Beau gets re-supplied with pellets, his parrot mix and fresh fruit & veg every morning but he is given a little of what we have - if it's reasonably healthy and treats whenever it's available. He seems happy with this arrangement.

Beau is just about 7 months and is only saying 2 things; "Hello" and "lyboy" which is part of the phrase "lovely boy" both things are not that clear although I know what he's saying because he says it the same way I do. Beau understands more than he says as do children of course before they talk. He knows that when I say "look what momma'a got" he has a treat coming up lol! He also knows that "breakfast" is when he is about to be fed mornings. "step up" and so on. Can't wait for the talking to flow. :-)

Hi Gorndt and welcome to the forum. If you have an AG and you interact with it, the chances are it WILL talk, there are very few that don't and if any parrot is gonna talk then it will be the AG - they are known as one of the best parrot species for talking, hence why they are so popular as pets. Be sure to talk and interact with you bird often, pronounce your words well and repeat often. Don't expect too much talking (if any) until your bird is between 1-2 yrs of age. Most of all enjoy your grey and remember, if it doesn't talk it isn't the end of the world so long as he/she is happy and healthy.

If he is eating his zupeem I wouldn't worry to much about the veggies but don't give up trying. He should eventually find a few he likes. As for the "growling" sounds like he is finding his voice. How old is he?
