1. Today when I was in the shower getting ready for work. Nilah was getting hers. She opens her wings and covers her face with them, but it doesn't keep her from getting wet. She LOVES her shower. We have such fun it's hard to shut the water off and stop! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: The bathroom was foggy we where in there so long, so some of the pics aren't very clear.... This is my very favorite!!
2. Rikki turned 4 years old today. She has been in a great mood all day! I didn't by her anything special, as she got lots and lots of toys last month at the Bird of Paradise Store! I did put a few new toys I was saving from there in her cage last night. B) Here is a picture I took of her this morning while I was getting ready for work. She LOVES to hang out in the bathroom and throw everything out of the drawers...:pinch:
3. Hmmmmm...........Let's see, Talon first: lampshades replaced 4 times, mini blinds replaced 3 times, remotes, papers, desk sets that holds papers, pens, pencils. Kids homework, 5 laptop keyboards, chargers, lots of earrings, all zippers, coats, hats, curtains, my blackberry, computer mouse, eyeliner pencils, the list goes on and on. Rikki......laptop chargers, keyboards, sweatshirts, zippers, remotes, glasses, dishes, any food box you touch, doorways, windowsills, chews holes in couches, pens, pencils, all papers, wallet, 3 blackberry cases, ziploc bags, prescription bottles, she loves to throw things on the floor and watch them break into hundreds of pieces.....:pinch: Nilah.....nothing yet, but she is only 7 months old.:side:
4. Karma for you Supernova for starting this very interesting and fun topic. :) Mine is easy, our first grey was my son's and he named her "Talon". 9was posting from my BB so, spelling things correctly can be difficult sometimes.

Post edited by: Talon, at: 2009/12/10 20:35
5. {Feel-good-0002006E} This is the funniest thread I have ever seen!! You guys are all NUTS!!! I think Dan and I should have an admin meeting and perhaps make a room for you guys, you know.....a place to hang out while the meds kick in.........or a place for all the nutty ones to gather..........
6. Hi Gizmo, It's great that you are willing to let Gizmo fly. One of my greys came to me with clipped wings and had the same trouble once her feathers grew out enough to start flying. It was trial and error for her for quite a while. I would say it was probably a couple of months before she was consistent with it. It was a full 6 months before she could maneuver and fly and land anywhere with ease. After the first few months, she would fly the same route and land on the same spots that she knew she could handle.
7. Jeez, you THINK you can reek havoc here, but Judy has hired me to keep watch over you...... big mistake......:woohoo: together, you and I could really have some fun.......
8. How beautiful! I love seeing the pictures. B)
9. Well,I just wanted to update you on Rikki's behavior. She finally seems to be settled in and adjusted to Nilah being here. She has stopped her disruptive behavior. She is no longer going after my doors, but I am leaving my pretty decor for a while more just to be sure. Rikki will perch on my shoulder when I am watching tv and cuddle with me as she used to while Nilah is getting her cuddles with my other hand. At night, I sit on the couch, with my laptop, or to watch tv all the while, a kitten snuggled up next to my feet, my dog laying next to me, Talon perched on my knee or laptop, Nilah on one arm and Rikki on the other. :pinch:
10. Yes, Judy.....Dan thinks he can ruin our fun with what HE thinks is the true story......but little does he know he's been kept in the dark and told only what ever info we have decided he needs to know to keep him from finding out the REAL history of how Greyforums came to be. B)
11. My Goodness! said the computer princess/ferrel child....my fingers will be so busy pushing the karma button tonight!
12. Awww.... Dave.........you PROMISED to never share my secret with anyone.........GREAT..............now EVERYONE here will know why my tempers flares on occasion and I howl.........
13. Welcome back! It's great to have you here. Too hard to catch up on facebook!!! B)
14. He is beautiful! I am so proud of you for rescuing him. His life is forever changed thanks to you. He is so lucky. You did a wonderful thing! Bless you!!
15. Hi Brittany, The tree stand was $300, plus I got a 30% discount on it. It is real kava wood. I have another tree stand in my kitchen, I paid MORE for it, and it is nowhere near as nice, although it is made out of real wood.
16. Talon

hmm

I agree with Dave. That cage is much too small for a grey! You will end up with a plucker if you confine him to such a small cage. Please read thru the many posts here regarding cages. You will see that bigger is always best! I have 6 cages in my house, and none of them are anywhere near that small. Even my parakeets have a bigger cage! B)
17. I Let all my birds on my shoulders most of the time, but only if they behave. I have for the last 4 years. But certainly I wouldn't allow it until they stepped up. If you don't assert your authority by first getting your bird to step up, she will feel superior to you by being on your shoulder only. I recently bought an amazon who didn't know how to step up, and I am just starting to allow her on my shoulder a few times as she is mastering step up. As for your wife's hair. Birds love to preen your hair! Take it as a complement!
18. Just for the record. I allow my birds a bite o two or three of ice cream. They take some sips of milk from my cereal, and have bites of cheese most days with me. They will have yogurt as well. Anything in moderation is okay, with the exceptions of the various foods that are without a doubt toxic to them. B)
19. Rikki & Talon LOVE being able to fly around as they please. They have a late afternoon/early evening session where they fly and chase each other all over the house, yelling as they go! It is a wonderful thing to watch!
20. I just bought a play top cage for my amazon from Avian Adventures. But my 2 greys each have a dome top cage. My amazon loves to play on top, but the others don't.
21. Well, my FAB decorator is none other than myself! But so far, as crazy as it looks, it is working!! :woohoo: :woohoo:
