  1. I am not a believer in only getting a parrot who "picks you" . I don't believe they can possibly know right from the start if they like you or not. Us humans are much more complicated as we find, when we first meet another human, and think we like them, or are in love with them, only to find out as time goes on that it wasn't the best choice and we move onto other relationships. I think it is far more complicated when it comes to a parrot for many reasons, first off, we don't speak their language, that takes years of interactions with them and we never really do understand them completely nor do they understand us. We struggle with our interactions with each other and do the best we can on both sides. Yes, we love and adore them and I believe they Love and adore us as well over time. They WANT to Bond with us, want to be a flock member. I feel ANY parrot will do their very best to fit into our lives and bond with us as long as we show them the love, care and respect they so deserve. I say this because out of my 6 birds, we never went to see them and 'see' if they picked us, they aren't capable of that in my opinion in just a visit or two or three. I took my 6 no matter what, without ever seeing them first. They are all sweet, loving and has adjusted into us family as we have accepted them and done everything we can to make them understand they are loved, respected and cared for the best I can.
  2. Rikki my grey was almost 2 when I adopted her. She has adapted very well, but i was her 4th home so it took her almost as long to really settle in and realize this was her forever home. Please understand that you can not "mold" them , they have their own personalities, and not many greys like to cuddle, if they do, it is on their own terms regardless of what age you got them.
  3. Sounds like the same scam running around. I had 2 friends see the same add, both were scams.
  4. Love tht deep voices agin, "what are you doing?" I foret that not all birds talk like mine in girlie voices, so when I hear grey talk in a mans voice, it always suprises me!
  5. Happy Biethday Ray! May it be the best day ever!
  6. Also, beware, 'natural' is different than organic....some natural fragrances can be harmful .
  7. No no no! Yankee Candles are by no means safe for birds! I live about 2 miles from the flagship store, and about 3 miles from the manufacturing plant where the candles are made. The smell is very potent from the fragrance they are using that particular day, even tho they have an incredible system for filtering the smell, due to the carcinogens they emit. Some people in the area get headaches even...so NO they are not safe for birds.
  8. That's greyt! I was very young, but I do remember her and that song quite well! Thanks for getting it stuck in my head for the rest of the nite!
  9. Thank you'll so much, I have been trying to get a visual of that for so long here....thank you for finally helping me to understand the process. I haven't done a deep can on my cages for a long time as I can't get them out the doors, but i think now I will invest in a steamer to get them really clean.
  10. Could you put a towel across the bottom? Not sure I understand what happened....where he got caught.
  11. So no floor clean up after? Just cage stuff? And do you take all the toys and perches out or can you leave them?
  12. When youdo the cages, what does the walls and floor look like when you are done? Do you have a wet mess to clean up?
  13. Happy Birthday Marco! You are one lucky fellow! 2 years is a big deal and tell your parronts to get used to it...pretty soon, you will know it all once you turn three!
  14. I would go with the one time fee of purchase vs. a monthly fee...dont see the need to pay someone else .
  15. Yikes, I just saw the price......perhaps I will shop for a cheaper model...it's out of my price range!
  16. What a wonderful review, I have been the thinking of investing in a steam cleaner for a couple of years but wanted a good one. The only thing holding me back is idont understand what kind of a mess it makes. Also do you remove all the perches and toys? I have hard wood floors and am concerned about the cleanup mess.
  17. I have a few standing wireless web cam. D-Link, it cost me $99 at Best Buy over a year ago. It is very easy to set up, my birds ignore it now and the best part, it as a mobile app so I can watch them anytime I want. It only has one way sound, I didn't want 2 way because I didn't want them thinking I was how and not coming to see them, but you can get 2 way audio. My daughter also watches them on her phone as well.
  18. Happy Birthday Cricket, who's luckier, you or Your parronts?

  20. Considering it is all hand made with clay, i think it's very reasonable . That's a lot or work making individual pieces.
