bird says she is gonna go to bird of paradise store a long way away for us she says......I don't know what that means except she goes every year or so. She doesn't let us out of our cages for breakfast and she leaves and we don't see her until bedtime. But whatever she does and wherever she goes she comes home with bags and bags of new chew toys. She puts them all over the dining room table and scares the heck out of us with all this new scary stuff. This year I hope she gets GOOD things and not the scary stuff she usually comes back with. Of course Nilah is a nosey pain in the butt and has to stick her beak into everything and put her germs in all of it. :mad: Rikki and I are the smart ones...we know those bags of things are gonna eat us in our sleep.....:rolleyes:. I stole this from Birds computer...this is where she's going...do any of your bird friends know if we should be scared or not?????? It isn't fighting, it looks more like they are trying to establish the pecking order, who the dominant one is. There's always an order in a flock.

I think it is a great suggestion ...but I wouldn't want others taking someone's advice based on what just a member lists what they consider experience.....that could become a liability issue. We always state there are no vets here, so the advice given by any member is to be weeded through and the person seeking advice is solely responsible for deciding what they chose to believe, follow or dismiss....it's a case by case basis. The best thing is to read everything written and rifle through the information, and come to your own conclusions.

hey guys....love Febuary in our house! Rikki, Nilah and I have been around long enough to know what "birthdays " mean in our house........ WE HAVE 2 ....that's right 2 this month!!! Usually Bird puts us in our cages cause other people come over....so we miss out on the yummy stuff...but last night...Bird let us join in the birthday party....and we were so excited! Bird kept calling us vultures (whatever that is, guess it's good, cause she was laughing). We circled in around the table and marched on over to this: Nilah hates cold, so she refused to join in the ice cream cake.....told ya she was dumb!

I was making toast.....turned around to get the new jar of peanut butter.....and this is what I find....... Can't imagine who did it............could this be the culprit??????............

Celebrating my youngest sons Birthday today, he's 16...yesterday my next to youngest son turned 20.....where did the years go....

Good ideas. It has been such a long time, I wouldn't know we're to begin. She does slit of chewing on paper, cardboard and wood, as well as a lot of beak rubbing after eating.

I haven't taken her to the vet since I noticed it.

I have been trying to get some good pictures of this. Rikki has had redness, the pics look like it's swelling, but it's mostly wrinkled skin..( I assume from rubbing her beak) on the sides of her beak, it has been there for almost 2 years now. I have not taken her to the vet for this as this is the only thing I am curious about. The vet visits stress her out so badly, she get flushed, stressed, bloody tears,and I prefer not to put her thru a vet visit unless absolutely necessary. Her behavior and eating habits has never changed. Any thoughts on this? I have researched alot on the internet and cant find any other cag with this. Please excuse the peanut butter, it was breakfast time.

Sounds like blood tears. My cag gets them when she is stressed from the vet. They do stop on there own once we are home. If they don't contact your vet asap

Wonderful thread!! Nilah LOVES to be cuddled and loved. She sits on my shoulder and rubs her head back and forth against my cheek and coos...sometimes I rub her head back and forth with my cheek as we both coo together, other times I bury my lips into her feathers as she's rubbing her head as I kiss her non stop into her neck , lots of little kisses and kissing sounds. She loves it. Those happy moments are the best feeling ever!

Yup, we are looking at 3 feet....my generator wouldn't start, so its at the shop, hopefully going to get fixed and running by tonight.. We are all stocked up...the last time we got hit like this we had no power, no heat, no water, (well) for 6 days, 6 birds, 3 cats, 2 horses, 2 dogs and me & my 3 kids...if that wasn't a challenge....with no generator..so of course I had one installed after that nightmare! Very hard to keep my birds warm. we had layers of blankets over their cages and moved them all into my living room where we had a small fireplace we could use during the day. I am not looking forward to this storm....

I expected nothing less from you Ray. There is an amazon out there that needs you to show them that not all human beings are cruel. When that day comes into your life, I look forward to being here to follow that new chapter.

Update: I have notified the tech dept. They seem to have the same problem on their end as well. They are looking into this ongoing problem you seem to have , said thank you for the screen shots, but they are at a loss and told you to buy a new computer....or a new Playstand........?????
