  1. Marcus, you make a good point. I use to feed the macaws their breakfast every morning at 8 am, right before I got Austin up for his pre school. Now that school is out the Macs, will set off a maddening alarm to let me know that their breakfast hasn't arrived by 8:30. No such thing as sleeping in. They will scream until I get their breakfast. Sometimes I put a couple of nuts in their dish, to hush them up until I get it ready. Then by all their fuss they have woken Austin then he is saying breakfast, breakfast..... So I can forget about going back to bed.

  5. those are so cute, what a wonderful present to be left with. It is sad how you got them, but you will always have a part of your grandma
  6. You think your Grey is the best.
  7. Wish I could have a complete house full of Grey's
  8. unique little critters of God
  9. Relax for a minute while they nap.
  10. Oh my goodness, my grey is wrapping me around her little talon
  11. Kind of funny how they own us
  12. That is totally up to you. If your house is quite for 10 hrs and no light is coming in then he probably don't need to. When any of my birds give me a hard time going to the cage for bed time, I just get a treat and put it in the food bowl. They can't wait to see what I put in there and I just close the door after them.
  13. Don't bad mouth our greys, that will start a war.
  14. Shoot them unless I know them. what would you do if, your partner called you by your best friends name in bed??
  15. great reminder marcus, I recently threw all mine out and bought all glass. I bake all winter long and decorate cakes, and I know I used mine last year and the year before that. I am so lucky that I didn't hurt my babies. Some people don't realize that making sheets have the same stuff as pots and pans.
  16. zoom, I see your point of the story, but I would never cook with my babies loose in the house. Specially if they can fly. I would be so scared of one landing on a hot stove or a boiling pot. A frozen birdie, gosh that poor thing. Paul, keep a positive out look, I sure wish you the best with finding your baby. I think I could spend a lot of time watching that persons garden. He probably looks at that as all you can eat buffet. My neighbor has a garden, and everytime I take Prince out, he has to explore the garden, and I got high hopes when I read that story. You have an army rooting and pulling for you. Sending you good mojo here.
  17. Is he getting enough sleep during the night? There has been a couple of times that I was up late and making a lot of noise, with my little boy sick. I know Val didn't get her 10 hours of sleep and she screamed at me all day. I couldn't get near her. Maybe the routine of sleep has changed. Maybe he is just jealous of the wife LOl. I hope things get better.
  18. Any more sightings? You haven't updated in a while, and I am worried about the poor little thing out there all alone. I really hope you reunite very soon. Good Luck Paul.
  19. Happy hatch day indeed. agree a great picture
  20. What can you do? Depends on how hard, and where I was bitten. Usually just say no and go to another room to do the ouchy dance. What would you do if you were in a very important meeting at work that means your job, of 6 figures a year, you get a text saying your kids are killing me, and I am walking out of your house right now they can kill each other for all I care. There is no one else available to go watch your kids that are all under the age of 8.
  21. I just had to laugh at the second video. That was so cute. The first one was so sweet makes me want to just give him kisses all over. Thanks for sharing. I can't wait until Val starts talking.
  22. very nice indeed. We look forward to your stories and pictures for years to come. Happy anniversary!
  23. Not sure this will help, but with my Ruby, he use to be bad to nip without warning. I would tell him no with a strong tone, and give him a dirty look with eye contact, for just a second. Any longer they think that you are being aggressive. You don't have to put them in a cage, but I usually let them know they have to have a time out. I then started giving an extra treat once in the cage or stand without bites. I haven't been bitten in a long time now, unless we were playing with the stuff animal, and fingers got in the way. I am sure someone else will step in.
  24. Yes, plucking the feathers will hurt. Its like pulling your hair out. I would prefer to cut the nail a little short and get the blood, and then immediately stop the bleeding. If you are unsure please take it to a vet to be done. Every bird is different, but will probably pout with you for a while, and possible to have to regain the trust.
  25. Oh, I can't wait to watch this capture. The thing that comes to mind. You have a new baby, and all day long your saying momma, mom, mmmm, Dad comes home, and says hows daddy's baby. What does the child say first? da da.. SO heart crushing. Sounds like your Marcus is a hand full, and very smart. When he call Ross, I think I would correct him with daddy or even confuse him with Mommy. LOL
