  5. They are likeable little birds with big personalities, congratulations on the newbies.
  6. He did a nice job I hope you find it a good home rather than destroying it. You might contact any Bird Sanctuaries or wildlife rehab groups in your area.
  7. Sounds right my dinner is always for sharing.
  8. Definitely go for the low or no VOC paints, just painted our front hallway or entryway it is two stories high and a challenge. The paint we used had no VOC's and had no discernible smell. Very happy with the results and the birds had no ill effects -they were not in the area we painted but the house has an open floor plan. Monitored birds closely and was ready to move them if any distress was shown.
  9. I was a groomer for many years also brought our kids to work with me as well.

    Hahns Macaw

They had plucked for years prior to their arrival feather follicles no longer produce. They are however quite happy the way they are busy and aggressive taking joy in their battles with cage cleaning attempts. Yes she looks a bit like Bert from Sesame street will try to get a better pic next weekend.

I think it may have more to do with handling technique, pair bonding, hormonal behavior and how they trained their original families. Clever, beautiful, destructive and fascinating little jewels. One of them also says "Good morning pretty bird, Good morning pretty blah!" very funny little bird. Two of them are pretty plucked one has a unibrow and looks a bit like a Klingon the other two are in perfect feather but still very aggressive and cage protective. http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/aa264/Firefly_mom/MEMO0009.jpg

They are co9ol little Mac's but the ones we have at the Sanctuary are possessed by attack attitude. Hard to clean their cages andd feed them with out loosing some DNA. One of them actually says "crusher destroyer" not kidding.
  13. All is good, love those homecomings and what fun when they play musical perches!
  14. Always fun to watch a youngster develop personality.
  15. LOL can identify with that we have some cats as well and one loves to sleep on the cage tops, we had to put a blanket up there so he won't suddenly become a Manx sleeping on Umbie Too's cage.
  16. How sweet they know how to grab our heart! He does know you always come back for him, maybe he meant going bye bye in the car?
  17. Hormonal behavior, daylight length is pushing them into nest building, know of several Mac's getting all hormonal right now.
  18. PVC piping to cover the legs! At our house it was the molding and door frames be fore I got smart.
  19. Happy to see you again Dave, we missed you.
  20. One of Greys was part of a road side Zoo before she came to us and does a pop top can opening, Sparrow, Jay and Cardinal calls.
  21. No wonder we find some people boring...After watching and listening to our flocks it can leave you wondering about our education system. Brilliant birds with great people can be amazing.
  22. They are safety testing it for her.
