  1. Ha Ha Ha! Hilarious Caroline!!! Brilliant ~ I can just imagine them doing it too!! All of them must be really hard work (how on earth do you do it) but they sound like a laugh a minute!
  2. Oh how I love babies! Marley is absolutely beautiful. The times that you share will mould your relationship over the coming months and years. This time is so precious. You learn each other's faults, you learn each other's moods - you learn and live together. I hope you enjoy your journey with Marley - it is a fantastic experience over the next coming months, and your life will never, ever be the same again - they change your life!
  3. Well, hush your mouth!! (please say this in your best yankee doodle dandy drawl)!!! Just to wait until Simon Cowell presents Cheryl Cole to the states - then you will not only find out what I sound like, but also what I look like!!! (we apparently were separated at birth)!!!
  4. Ha Ha! I can afford a HUGE cage - just can't afford the HUGE house to put it in!!
  5. Oh bless him - I hope he's found. Such a little sweetie. x
  6. Harvey's minging like that too - but it usually culminates in him biting your toes - needless to say, I shift him quickly! Get that video posted - I'm sure your mother will be mortified - but hey, if she doesn't visit us here - she will never know (anyway, I promise that only I will look at it)!! Thanks for sharing this x
  7. Hi Laker - It's now 16 days since you first posted, so if the baby was three weeks old then, it is nearly six weeks old now - I am concerned that his eyes aren't fully opened. I know you had this problem about his leg - did you visit a vet? I'm interested in what age the vet placed him at because from your initial post he should be about 37 days old - what was said by the vet at your visit? Can't wait to find out how he is doing x
  8. Hi Martyn - nice to hear from you again. I agree with Judy - let him play in his huge cage alone! What a joy! Working 9 - 5 and leaving him alone isn't a problem - leave the radio on and let him have plenty to keep him occupied. Harvey's alone longer than that and doesn't blink an eye when I leave him - or return!!!
  9. What an absolutely wonderful picture! The purple in that dress (and tie) is stunning!! What a wonderful evening (I am so jealous - they started prom here way after I'd left school)!!! Thanks for sharing x
  10. Hi there - although not in Lancashire, my breeder (and Pearllyn's breeder) do "ship" babies. You can also come acrosss and visit them. This is John's site www.parrotcare.com Not too far away!
  11. Be careful what you wish for......! I had the same feelings about Harvey - he'd reached that one year old stage and was mute. I had a mute parrot. Of course I would still love him if he wasn't as entertaining, but it would be a blow........ Then the light switch was flicked! He's just turned 17 months and now actually "back chats" - If I say "Harvey" - he will say "what"!!! The cheek of it!! (my fault entirely, because if he says "hello" I say "hello Harvey, what?")!! He is sitting now mumbling and grumbling on the top of the door - and I have just heard him say "clever boy" - he's just a late bloomer!! So, in the end of "be careful what you wish for" - when watching a movie, and you're right at THAT part, the important part and the bird is going "what", "what", "what", "what" (over and over again and won't shut up) you think back to that lovely mute you once had!!!
  12. Ha Ha! I've watched that ping pong loads! It is absolutely hilarious!!!
  13. Hi Daniel and Welcome to our family. Well done to you for rescuing this poor, poor bird. As you have had an AG before I am sure you are just picking up where you left off - and I am sure that you have the time and patience to ensure Mezmo fits in fully to your family. Can't wait to see some pictures!
  14. He looks great Caroline - I can remember the first photo you posted of him, and he looked so sad. He's got such a lovely sparkle in his eye now. You would never have known how bad he was! Thanks for these - I often wonder how he's doing x
  15. Harvey wouldn't dream of going in his cage on his own in a million years! He "flirts" with the playstand on the top - but would never decide to climb into it - he's far too intelligent for that!!! What is advised though is that you actually take the bird out of the cage - you are allowing him to come out, not just of his own accord. Shows that you have the authority over cage time etc - buy I know this is difficult with a rescue bird. My husband uses his arm with a long sleeve top for Harvey to step up on - otherwise he would get bitten too. Harvey accepts this from him. So, all in all, I wouldn't worry about taking him back to the cage - it's just something we have to do
  16. Ahh, they are beautiful - and I'm sure Mr B was as special as all of your others. I particularly like that beautiful cerise colour over their forehead - it is spectacular x Thanks for yet another great piece
  17. As you know, I've had exactly the same experience with Harvey. He can refuse it violently (!) in one breath, and then half an hour later sit there like an angel whilst I slip it over his head. It's part of his plan to firmly establish himself as "boss". It is so frustrating though, because it's usually refused when it's an absolutely smashing moment to go outside, then that moment passes. Deviant little so and sos!
  18. Just had a little peek - they are all awake and very alert! These ones are going to be trouble makers for sure
  19. Ah - Happy Hatchday Jasper x - I agree with Janet - let's see how Tully is coming on
  20. Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha! How you have shown me up - a foul mouthed parrot! You have inadvertently, from thousands of miles away, chosen a news story from my part of the world!!! Joking asides - we have had a lot of thefts of birds in the North East of England. I too have my doors locked - the outside door that stays unlocked when I am at home - but callers have to come through another two doors before they would reach my hall. I also have an alarm system that "beeps" when any of my outer doors are opened - yes, it's like being in a Chinese take away - but informs me that someone is on their way in. I don't even use my front door now when Harvey is out - there is no barrier between the rest of my house and my hall - where Harvey's cage is and where he likes to sit. I go out of the back door and round to the front. I wouldn't let them know either
  21. Naughty, naughty girl then! You should know better Bonnie!! Have one now! I'm not sure what time it is there - but it is fast approaching 6pm here - so I've got a great excuse
  22. That's wonderful Phoebe - like I said before - with the guidance of this lot you will surely come through triumphant! If I had my time again I would have a Jasper or a Ruby - l like both of those Good luck! Keep us updated x
  23. Oh no - I thought that when you had her in your sights you would have had her back with you. I really hope you find Bobby x
  24. Hi Caroline - I use them. They were actually recommended by my vet when I had my cockatiel, because I too like to freshen up the house, but didn't want to "spray". They weren't so widely available and were expensive when I first started using them - but now they are widely available, and much cheaper. Watch out though - some are REALLY strong and stink!!
  25. It's great to hear from you Dee - and I can't wait to see the quilt - get those fingers going! It's hard to believe that it's nearly a year since Kopi was hatched - how time flies! Hurry up, finish what you're doing outside of this place (how dare you have a life) and GET BACK HERE!! Missed ya x
