  1. We Brits are known for:- a, our love of animals and b, our accentricities ;-)
  2. Argyle loves the new position of his cage and basks in the sunshine that shines into the window mid - late afternoons, as soon as the sun shines onto part of his cage he climbs into position, beak open and resting on a bar and foot propping-up his "chin". The problem is catching this exact image as he moves as soon as he sees the camera. This is the best I can do lol.
  3. 1 and 3, I wouldn't complain, I've seen (on tv) too many things the staff could do with your replacement. Your best friend's husband/partner makes a pass at you do you.. 1. Take him up on his kind offer?   2. Give him a piece of your mind but say nothing to her? 3. Risk your friendship by telling her?
  4. My grey can drop a bigger morning bomb than yours ;-)
  5. It is reassuring to us on this forum to know that Tracey has found a good, loving home.
  6. kdk, Vree is doing just great, with an injury such as his I feel that steady progress is a sure sign that he is mending. Everything that you say are all good signs and there is probably still some way to go before you can assume he is fully recovered or recovered as well as he will. Even (taking into account what Xtreme has said) if he doesn't improve further and his movements are resticted he can still live a fulfilling life. He is doing well though and there is no reason to believe he won't go on to make a full recovery. Wishing you and Vree all the luck in the world for a full recovery and lots of beaky cuddles to Vree.
  7. I love the name Yoshi! I'm sure she will talk in her own sweet time just as I'm sure Jill's Harvey will. They all begin to talk at different tmes but not before they are ready.

Of course when the pomegranite had been de-seeded it looked totally different to Beau thus making him highly suspicious of it lol, so although it was given to him as breakfast this morning he has only just started eating it (it's now 2pm) but he is enjoying it and it is a lot less messy. Thanks for the tip Lambert58.
  9. Enjoy your babies while they are so young, all stages of a grey's life has it's own rewards, your babies will be talking soon enough meanwhile enjoy the cuddle muffins that they are right now ;-)
  10. Great to see there are more improvements, Vree is doing just great.
  11. Thanks for the timely reminder Jay - karma for reminding us how precious our fids are and to never take them for granted.
  12. Aww that is so cute. Surely Alfie has to be male though, we all know how men love themselves...
  13. Joy is reading all these joys.
  14. Unfortunately I think we would have to get one shipped from the US making it even more expensive as we can't get them in the UK. Beau would also be petrified as they are so big!
  15. I have decided to have a new interior door (which seperates the birdy area to the hallway and ultimately the outside door) fitted as the old one is looking it's age and I have a curtain on it to hide it's ugliness. I was sick of the sight of the curtain and it was making the hallway dark. As an added safety feature to stop my son from opening the interior door whilst leaving the outside door open I have this time bought a lock to fit on the new one - the new door will now be locked when the birds are out to stop a potential bid for freedom ;-)
  16. I love my beaufiful Beau so much. I am soooo proud of him, these past few weeks he is talking up a storm, it's like the penny has dropped and he has twigged how to copy human words with ease. His latest vocabulary: "Come on Argyle" this makes me the proudest as it is my beloved football team. "Come on then" "good boy" "Bye" as I leave the room "owwww" when I'm bringing a treat "hello Bobo" "kiss kiss kiss" Three of these phrases have come in the last week. There are more that I can't think of right now. I'm sure he is also saying other things as he is often in "my voice mode" but I can't always figure what it is he is saying. I love that bird more than I can say!
  17. Funny story, yes the microwave will be next, followed by the smoke alarm and dripping tap
  18. Joy is a new word or phrase from Beau and a laugh (in my voice from Argyle) nothing makes me happier than one of these things occuring.
  19. :woohoo: Wonderful news! Thanks for letting us know.
  20. http://www.thisisgloucestershire.co.uk/gloucestershireheadlines/Oscar-parrot-takes-flight/article-1873729-detail/article.html Please keep a look out for Oscar if you are in the south/south west of the UK.
  21. Oh lovely picture, I love it! What is the latest news?
  22. Doesn't matter if you believe or not, it's interesting.
