  1. Mine growls, too whenever they're having fun attacking toys.
  2. The other consideration is that if they didn't get along, they'd be able to attack each other through the partition, possibly biting toes off, etc.
  3. I have this cage for one of my macaws. The downside is that the center 'slider' space is a collector for poo, shredded toys, etc. It's a very annoying cage to clean. I have a painted one, which my macaw has chipped away in places. I need to replace it due to the exposed areas of metal.
  4. Personally I'd have a different cage for the new baby. Just because they are young doesn't mean they will get along. with each other.
  5. Was this a one time occurrence, or is he still biting you? I'm thinking that when you stepped back he became startled and then took it out on your toes, etc.
  6. Do you give him any fresh fruit and veggies? Greys need a well balanced variety of both. They are prone to vitamin A deficiencies, so foods rich in A is a must. Sweet potatoes, for example, are loaded with vitamin A. Absolutely no avocados as it will cause liver failure and death. I'm actually not familiar with this particular brand of pellets.
  7. Tell us a little more about his diet. Is he only on pellets? If so, then that could be part of the problem. Has he been checked for mites?
  8. I, too, give both RPO and hemp seeds to my fids daily.
  9. If he's a baby, twitching and already plucking, then I believe he has something going on with him.
  10. We do the same and use low VOC paint. There's very little odor and the safest paint to use around small children, pets and, of course, us.
  11. Sorry, I don't have any recommendations to share with you as I'm not in support of breeding when there are so many homeless babies and adults out there. I would like to welcome you to Greyforums!
  12. They love tinkering with stuff and trying to undo things. And yes, that's a floofy molted feather. Get used to them, because you're about to be bombarded with a whole lot more!
  13. That makes me so sad to hear. Have they switched him over to a different antibiotic in case the current infectious organisms are resistant to it?
  14. Greys LOVE Alexa! So many funny stories out there of greys 'ordering' stuff through Alexa.
  15. This is so sad to hear. Grey Forum has lost some amazing people over the past few years. Keeping her family in my thoughts and prayers
  16. Just wanted to wish everyone a happy New Year filled with hope, promise, good health, dreams fulfilled and lasting happiness!
  17. Nicely done! She adapted to it quickly! Enjoy your day together. Happy New Year!
  18. Maggie, I can only remotely fathom what you and Jay are going through right now. He is truly blessed to have you by his side, and to have such wonderful caretakers tending to his needs. I pray for his comfort.
  19. 31%??? I didn't think you could have that low of O2 sat without experiencing a very serious outcome. It amazes me how resilient the human body truly is. I'm glad he's still here with you, Maggie. What a frightening experience that must have been for you.
  20. When I bought the avatar harness, it came with a CD, which was extremely helpful. Perhaps there's a youtube video explaining how to get your grey used to being touched. I know that the CD went through that process.
  21. It's possible that she could be egg bound. If you see a change in her behavior, then yes, a vet visit ASAP is warranted. Please don't wait, as once you notice a change in behavior, a vet visit should be scheduled immediately. Do increase her calcium intake while she's laying.
  22. If it occurred immediately after the biopsy, and is still happening, then yes, I'd reach back out to them. Wondering if he inadvertently snagged a vital sensory nerve at the time.
  23. Thank you, Jayd. Beautiful said; heartfully heard. Love to you.
  24. She will continue to bring smiles into your life for many years to come!
  25. I'd be concerned, too. Do you have air purifiers? That might help in the interim. Have you tried calling your avian vet's office to see what their spin is on this type of exposure?
