We need both excellent mods and terrific members to make this blog "Greyt" having one with out the other is a Fail blog. We must also thank our Grey companions and other Fids for giving us so much to work with, stories, crisis and just plain learning experiences I think they make us better humans.

the standard for de -oiling birds is to wash with a drop or two of Dawn detergent then rinse well. It does sound like he needs a Veterinarian to care for him as some ingredients other than oil are in the hair concoction and he sounds like he is in some distress. Your bird may be a bit toxic-please get him to the Vet they can clean him safely as well if he is strong enough for such treatment.

Speaking of large cages, we recently bought a huge corner cage Macaw sized. Offered it to the big Too first but after trying most of the flock in there Pookie, CAG girl claimed it as hers, does not like leaving it afraid some one else might take over. For some reason Fred Fred the E2 is allowed in to visit for a while before she chases him out.

We may need to create a naked bird page, one just for pluckers & mutilators. I have one feather shredder U2 only when he feels ignored and one mutilator E2 who has to wear a jacket and neck bubble most of the time the final bird is a CAG who is a nervous neck plucker. Our own little nudist colony is growing on here. +

I can visualize that scene, yes there are some Great breeders out there who some times get painted with the bad person brush quite unjustly. Umbie Too's can be such clowns I will be waiting to hear how the meet up goes! I can also identify with the birdy bread routine as I spend all Friday afternoon chopping and cooking for over 200 hundred birds at the Sanctuary (my birds get some too).
