  1. LOL I'm so used to seeing Timber do his bat bird imitation that is didn't faze me Pretty baby!
  2. How excited you must be! I am considering retirement in May. If I do, I may be Amazon shopping myself! My grey is so needy that I hesitate though. For now I will live vicariously through you
  3. Pretty birds! I'm glad you were able to find your info and get logged in. I'm sure you have some interesting stories and experiences to share!
  4. Nice pics Grumpy For the most part, my cats and my TAG seem to studiously ignore each other. They get curious about food and toys (like "what have you got there"). That goes both ways. If a cat is eating Timber wants to see what he has and and it goes both ways. Same with toys. No aggression to date, thank God!
  5. Hello and welcome to you and your flock Looking forward to the pics. When you get a chance, I'm curious about history. I mean, did you get all of your birds as babies, are they rescues or rehomes, that kind of thing.
  6. I keep mine clean and add the anti-bacterial/fungicide stuff every time I fill it. As to the odd behavior, who knows! It doesn't sound like fear since Bingo was eating and navigating in the cage. Maybe he just didn't want you leaving for work?
  7. Hooray! Nice to know someone actually wins I enter every month as well. Maybe my turn is coming!
  8. Haaa, I haven't done the contact call, but I did "click" at a coworker!
  9. Aerial, if your cat is an outside cat who has developed predatory instincts, I would hesitate to allow interaction too. My cats are totally housecats, having never been outside (except with me carrying them). With animals, just like people, temperament will affect interaction.
  10. I would say that Timber dominates the relationship with my cats (four of them) as well. They are extremely curious, but so is he. I have noticed that if he walks toward them or fluffs up, they just leave the room. He seems to desire a closer relationship than they do, truthfully. I know he sees them as "flock." If one of them is distressed, he starts that shrill alert. If one of them is locked out on a screened-in porch or in a closet (happens sometimes) he does the same. He hears them meowing before we do.
  11. I don't think you will regret it. Love mine!
  12. I have experience or knowledge of this so have nothing to contribute, but know that my thoughts and prayers are with you!
  13. Hello and welcome to you and Bingo Sounds like you are off to a great start and the beginning of a beautiful relationship. Looking forward to pics when you have a chance.
  14. What a pretty girl! Good luck and God bless
  15. Great update! I'm so pleased to hear everything is going so well. If someone had told me how attached I would be to Timber I would not have believed them. I have had "pets" all of my life and they have always been special to me. The bond between Timber and I is just different, in a class of its own.
  16. Neat video! Your cat looks similar to one of mine. A Maine Coon I presume?
  17. When you get home from work, the first thing you do is not say "hello, how was your day? to the hubby. The first thing you do is tell your bird how much you missed him and check the papers under the grate for poop presence, consistency, and form. The second thing you do is ask hubby how the bird ate today.
  18. Thanks for the update! Timber's favorite things are cardboard and paper, like a brown paper grocery sack, phone book, or roll of adding machine tape. You've probably tried those though. Much like my kids, he's rather play with the box than the toy inside!
  19. Timber isn't a big fan of sunflower seeds either. All a matter of taste I guess! He's with Marco on the cheese though... that is always the "lure of choice" when I really need him to do something.
