the guests etc, so they are very well socialised. Bean even chills with my dogs
  13. Some pics of Bean in the garden. She loves it
  14. Ah bless, don't worry, he will still learn to talk! Our CAG Bear was best friends with our U2 Bean....she is a very quiet cockatoo but still, they make certain noises when they chat. He had those down to a tee by 6months old, but he also spoke English too. And the car alarm, and the phone, and whistles and tunes haha. It's great that they are making friends We just got a new CAG baby and are looking forward to introducing him!
  15. This is me...in a rare pic without an animal
