Owen is a very talkative fellow! He has a very deep voice:) Thanks for sharing this great video of Owen.

Interesting! Biscotti "wooo's" too! I play music most of the day also, wide variety. He seems to really like anything with a fiddle or harmonica in it, and the louder I play it the louder he sings along.
-
Biscotti loves almonds in the shell, has no problem getting to the nut! Walnuts don't interest him near as much, even when split in halves. It's interesting hearing all the fids favorites. I'm going to have to try him with pistachios!

Hi Shelly, I personally think it would be best to have the breeder keep her until you are settled in your new place. To me it would be too many changes & too much chaos that is always involved with moving for a baby to handle. That's JMHO, I hope some of the more experienced members will add their thoughts. Good luck with your move & I hope you will have more peace in your new home.

I am glad you posted this question Buttaxi, Biscotti ( will be 2 on June 1st ), does exactly the same thing. I have been pretty much doing as Dave said & it seems to work out fine. It is funny how nature kicks in so early on some behaviors that will be used when they are more mature. I see my baby bull calves out in the field humping their herd mates ( male & female ). These guys are only 1-2 months old! And puppies also do this, even though they are not sexually mature they seem to like to "try out" these behaviors they will need in the future. I have never raised a parrot through these growth stages, so it is all very new & interesting to learn about. I really appreciate Dave sharing his knowledge with us newbies. It will be interesting to see what our babies are like when they actually reach sexual maturity!

This is very interesting. No wonder we can never sneak anything by them! Thanks for sharing this!

Cute!! She seems more interested in the challenge than the prize!! -
Biscotti calls me Mommy or Mommy Bird!! I love it, so sweet.
-
Biscotti does the remote thing also, heck if your gonna play with it why can't he?? He does that pretty much with anything I handle, just want's to be involved! He also does the droopy wing dance & gets all excited sometimes- he has not regurged on me yet, I move away as soon as he gets the neck bob going!

Biscotti & I were chatting this morning, he was standing in the window sill looking outside. I was leaning on the back off the couch & also looking outside. The house finches have been breeding & nesting like crazy & the hummingbirds have really started to show up & Biscotti likes watching them out the window. Anyway, he was randomly naming the objects he knows: that's a blanket, that's a clock, that's a pillow, etc... and also the things he likes: I like peanut butter, I like strawberry, I like grape, etc.... He paused during his ramblings looked me right in the eye and said "Mommy's a good bird". Well, that just melted me. It's the wonderful, random things these birds do that makes them so unique & special!

Well at least Issac gets "sweet" when your on the phone! Biscotti is a total s*#@!! I am sure it is because he no longer has my undivided attention, he is jealous because I am talking to someone besides him!! He will attack the phone, dive bomb my head, etc... I just have to wave him off with my hands & pretty soon he'll go to one of his perches & pout!! It is amazing the way they behave & react to certain things, who knows what is going on in those little birdy brains!

AAAWWW! Sweet! Thanks for sharing!

Biscotti generally chooses to "be a brat", as you are saying- "such is the nature of the beast". Very true, mother nature made them this way to survive on their own and as a species. It is wonderful to accept them as they are & were designed to be & not try to change these wonderful creatures into something that they are not. I love "my brat" !! Thanks for sharing this insight Ray!!

Thanks for the thumbs up!! Looks like a great movie.

How exciting!! And how wonderful of you to see the "uniqueness" and not a fault. I remember visiting Biscotti at his breeders, I too was instantly in love. Still am. I think you will do fine with bringing him home, you have a lot of experience with the special ones. Keep us posted, and get a picture when you can- we would love to see *him*.

So, so sorry to hear this. As Judygram said him being a Doberman probably was a huge factor. I have owned Rotties for almost 30 yrs and just being the breed they are they are immediately suspected of "being mean". How terribly sad, my thoughts are with you.

Love these! Thanks for the smiles.

At this point in time I would say Biscotti's ( almost 2 yrs ) nickname would have to be Class Clown. He is so funny & has quite a good sense of humor & is always laughing!

Few pics of Rorschach *hope the images display*

Wow, he is a beauty! Love the oddly placed red feathers on his tummy. He has the perfect name! The 2nd pic looks like most of my close ups of Biscotti, just before he launches into the camera! Thanks for sharing these lovely pic's. -
Lol, that is too funny!! No telling what was going through Cosmo's birdy brain, maybe he was thinking "wow, that must have been a bad, bad bird". Glad he is over the hissy fit ! Thanks for sharing this story.

Great pictures!! Yeah Toby! What a handsome boy

Just letting everyone know Louie is home safe & sound

Awesome!! Glad to hear Louie is home safe & sound. Yes, please some pic's soon! -
I too am guilty of repeating sounds & words Biscotti makes, he is such a clown I can't help myself!! Something else I have caught myself doing is explaining things or labeling things even when I am not with him! I have always talked to my animals, but I keep finding my self giving explanations in more detail as to what I am doing, what it is, why etc... The dogs just pretty much ignore all my explanations unless the words- ride, goody, walk or toy are included! I know Biscotti listens to my explanations because he repeats alot of them in context, so I am sure I will continue to explain myself to whoever is in earshot. Now that's probably a ticket to the funny farm!! Lol, I already live there!

How exciting!! I remember the day I went to get Biscotti & the days prior I too was so excited getting everything ready for the babys arrival!! It is such a wonderful time, you are going to have so much fun with this little feathered creature that will change your life forever. Enjoy!!

Wow!! Beautiful birdy room. Those are some lucky, lucky fids! I like how Beau quit chewing your blinds when you told him to! Biscotti would have just continued to chew on them but would be verbally chastising himself, "bad bird, bad bad bird" lol. Thanks for sharing this great video of your beautiful flock!
