  1. I'm glad he's going to the vet, i agree with the shower!
  2. Ok, I get ya! I didn't get a good look at him, so I thought I'd ask (I went through some other videos)
  3. sorry you didn't get that grey! But stay and we'll all be excited for you the day you get to bring one of them home!
  4. a little argument with himself - love it!
  5. ick! We did 11 days with no power during a huge ice storm... i swear, we were the last street to be turned on... and when they did turn us on, we had only part power for 2 days. So, I hear ya! Thankfully, we didn't have the bird at the time and we only had the 2 dogs/cat... of course, i'm late on this and am hoping your power is back on
  6. do you have a rottweiler? Or what kind of dog is Bentley? (We have a rott/boxer mix is why I'm asking...named Rocky)
  7. this little guy has me rolling in laughter!!! Drink his coffee, gotta check the computer, gotta check the camera, i gotta go to the bathroom, apples and grapes...it's great! thanks so much for sharing!
  8. maybe that's what he did with the other people? But is now saying it in your voice bc he's been around you to learn your voice? I have no idea. good luck!
  9. i have no idea! but, i've heard somewhere plastic eggs can help discourage it? (i could be totally off mark here) and, maybe taking away nesting material...and shredding toys?
  10. hum, reading this, i might have to crack the chicken bone for jasper... he hasn't done that yet...
  11. great story! thanks for sharing! he really wanted to know what you were doing if he didn't ring that bell!
  12. i moved jasper's cage into our room and i put a towel over the top to block out the light from the tv, it's cozy up there and dark ... although, he hates me putting the towel on his cage. hisses and crouches down low with his beak open... but, after i get it on, he's completely fine and goes up there when he's ready for sleep.
  13. my cat is scared of jasper! I was hanging out on our bed and simba (cat) jumped up...he's a long hair cat that's part rex'd (his belly and legs and chest are super curly) anyway, cat jumped up and didn't come near me because i had jasper... well, next thing i knew jasper dive bombed simba with his scream and went after him! simba (he's old...like 16 or something like that) ran and hid under the bed. So...now when i have jasper out, i really don't see the cat! but put the bird in his cage and the cat is on my lap purring...
  14. i too, have loved reading and seeing your posts.... I can't wait to have some free time to go through your journals. I do feel bad about you being away from Tinkerbell. Just from the few pictures i've seen, i can tell you and her have such a bond. I really love your siggy picture. It's probably in your journals, but how does she act when she see's you and your wife when you come back?
  15. how funny!!! Thanks for sharing the pictures!
  16. CRAZY!!! Silly bird! It's amazing what they can do while spinning and flying and jumping!
  17. great stories! Thanks for sharing! Azzie, when you said she had a death grip on her tail feathers, i also had seen Jasper do this last week! i was like, you can not stand anyone getting close to your tail feathers, yet here you have a death grip on them!
  18. awesome! i'm going to dvr it!
  19. I am so taking my 4 year old to the movies with me to see that movie!!! (yea, we'll see how that goes) it looks hilarious and I can't wait for it to come out
  20. dan, i can just imagine dayo doing that! lol! And...your amazon can unbolt and do all that?!? Goodness... very busy bird indeed! I'll move jasper's toy more to the middle and check the pear thing... thanks for the tip!
  21. For a while, I have noticed Jasper's tail feathers are a bit... raggaly (new word? lol) and thought, well, maybe he's an over preener on his tail feathers... Nope!!! It's because of how hard he plays! I was watching him play...and he started playing pretty hard that he didn't notice (for a minute anyway) that his tail feathers were all but sticking out of the bars and at one point, his wing was through the bars... Then, his tail feathers were bent to were they were close to touching his belly! I started to worry about what if he got his tail feathers or wing stuck while i was away (or even there?!?) He's in a ok size cage, bar spacing is 1/2 in, has enough room to do whatever he needs, although i'd like for him to have a bigger cage! should i move his toys so he can't swing and swirl anywhere near the edge of his cage? Or, is he normal...
  22. that cage! GROSS and YUCK don't cover it! Thank goodness you spent that time on that cage! I bet he'll be happier now! I wonder what noises and stuff he makes...being raised with a pet monkey...i bet that will be interesting! I wonder if he'll let you record him... (i try to be sneaky with jasper, but he knows i'm being sneaky and gets all interested in what i'm 'not' doing) Congrats on your new baby!
  23. hopefully that med works! and can't wait to find out if cody is a girl or boy! If girl, are you keeping the name?
