  1. I was also going to suggest to ignore the screech (how annoying that the bird outside taught your bird! UGH!) and to not show any emotion on your face... and give a new noise that's so much fun and makes you guys so happy!!! Good luck.
  2. lol..next, he'll try to fly to screen to get a drink!
  3. We did research, we're open to both. But when we saw Jasper (TAG) we fell in love right then and we both looked at each other and promptly put a deposit down. He also talks up a storm and is very smart... to smart for his own good! haha... Good luck
  4. LOL!!! That's what I thought of too...
  5. Talon's nilah (did I spell it right?) "Hey, what are YOU looking at!" Everyone's was great...but that spiky hair and crazy look in her eye...what a great shot!!! Loved looking through them! Thanks
  6. squeals...SHE"S SO CUTE!!! Congrats!
  7. oh my... Start a new topic on this...that just seems crazy. I would also THINK that it wouldn't just be a grey problem...that others would have it as well. Did this guy have cockatoo's in the petshop?
  8. Oh dear!!!! We're almost to the terrible twos.. Good luck to you and Georgie!!! (We'll about be in this at the same time!) Good to see you back!
  9. WELL! Glad i'm not the only one then! LOL
  10. Lol...he's such a crazy bird!!! I am much more watching body language when I scratch his head now...it's saved my fingers several times!!!
  11. Well. Jasper has come up with his own game, he's done it TWICE now... it's funny, but not a good game!!! So, he puts his foot up for a step up... bites my finger, I of course, move my hand to make him fly off, he laughs, mid air, lands and whisper's good boy, good boy. HUM! So, he puts his head down for a scratch... I'm scratching his head...he bites my finger (this time, draws blood - first time ever...for me with this guy) flies off because i move my finger (toward him not away) and laughs mid air, lands and whisper's good boy, good boy! SO...i've got a new 'game' to break!
  12. I also think it looks like an awful amount of red... I would take him in too...
  13. Yes, I would opt for a cag!
  14. Great update!!! Can't wait to see new pictures!!
  15. I'm sitting here at a seminar, trying hard not to cry. Thank you for sharing the details. you made the right decision. I take the chirps as telling you, it's ok mom, i'm going to be ok and you be ok too. I love you. That's what I take those chirps to be. Still praying for you guys. (BIGHUG)
  16. i am so, sorry. Just so sorry. You totally made the right choice. I'm still praying for you guys. Thank you for the pictures. How totally awesome she put her head under your son's cheek to guard him. I'm so glad that she knew your love for the time she was here. Just know that she is flying and her feet and legs are working and she'll be super excited to see you again Hang in there. again, you made the right choice.
  17. Thanks Jay and yes, you may anytime! Yea, I'll ask dave... I remember reading...i think from you or dave that they like the cool water... when I gave him a bath yesterday, he got extremely soaked...(YEA!) and actually sort of not, spread his wings, but didn't keep them all tight and closed to his body. and, he walked around in the tub! which he hasn't done that, as much as he did last night. so yea!!! So, I got a pretty good look and the spots under his wings doesn't seem as big as I originally thought! And, he has got pin feathers coming in...everywhere. Afterward, he looked very angry, but had his wings a little spread out (kwim?) like he enjoyed it. But, boy I kept getting dirty looks. One more question... I still think he's going through a molt too...just because i have found non blood feathers and the down feathers everywhere... right? And all the pin feathers coming in...(to me, it's crazy for him to have that many pin feathers coming in!)
  18. i am so sorry. I will pray for you guys.
  19. Thanks guys.. Will do a check up... So...yesterday, I found 4 total feathers...today, i woke him up after he had 14 hours of good sleep (is that to much?) and looked in his cage and there was one feather.... and then my daughter and i had to leave from 10-2 and when we got back, i took him out of his cage and put him on his play stand and went and looked and there was only 1 feather.... hopefully a good thing! I know it will take time, but i'm hoping that more sleep, more out time and more baths...more of everything will help! Stay positive... i love this guy so much he could be in his underwear and i'd still love him... pearllyn - mites? ick! thank goodness you found that out! thenabrd - thanks it does help Malikah - what did you find out at the vet? Judy - thanks
  20. So good to hear from you and spock!!! Still keeping you guys in my thoughts and prayers... Is jay feeling any better? How are you holding up?
  21. My worst... Well one of my worst nightmares have come true. Jasper is plucking. I thought it was molting. It's not. I mentioned what i have been seeing to a guy who really knows birds. He said ... That sounds more like chewing or plucking. I am so upset. I had thought that it just looked not quite like a molt. His legs have bare spots on them with now a bunch of pin feathers coming in. (except for a few spots) Same with a quarter size spot under both wings... One has pin feathers coming in, the other doesn't. Although I think he is going through a molt... He has lost a bunch of down feathers. And some non blood feathers as well. I have had a humidifier on him for a few weeks now bc I knew he needed the extra moisture ... So got that... Got some different spray stuff with aloe and other oils in it... Will up the baths, changed out toys... Moved his cage into a room that will have almost complete darkness for sleeping and will move his cage out to living room during the day. (he was in our room) So today was... Ok. Did all this last night, the second we got home... And I found one chewed off feather this morning and while he was out in the living room. I glance over and he's intently chewing on a feather. I get up and say here Jasper let's go over here. Went back and looked in his cage and there were 3 chewed off blood feathers. I am so upset. I need to read everything else on plucking... Any help anyone can give will be very much appreciated. Pretty sure he has moved to his chest. No bare spots yet, but one area looks thin...
  22. me too... I hope one of them checks in soon
  23. lol! That's so funny!
  24. not sure...one time my daughter dumped ... can't think of the name of it, but i would never use it around birds, anyway, he got this stuff dumped on him and i flew him under water and rinsed and rinsed... let him air out in a different room and cleaned his cage and let it air out. He was fine... but then again, i can't remember what was sprayed on him! hopefully your bird will be ok too...but I would defiantly call the vet.
