Wow those are some great looking toys and Josey has one of them, the barrel of fun, too bad she doesn't much care for almonds, thanks for sharing those toys with us, great ideas.

I was hoping my order would come today but it hasn't but it will soon, I am real anxious to get this toy for Josey as I think she will enjoy it once she finds out it won't attack her. Gonna pick up more toys and stuff tomorrow when I go to the bird fair, thats always a gold mine for me.

It works now Bonnie and this is sad news but something has to be done about the "puppy mills" as no animal should have to endure the appalling conditions they are put under to make a buck, I say go after the people who run these mills and make them provide whats necessary to ensure a happier and healthier pet.

This situation gets worse by the minute as we realize just how much of that crude is spilling into the gulf and they talk about cleaning it up and getting it back to its former condition, I think that is an impossible dream right now, animals and the eco system is suffering and I think it will be a long, long time for it to ever return to its pristine condition, God help us all.

Hello Susi and welcome to our family, we are so glad you found us and we look forward to hearing more about you and your grey. She might have been a wild caught grey since she still does not want to have any contact with you since you have had her and you have had her now for 6 years, thats a long time to not be able to get her to step up for you, she should at least be tolerant of your being around her. I am afraid I am at a loss as to what to tell you to do, I have never been in your situation before and we may have to get some of the more knowledgeable members to give you some advice. You are doing what you should be doing to earn her trust but she may be happy just the way she is, some do not want any touching and she obviously doesn't so you may just have to accept her the way she is. You could try to get her another mate but she may not be so accepting of another one so hold off on that idea until you hear from some of the members here. When you deal with rescues you never know what you are going to have to deal with and they bring baggage with them that they never fully unload. You may find some helpful advice in our many threads so do read thru them and ask questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. We would love to see some pictures of this grey if you have some you would share with us, btw, what is her name?

Jackson is so adorable Tanya and you do have lots of toys for him to play with, I like the way you have some on the outside so they are not all inside taking up valuable space, looks good to me, you have done a wonderful job with him. Well it is a stupid law for one day nobody will be allowed to own any birds because if the people with existing licenses die off then no more can be issued, I guess that is what they want eventually for no one to own birds, how sad and unfortunate for young ones wanting birds in their life.

Congrats on getting your baby grey soon, what an exciting time waiting for it to come home to live with you and I like that name, no doubt in reference to the pirate movies with Captain Jack Sparrow and CJ for short. Thats too bad the wings are already clipped, why do breeders just assume you want them that way but they will grow out and then he can get in his flying time. You will find lots of ideas and suggestions for what to feed and offer your grey in the bird food room and also what you shouldn't offer, some foods are toxic to them. I would love to see some pictures of him if you have any, certainly by the time you bring him home.

What cute little birds, I think they are so neat looking, they never have a feather out of place and I bet they are little sweethearts too, thanks for sharing them with us, boy are they in for a treat when that new grey baby comes home.

Hello Eileen and welcome to our family, we are so glad to have you and excited about you becoming a first time grey owner. Do not be surprised if your new grey baby does not pay much attention to the lovebirds and whether they will get along is just something you will have to see, some greys will and some won't. Continue to learn as much as you can before bringing that new baby home, they are much different than the lovebirds but what an experience it will be, be sure to ask questions if you have any and we will help you in any way we can. Your baby is adorable but then I have never seen one that wasn't, thanks so much for including the pics in your intro post.

Who has to buy toys, certainly not Sanggay, Cocoa looks to be having the time of her life in it, thanks for sharing.

How sad for those owners who have to give up their beloved pets, I am so glad you declared Cocoa, she would never have the life you give her if you hadn't.

Don't panic over one chewed off feather, it looks like it may be dead anyways, there is no blood in the shaft, and she was just helping it along to shed it, keep an eye out for more but they are going to lose a few from time to time.

He is a beautiful bird and I guess you could say I am "fostering" a bird right now, I found a cockatiel that I took in but I have been unsuccessful in finding his owners so he/she may be staying with me, I wasn't looking for another bird but this one showed up and I wasn't about to let him/her become dinner for another animal. I would reluctantly give him up if the owners show up but it looks more and more like I need to find a proper cage for the one he is in now is small. Thanks for sharing the pics of Diego with us.
