I wholeheartedly agree.

Could you take her to another vet for a second opinion? The fact that she's no better idicates that her previous treatment plan hasn't worked. Fungus is a bear to get rid of, so if she has a fungal infection, she'll need long term medication. She looks like she's feeling badly. My vote is for a second opinion. Do you have a board certified avian vet in your area? Please let us know how she does.

I struggle with this all the time. My kids will likely take a few, but they also will post on a few forums to see if they can find suitable homes for them. If not, then to the sanctuary they'll likely go.

Sounds like you're doing a great job with her. You can always test her out by switching back to 3 feedings per day. Or give her the 60 cc's in the morning and evening with a small comfort feeding mid day. Are you beginning to offer her some soft foods for her to pick at? I believe 8 weeks is around the time that she should be introduced to solids.

Baby greys at that age are clumsy at best, and feel safer lying down to sleep. You'll likely see that behavior switch over within the next 2-3 weeks. If she's eating great, gaining weight and otherwise acting fine, she should be good to go.

I love our Panama amazon! While I can't actually hold him unless he's flown himself into a jam (I'm not the chosen one), I do have a sweet relationship with him. We chat back and forth and I give him treats to coax him back into his cage at night. I can rub his head through the bars without getting nailed. He has an evil laugh, loves to 'roll his R's, sing along to music and terrorize our CAG, Maalik! Harley's very timid, but a true delight! Our home is a better place because of his presence in it.

That's fantastic news! It looks like he's been leaving his feathers alone, too!

So thrilled to see you back and posting again! We missed you!

We have coyote woes here, too. All their natural habitat has been over-developed, so now they're scouring the neighborhoods, hoping to find a sustainable food source. It very sad, actually.

Haven't seen either him or his wife here for awhile. Am concerned.

Anyone else collect their parrot's molted feathers, but didn't know what to do with them? I have an answer for you: create a feather bouquet! Mind you, these are not my greys' feathers, but you can definitely do it with theirs.

OMG! Poor chickens. You have quite the farm thing going on. There's nothing like freshly laid eggs!

He's very handsome, feet and all! Love his messy beak, too! How many chickens, etc do you have grazing outside?

Yeah, Sydney's feathers were a dull lifeless mess when we rescued him. Probably hadn't felt water on his feathers for at least 8 years, if not longer. The first thing we did besides feed him a good meal was to completely mist him down. I think I missed what's up with Huey's feet. Does he pick at them?
-
Thank you! Sydney has come a long way since we rescued him. Just look at this 'before' picture taken immediately after we rescued him. Was all skin and bones.

Sydney? He's doing really well! The only issue that I'm having is whenever I enter the room or interact with him, he immediately turns into a little horn dog, snorting and everything. But he's happy and has really come out of his shell.

Here are a few recent pics of Flynn. He flies around the aviary as if he owns the world! Very confident grey, and quite similar to Maalik in personality. Not sure if he's from the same parents as Maalik, but it's very possible.
-
Does he do anything else, such as lower his wings or make regurg motions?

No varnish is safe for parrots. You can always vet wrap the area upon which your parrot will be standing.

We're just glad that everything's good within your world! Glad you're back! 🙂

Fynn is having lots of fun as are we! My daughter had him out this afternoon and he kept flying into my office to see what I was up to. I'd return him to my daughter, but in a flash he was right back for another little visit! He's a fantastic little eater. Today he had broccoli, carrots, yams, English peas, baby chard greens, sugar snap peas, corn, a sprinkling of raw hemp seeds and ancient grains, microgreens, my home made birdie bread, banana, grape, and blueberries. He tried everything and ate most of his lunch. Little crop has a nice bulge to it, too! Elvenking is right. His innocence pulls you in deeply. Wish he could stay that way. Haha! Well, we'll savor every single precious little baby moment while it lasts. I've ordered an avatar harness for him. Going to see if we can acclimate him to wearing it so that he could take walks with us. Our other birds were too old when we'd introduced it to them. It was a definite no go.
