I don't think Tanya meant to have Jackson fly onto her pan, he is just learning where to go and now he knows landing on the stove is a major No-No! Every one of our birds has landed somewhere we didn't want them to, and accidents happen. Luckily this time there were no injuries and lessons were learned.. Tanya you are doing GREAT don't let anyone tell you otherwise!!

I hope you're wearing a life preserver!! Rene pops out with new stuff every day I asked him today if he wanted some good water, since he was sitting on the bowl rim staring into it and he looked up at me gave me the evil birdy glare and yelled "NO!!" thats new lol

I read through the comments on the story, and in the archives.. some people just don't understand. Some are angry at parrot owners, blaming us.. some are mad at the airlines etc.. good read JayD thanks

my cousin had/has many birds and he is also a big snake lover, in an effort not to freak either the snake or birds out, they were housed on different levels of his home, birds in the main living area of the house, and all the snakes were in bedrooms and the office.. his tanks had locks so the snakes couldn't open the top.. But most of all he was concerned about cross contamination.. and was very very vigilant in hand washing/clothes changing when it came to the birds...I believe keeping snakes and birds would be ok, as long as they are safe distances from each other and you are willing to accept the possible consequences.

Thats just how I learned my love for parrots, I cleaned my neighbors cages every other day for her in exchange for some birdy time and of course a few moulted macaw feathers.. she had an CAG and macaw, I believe she was a greenwing.. it was a wonderful few summers and many life lessons learned!!

LOL its funny how conditioned I am.. when I expanded the picture I went into that automatic squint that we all do.. when we know food is about to be flung all over us!! WOW... I have nothing else to say hahaha thats kind of embarrassing hehehehe

Joey, you are a man of taste!! I have been trying to tell my humans that bathing in my dish is WHAT I WANT!!! and they keep spraying me ugh... maybe I will stop tossing out my ice cubes and try them in my bath hmmmm....Rene

Tango, you shouldn't be embarrassed, how many times have you seem those people do the same to Salsa, Spock and Joey LoL.. Next time do like Rene does throw it at them!! LOL

Well I don't know if this is Rene's hallmark, but it is definitely funny to watch.. Rene loves to steal my eye glasses, where ever and whenever lol he does some greyt flying maneuvers to snatch them on the way by or lands on the top of my head to hit me with the tip of his beak make a kissing sound and then grab the nose piece of the glasses and hes off!! I chase him around the house he giggles and my dogs chase me.. (on a side note he has NEVER bit them he just holds them in his feet and dances.

I can answer that question with a big fat NO!!, I live in the middle of nowhere, my closest landmark would be the highway, or a state park, the trees are gigantic and very dense I have always feared someone getting out more so since we moved to this house. There is very little people traffic maybe a few joggers but other than that they are far a few in between. I have lived in this town or its surrounding my entire life, and I honestly don't think if Rene or any of my fids were found that they would be returned to me, or taken care of properly.. I know of a small amount of people with parrots and and even smaller amount of them take care of them properly :mad:

and to make things worse there is a tropical storm headed straight for the oil spill I believe we will never see the eco system cleaned in any of our lifetimes
