  1. What a great revisit to some timeless holiday classics! My folks adored Bing Crosby holiday hits as well.
  2. One male and one female grey isn't really a good mix in the same cage as they become mature, if you know what I mean. As the others have said, there's no guarantee that they'll get along as they mature. It's always a crap shoot to see which birds cohabitate well together and which ones want to tear each other apart. Greys can become bossy birds, too. When my house ran out of real estate with 13 cages scattered throughout the house, I decided to invest in some extra large double stack cages. Got mine from A&E. They don't really need the height of the cage as much as the width. This is the one I purchased and I absolutely love them! https://www.birdcagesnow.com/products/a-e-cage-co-40x30-classico-double-stack-bird-cage They're nice and roomy! This cage will be a perfect fit where your Tali's cage is right now. I have 3 of them now.
  3. I know. I'm concerned, too. Since Thanksgiving she'd drop in a day here or there, but as of late she hasn't been online at all.
  4. There's no easy answer to your question. It depends upon the bird's personality, for one. It's truly a crap shoot. I have 13 flighted fids, and 8 must be taken out as solos. I have a group of 3 same size birds that can come out together, and 2 duskie conures that can be out playing together. Part of my situation is that I don't want to take any chances with testing them out together. There could be other groupings that would work, but I'd rather rotate them. For me it's less stressful not having to continuously supervise their interactions.
  5. I wish you luck! Haha!😉
  6. Oh yes! They absolutely love being just out of reach! There are times when I have to get the ladder to reach Maalik. His cage is something like 6 feet tall. Then, once I'm standing on the ladder, he retreats even further back, again remaining just out of reach. Such smartie pants these guys are!
  7. How on earth did that pop chip sales spammer sneak on through? Don't these people have a life??
  8. Oh my gosh, that look! 'Get this contraption off me NOW!'
  9. Happy hatch day, Corky!
  10. And thank you for the holiday interface! It's fun!
  11. Not sure. I'd think that fresh fruits and veggies would cause that over seeds if anything.
  12. It might likely be the diet adjustments. How are his poops today?
  13. Hi jjaura! Is today the first you've noticed the liquidy-bubbly droppings? If so, then see how things look tomorrow. Birds with infections can have bubbly poop, so if it continues, you might want to take in a stool sample for a gram stain. Did you change anything in his diet by any chance?
  14. Sweet Ollie. He's such a handsome dude that no wonder he doesn't want to wear such an ugly cone of shame.
  15. Smart little cookie! Absolutely introduce her to lots of things! Our Fynn is 6 months old and he's been introduced to a ton of stuff. The only thing so far that he's afraid of is me, believe it or not. He's fine with everyone else, except for me. But we're working on it. He adores the other young peeps in the household, so he gets tons of loving.
  16. This is an amazing story. Would like to know more about all the steps you had to take in order to bring Sukei home.
  17. Oh no, poor sweet thing. I just want to go over there and cuddle the heck out of him. Hope he heals quickly and that he's back to being his old self very soon.
  18. I agree. 2-3 years of age is a bratty age. Hang in there. He will become better with age! Regurgitation is a sign of affection, too.
  19. Hello Taha, It's likely due in part to your increasing time away from him. They are very much into routine, and it sounds like your routine with him has understandably changed. I'm not an expert in biting, other than that I try to avoid doing anything that could elicit a bite. If my birds do bite me, I yelp, give them the stink eye, and say 'no biting'. I then put them on a perch and ignore them for a bit. Is he bonding more to someone else in your household now that you aren't around as much? Also, how old is he now? Could he be going through a hormonal stage?
  20. Only 2 of my 13 parrots don't have leg bands. And none of them mess with them. I like the idea of having a phone number placed on their bands. Got an estimate a while back, but it was way too expensive to cover all my fids.
