  1. I know that all too well, my sun conure can be all sweetness and light but in a flash she can turn into a buzzsaw!
  2. I hate to admit, no no, I am Proud to admit it but I remember all of those things, wasn't life simpler and more enjoyable, gosh I miss those old days, thanks for allowing me to remember those moments.

    Need help

Hello Alain and let me get this straight, you have had this grey for 9 to 10 years and you have only let him out once, lets just say I am shocked to say the least, no wonder he couldn't fly well and kept hitting furniture, he was probably so shocked to be out he couldn't control himself. I must say you have your hands full for he is old enough to be set in his ways and won't easily calm down but you should not be afraid of being bitten as we all get bit from time to time and ours come out every day. I am not going to say much for I think Dave007 will have the best advice for you since you are dealing with a cage bound adult grey. I still cant believe you have had him this long and not out of the cage but once!
  4. Gosh how did I miss this thread Caroline, yes Tully does look a lot better than he did in January, I guess practive makes perfect and you certainly have the experience with 4 greys, thanks for sharing the pic with us.
  5. Jackson is a fine looking grey from those pictures Jay, Tanya is doing something right, he is so handsome and you can see the glow in Tanya's face, the woman is in love, thanks Jay for sharing the pics with us.
  6. Ah, what is Airbender, never heard of it? Must be a youth thing.
  7. Yeah I see feathers there besides just the downy ones, good job on getting him out into the sunshine, keep it up and see if there is 100% improvement and he becomes fully feathered again, thanks for sharing the pics with us.
  8. Ya gotta be sneaky with that camera Jill but you have managed to get a couple of good shots of the marvelous Harvey and his new boing, thanks for sharing them with us.
  9. I guess they have to continually find some new way to amuse themselves but that must have been so funny to watch but you are right about one thing, the pellets would go sour and spoil soon after becoming soaked, she must get great amusement from doing that, have you ever tried one of those water bottles?
  10. You might just have to do that but I have changed clothes with my sun conure sticking to my shirt, I will pull the shirt off with her still clinging to it and she will wait patiently until I put on the next one and then I lean over and she will climb back on, I have done this many times but not with Josey.
  11. Salsa is a chartreuse color that seems to almost glow it is so bright, she is beautiful and must be very playful too.
  12. They really are growing in leaps and bounds, you are doing such a good job and Jay has been such a help to you, Jackson must be getting close to fledging and will be taking flight soon, I know you will be excited about that Tanya.
  13. Jay you might have hit the nail on the head and that can be controlled by his diet if I am correct but it does make you feel better to at least have an idea of what is wrong with Spock, I guess the next step is a vet visit to confirm your suspicions.
  14. The grey lounge is the perfect spot for grey stories and I can hardly wait to hear some of these doozies you must have of Ozzie.
  15. Hello Ozziebird and welcome to our family, yes you have come to the right place and where have you been all this time! No worries as you are here now and you seem to have quite a character there in Ozzie, I loved the video you shared, thanks for indulging us right off the bat. We would love to hear some stories of Ozzie as I can imagine you have some, we never tire of hearing what each other's greys are up to or into.
  16. I know you will be missing him while he is at the vet's this week but he sounds like he is in good hands and I will keep him in my thoughts and prayers that he makes a full recovery and the surgery goes without a hitch, just know you are not alone and please do update us as often as you can for we care.
  17. So many birds going extinct it breaks my heart but this is a beautiful bird, I love that vivid red mask around the eyes and forehead, stunningly beautiful in my opinion, thanks so much Jay for taking the time to show us the many species of amazons, I look forward to seeing these every week.
  18. Biscotti is obsessed with the camera, he wants to play with that funny looking thing, he is a rascal moving around like he has ants in his pants but I loved it, he seems full of life and having a wonderful time, thanks for sharing it with us, you have a camera ham!
  19. Yes I believe they are having some success at capturing some of the spill but the damage has already been done and even if it were to be fully capped today there will still be birds and other animals harmed by what has already spilled into the gulf, this has far reaching damage that will be so for a long long time.
  20. You have to admire his honesty, that was so cute, thanks for sharing that with us.
  21. Happy Hatchday Argyle, you betcha mum will give you extra love and treats today and who's counting the years, certainly not me but you look so handsome there eating your pine nut, hope you have many many more to share with your flock, give him a pine nut for me will ya.
  22. Good job Laura, what a fantastic play stand you have made, I am so proud of you and its a hit with Noogie and Chiku, you are right yay for you.
  23. I love the adventures of Spock, going where no grey has gone before, he does such amazing feats, who else's grey would be pole dancing or rapelling down the curtains to entertain himself and the others around him, makes you wonder sometimes how he manages such devilish feats when he is not up to full health, boy you sure could have fooled me, I see Maggie saved the new phone just in time, oh btw Spock you missed a couple of spots on the counter!
  24. Lets give him the benefit of the doubt right now ok.
  25. Beth, just continue to do what you are doing, talking to him while he is in the cage, believe me he is listening but the trust you will just have to earn and you have to be patient for there is no timetable for when it will happen but consistency is key. As always Dave has given you some excellent advice.
