There is a world of difference in showering a Grey compared to an amazon, UNBELIEVABLE

I have 3 greys and only 1 is a snuggler but you can snuggler her all day everyday if you want, I also have a half moon conure that will snuggle. I can give scritches to my other two greys most of the time but not for very long just make them quick and to the point...LOL

You know I had Gabby my first bird for now 17 years and NEVER experienced any of the fun and joy of owning a Grey until I just recently got Sadie . Gabby was 100 percent, no make that 1000 percent Tom's bird (Hubby) she never knew I even existed. I fed her and cleaned her cage for years she would have NOTHING WHAT SO EVER to do with me never spoke looked or like I said even knew I existed. I decided I wanted a Grey so bought Kenya my TAG from a breeder in Ca. and soon after happen across Sadie. Kenya is my sweet baby TAG that I really don't know that well yet and Sadie my sweet rescue that loves me and wants me to spend every minute with her. I am in bird heaven! If I did have a "but " it would be that I would have tried harder to try and get Gabby to acknowledge me too 17 years earlier.

Did you know? I thought this could be a fun, and simple game. All you have to do is post things you want people to know; it can be random facts, folklore, gossip, or whatever. As always keep it fun, and family friendly. I will start it off… Did you know… Upon the launching of a newly completed ship, a bottle of champagne is usually smashed over the bow to christen it. The origins of this are a little unclear and can vary slightly from culture to culture, but for the most part it is believed that blood or wine, depending on the particular culture, was originally used as a sacrifice to the gods of the sea to allow for a smooth passage.

Hi everyone, I hate to sound so stupid but in this case I am, as some of you know or remember Sadie is my recent rescue and as I was cleaning out cages this morning I found an egg. Is there anything I need to do? Will there be more ? Should I give her some extra calcium. It is Sunday or I would call the vet. what happens next should I check on something to make sure everything is the way it should be? I just feel slightly worried as you can tell. If there is anything I need to know please contact me. Thank you, Karen

My Sadie, that by the way , I love so very dearly even though we have only been together for such a short time. LOVES,LOVES ,LOVES,to cuddle and as doing so makes this cooing sound almost like the sound of a dove. Do you think this might be a mating or hormonal sound? I know not to encourage them when thy are being hormonal towards you. Thanks, Karen

I am surprised the vet wants you to put the antibiotics in the water, I am not a vet but it would seem to me dosing the baby with a syringe would be much better (sorry none of my business) As far as getting your Grey to eat fresh fruit and veg. it will take time and then some more time , you will have to just keep offering it every day, there is birdie bread you could make and hide the veggies in that. Also pellets should be added to his/her diet as well I use Harrison's but there are other types that are good too. Best of luck!!

I tell my greys when I'm going to work. I work on-call so I work all different hours and days but I tell them every morning or what ever time I go that I'm going to work and they all say, bye bye, see you later, ask if they are going to go and I tell them no, so they tell the dogs they have to stay home too. They are all yelling "See ya later" as I go out the door and you couldn't convince me they don't know what's going on. Give it a try.

My yellow nape is actually a very fun bird she sings 3 different songs, we hang out together all day she is a loud mouth but she is a zon. I love to feed her there is nothing she won't eat but I do have to watch her weight. She is so comical and says things right on cue. I just love her, we are clicker training now and she knows several tricks. She also has figured out how to be a con artist as well and can sweet talk me out of one of her treats that are SUPPOSE to only be for training. I'm glad you gave Cricket a chance.

Wow, Bless your heart that has to be hard to deal with , the first thing is to understand why the behavior is happening and then you can figure out how to work with Romo. Start paying attention to what is going on in the environment right before the behavior happens look for clues that can help you try and understand what it is that sets him off. Maybe he is jealous or trying to protect someone, perhaps you.
