  1. LOL I kind of looked at it as she is a baby, and babies make messes. She does better than my 4 year old. LOL thank guys.
  2. so cute, some body needs a napkin. LOL
  3. P.S. sorry for the poor quality of the pics, my son broke my camera, so the only thing I have right now is my cell and pictures on it inside isn't very good.
  4. that is good news, thanks for keeping up posted. He looks so sweet.
  5. I think it takes a special kind of person to be a bird lover, because they aren't like any other pet. Special diets, and skills. To take on a handicap bird, takes a very special person. I don't think many of us could do it. Myself included. My hats off to you cupid!
  6. thanks Dave , I knew you would have the answer
  7. That was so cute, thank you for sharing. So peaceful.
  8. that is a good question. I wouldn't think it would hurt, but I would wait on someone else with the answer. Val ate a cricket, and that didn't bother her, I am sure they get all kinds of bugs and things in the wild.
  9. Thank you Barbara. I was really concerned when I got her, because I am a macaw person. I wanted a grey for all my adult life, because they are so smart. Maybe even for the wrong reason, but I can't tell you how I have grown to love her. I am so excited to see her every morning, and can't wait to hear her chatting up a storm. My little boy is a little slow with his speech, and other learning problems. Not Autism, but he is border lined. I have noticed that he is learning more, when I work with the birds than he is our one on one time. So I feel as if I have my own little classroom at times.
  10. I agree with everyone else on this matter. I have to say I love the pics, you and your pets are very beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing.
  11. thought I would just share a few of her show off pics. I love the peanut butter face. http://www.greyforums.net/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=20674
  12. I have two of these, hanging from the ceiling, with a rope perch between them and made a swing. The birdies love it.
  13. that is just great. I am glad you made the right decision, and know for sure that you did.
  14. That is so sad, always makes me wonder what happened.
  15. Judy, this kind of reminded me of my belated Rocco. Made me remember his first Christmas. I had made a ham instead of turkey, and my boyfriend at the time, decided to put leftovers in the oven for later that evening. We went and showered watched tv, and decided we would make a ham sandwich for a late night snack. I saw the oven door, barely cracked open, as you would to let it cool faster. I pulled out the pan to find it empty. There was juice dripping all over the floor, I knew then that Rocco, had helped himself to his own Christmas dinner. Pretty funny now. Was upset at him and the boyfriend for a while, cause nothing is better than a ham sandwich.
  16. The following was found posted very low on a refrigerator door. Dear Dogs and Cats: . The dishes with the paw prints are yours and contain your food. The other dishes are mine and contain my food. Placing a paw print in the middle of my plate and food does not stake a claim for it becoming your food and dish, nor do I find that aesthetically pleasing in the slightest. The stairway was not designed by NASCAR and is not a racetrack. Racing me to the bottom is not the object. Tripping me doesn't help because I fall faster than you can run. . I cannot buy anything bigger than a king sized bed. I am very sorry about this. Do not think I will continue sleeping on the couch to ensure your comfort, however.. Dogs and cats can actually curl up in a ball when they sleep. It is not necessary to sleep perpendicular to each other, stretched out to the fullest extent possible. I also know that sticking tails straight out and having tongues hanging out on the other end to maximize space is nothing but sarcasm. . For the last time, there is no secret exit from the bathroom! If, by some miracle, I beat you there and manage to get the door shut,it is not necessary to claw, whine, meow, try to turn the knob or get your paw under the edge in an attempt to open the door.I must exit through the same door I entered. Also, I have been using the bathroom for years - - - - canine/feline attendance is not required. . The proper order for kissing is: Kiss me first, then go smell the other dog or cat's butt. I cannot stress this enough. . Finally, in fairness, dear pets, I have posted the following message on the front door: TO ALL NON-PET OWNERS WHO VISIT AND LIKE TO COMPLAIN ABOUT OUR PETS: (1) They live here.... You don't. . (2) If you don't want their hair on your clothes, stay off the furniture..That's why they call it 'fur'-niture. . (3) I like my pets a lot better than I like most people. . (4) To you, they are animals. To me, they are adopted sons/daughters who are short, hairy, walk on all fours and don't speak clearly. Remember, dogs and cats are better than kids because they: (1) eat less, (2) don't ask for money all the time, (3) are easier to train, (4) normally come when called, (5) never ask to drive the car, (6) don't smoke or drink, (7) don't want to wear your clothes, (8) don't have to buy the latest fashions, (9) don't need a gazillion dollars for college and (10) if they get pregnant, you can sell their childr
  17. I haven't posted in a while, so here is an update. Val is the sweetest little thing ever. She whistles to me every morning once I am in her sight. I whistle back and tell her god morning. She blows me kisses all day long. When it comes to eating, she will wolf her pellets and seeds, but her veggies well, she won't touch them. She is now in the living room, and not in the bird room. Her home is right beside the couch so I am always cleaning off the arm of the couch, but thats ok. I often sit on the couch beside her to watch tv while I eat. I can have a plate full of veggies, and she will come to the side of the cage and beg for a bite. If she is out, she will find her way to the middle of my plate and help herself. So I have to pretend to eat her food, and just share with her so she will get her veggies. She loves to fly around the house, then cries for me to come get her. She also has a very powerful little beak, she don't mind using it when we get close to her cage if she isn't ready to go in. She is also trying to say a few words. I hear her mumble I love you and step up very often. She hasn't thrown it out there just yet, but I am sure its on its way. When my son gets near her cage she will scream as if someone is killing her until he backs up. He wants to pet her so bad, but she is having no part of that. I am so glad she stayed close to home when she took her adventure, I didn't want to miss another minute of her and the joy she has brought to this home. We love her very much.
  18. You have a beautiful family.
  19. I hadn't checked in for a day or two, and was really hoping to find good news. I know you are frantic, but don't give up.
  20. You guys are really making me want a zon. DYH at that. I have enough birdies, but don't be surprised if I end up with one, in the future.
  21. I just loved it. Thank you for sharing it. My Val would have flew off in a panic, I can't wait until she gets over that.
  22. I had my cats first, then I got the Macaws. My cats were afraid of the birds because they were so loud. I use to have smaller birds, and then got cats, no they were not de-clawed, but they grew up with the birds and never bothered them. Yet while the birds were loose in the house I kept an eye on the cats at all time just to be safe.
  23. Well, that is good news, and very hopeful. I hold my breath every time I see an update. I want you to find him so bad. Good luck, and sending prayers your way for you and your feathered friend.
  24. I have often thought of making it a priority to teach my feathered flyers their address. My first and last name as well. Specially after Val had her night out. I don't feel that you need to leave us. I also feel you will find murphy. I keep hoping for good news, and I am sure you will one day. Stay strong and positive.
  25. I am glad to hear all went well. Congrats on the move. I hope you like it there and will be happy. I miss having hardwood floors, and hearing my birdie patty run across. I am like Marcus, and the claw. I will check and see if mine would like that as well. The macs, will tear up a shrimp in no time flat.
